We don't run into idgits that often, it used to happen alot more like a year or two ago.
But when we do run into them, its always uncomfortable.
I've occasionally gotten the "r u a girl?" thing because most of my characters tend to be female. Never gotten a question about a MySpace or Facebook thing, though, for which I suppose I should be grateful.
I did get a laugh though when I was on a team with my husband AND an ex-boyfriend of mine AND another male friend of mine, and some doofus joins up and starts hitting on me. Bloodspeaker (hubby), Jade Crush (ex) and Dust Raven (friend) all just sit back and watch, until the guy then accuses me of being a guy and just playing a chick.
To which the guys go:
Bloodspeaker: "she's my wife"
Jade Crush: "she's my ex"
Dust Raven: "she's who I'd cheat with if Blood wouldn't kill me"
The doofus promptly quit the team.

I've maanged to avoid any obsessive kind of tells - usually, they just ask what chat program I use, and what chat name I use, and then invite me to chat before they even hear my polite refusal

When I first started the game there was a guy toon who frequently invited me to team and psted me. He was nice in the beginning, but he started making comments about my toon's posterior, etc. all the time. He also got "jealous" of other male toons by pretending to hit them with AOEs in penalty for looking at my toon. I was new to the game and put up with it for a little while, but right when I was about to /gignore him, he disappeared. I haven't seen him online since.
That was the worst I've ever gotten as a girl on all girl toons. There are times when people assume that I'm a guy, but I simply correct them and they don't make the same mistake again.

Hmm Barb Arian (or specifically an alt version of her Servant of Rularuu) is a 8ft tall woman (who has a cat tail but then nobody actually ever seems to notice it...weird I know) the only time she's ever been hit on is among my regular team and even that was jokingly ("ooh you're so hawt, it's like you're on fire!" when she's an SS/Fire brute).
Infact I get more questions about who on earth is Rularuu in tells than I do getting hit on.
I'm always disappointed nobody hits on Dr Mechano though...hey just because he's a male elderly mad scientist (cutified in my avatar) doesn't mean he don't need lovin'!

What's funny to me about this thread is the fact that I am gay and regularly play with my boyfriend... and I have never been tossed the kind of bile that a RL Girl/Guy duo got tossed. Pretty much all we do is PUG around and add in the occasional SG Mate friend when available.
Not that I want that kinda crap going on.
