Give MM's kinetics!
I have to agree, as much as i love MM the idea of a thugs/kin mm both makes me smile and cry. It would be a unbalanced.
Most proliferated sets get modified rather than moved as is. Sure that the devs could devise a way to introduce kinetics for MMs without being overpowered - may just take a little imagination.
Isn't FS the big problem? Couldn't the MM inherent (supremacy iirc) be used to counter FS - so the MMs own henchmen didn't benefit? Or use a MM version of FS that had the enemy debuff as is but only a fraction of the buff?
I'm sure there's a way to do it.
The thing I never quite figure is:
If a MM with kinetics would be so overpowered then why don't I see nothing but duos of MMs and kins?

Why would you want to have kin for mm? There is only one reason! SB and FS... + a heal and end recovery... Comeon... I am a die hard mm player.
This would make every mm with it a one-man killing machine! Even wors then any Fire/Kin from which we know is already overpowered and used for farming and powerlevelling.
Be realistic... If you want to power level... do like the rest and go to the Mission Architect

honestly FS is unbalanced already, just cause it requires a team is the only reason they haven't nerfed it. Is that a valid way to determine whether to nerf something? I'll leave that to others to decide I guess.
I'm personally tired of relying on other people. I'm going to need thugs/kin in order to solo 8 man missions in the future
well, since the change to pet recharge, it probably wouldn't be quite as overpowered now... but something about bots at the damage cap still sounds wrong.

Why /duel is a bad idea
Right, pet recharge already can't be buffed (SB), meaning Kinetics MMs just get a heal (Dark already has an identical heal, and Transfusion would probably have a nerfed radius like Twilight Grasp. In fact, with Fluffy, Dark has the heal twice), damage capped pets, and if you like, pets which will run all over the entire map without any possibility of control from you (have you ever seen a Ninja with SB?)
And even with damage cap, the only real problems would be Arsonist and Assault Bot.

Kinetics Masterminds would NOT be overpowered any more than every other Mastermind is over powered. Pets simply are not smart enough to maximize the effectiveness of Fulcrum Shift and their own AoE attacks.
Have you ever seen a duo of a Mastermind and a Kinetics tearing through enemies any more than a Mastermind and many many many other combos? The answer is no. Kinetics Corruptors and a Mastermind don't make an incredibly powerful duo. Pairing them together would not make an incredibly powerful single character.
I've essentially played a Kinetics MM. I've played a Kin Cor just using a secondary while I dual boxed a MM just using a primary. It was nothing special.

Fun - Yes
Want - Yes
Overpowered - Not anymore overpowered than Dark, Storm, Poison, Thermal, etc. etc.
If you think it is overpowered then please try forming a duo with a Kinetics and a MM and try it out. Try to play as one character would. It will take a little practice and be a little different, but you can quickly see how this isn't going to be any more powerful than nearly all other MM combos.

Dark does not exactly have an identical heal - and just like Dark's, Kinetics heal would be much less useful with some primaries. Dark's heal centers around the caster, Kinetics around the target. With a ranged set, say, Bots, Kin's heal would be "meh."
That said, just run some Kin MMs in AE. (There's one Bot/Kin in Hero Corpse *cough*) - while the SB'd pets are amusing, it'd either be rather annoying to play or horrendously overpowered, without a lot of in between, I think.
I'd personally like to have the Sonic set for a MM.
Did Smurphy seriously put Poison on the same level as Dark or Thermal for MMs? Really?
