Forum Avatars...
If you look in the USER CP / EDIT AVATAR settings, you will notice it does say 100*100 is the limit.
I need to go through and edit some of mine to look nicer in the bigger (it was formerly 80*80) format.
As for where... I use my own webspace. Many others using image hosting sites like image shack.
Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Photobucket is a popular choice.
There's Tinypic.com as well.

Samuel_Tow: Your avatar is... I think I like it
Photobucket. And the forums always auto-size my avatars for me. I may have an avatar thats 300x300 but if I link it to here, it automatically scales to the 100x100.

I can't get mine to show up for some reason. I stuck it in my sig instead.
That's why adblock was invented. Firefox only, so far as I know.
Notice a huge great waste of bandwidth avatar? Right click -> Adblock Plus:block Image.
Never have to see it or download it again. Hurrah!
(No, I don't care how impressive, 'humorous' or shiny an avatar is. If it's wasting my bandwidth, I will kill it with flaming hammers.)

I changed it out of the kindness of my heart (though back in the day people on this forum used to use avatars far too big all the time. I have numerous saved.) but if it's such an issue the forums should A. Not autosize avatars so that the mods see one thats too big and can remove it or B. Have a byte size limit. Lots of forums have this. Usually it's around 80 kb or so.

There's no reasonable way for the forum to check a byte size limit for avatars unless the avatar is uploaded to their server.

This is especially true in the case of avatars which are actually PHP scripts spitting out an image.

...okay I have an avatar on another site...maybe I can't get it to link to other sites. Sooo...where is everyone else keeping their avatars to link to here, since I don't see an option to upload an avatar to here.
And 100x100 is the limit for avatars? I ask because I've seen some that look bigger.
