The Legion of Valor Presents: A Costume Contest Extravaganza!
Could you tell us the criteria you use to select the winner? I'm hoping it's more than "the coolest looking costume", maybe some guidelines like good use of color/color combinations, original concepts, use of different costume pieces in an original way, good biographies, humor, something a little more objective.
I guess I'm getting a little tired of seeing these guys dressed in black leather with black bat wings and a black cloud around themselves with a names like "Spectral Darkness" (or "Formulaic Cliche-ism" if you like) and bios that say, "They killed my parents. Three times. And it makes me... upset," winning 20 million inf.

Will try to make it, but that's my daughter's birthday weekend, and my *shudder* in-laws will be up. They may want me to socialize.

Color co-ordination will be something we'll look at as well, but it all depends on how color combinations are pulled off. You could have a costume that's red, blue, green, and pink, and still win, if you can do it in a way that doesn't make my eyes bleed to look upon you...
(Could swear there was a "Rainbow Man" type costume at the last major costume contest we held, and it didn't look half bad...)If your character has a good bio, that will be a factor as well, so long as the bio and the costume match.(A bio about a dark semi-evil former demon, running around in a neon pink tutu doesn't really mesh well, does it?
)So in a nutshell, it's not going to be just a "coolest costume wins" thing, we'll be looking at all kinds of subtle details to figure out who will win. So don't worry, we won't end up with a bunch of generic looking costumes winning.
Great to hear. Not trying to break b**** or anything, I just laughed this weekend when a character of the above description (Darkity DarkDark) won 20M this weekend.
And though most of the other costumes were, um, standard stock, they at least had put some thought and original effort in. I know a lot of people put a lot of work into their costumes and backgrounds...

It's not the Inf that is the issue. Despite the recent upgrade to my mains I/O's I am still richer than god.
I have become addicted to ART.
the art work is what is atracting me.

Had some trouble deciding, there were so many great ones to choose from, but here's our winners!
First place prize of 100 million inf, and a portrait of the winners' character went to... Vivace! I absolutely loved your costume, as did everyone else that was helping me judge, congratulations!(I'll be forwarding screenshots and your email address to Frank, A.S.A.P. so he can get started, and I'll make sure it gets posted up here too as soon as it's done!

Second place prize went to Illusina. Your costume was fantastic, I loved the somewhat "glowy bronze" look to it, and kept coming back having to look at it. Very nice costume.
Third place went to Hooded Freak. Nice use of contrast, and simplicity in design.
Fourth place went to Calash. You used certain costume parts in ways I've never thought of, and they really meshed well together.
Congratulations again to the winners, and thanks to everyone who came out! I'll try to post pics of the winners soon, for your forum viewing pleasure...

August 22nd '09, the Legion of Valor presents:
A Costume Contest Extravaganza!
From 11am Eastern time, until 12 noon,(Which is when our judges will begin casting their votes. This is to give everyone enough time to show up!) we will be holding a costume contest in Galaxy City,(of course, here on the Victory server) where anyone and everyone is encouraged to bring their best!
First Place Winner will receive: 100 Million Influence, and an original artwork done of their character, by the Legion's very own Frank King!(Click here to preview some of his work!)
Second place will win: 50 Million Influence
Third and Fourth Place winners will receive 30 Million Influence each.
