Personally, I've got no idea where Forse is coming from.
However I have been a frequenter of the NA boards for a while now infact I've transplanted news from the EU community to the NA community thanks to both accounts.
Mainly in the guise of the first (very brief summary which was followed later by detailed chat logs) of the Positron Q&A on the EU test server and although it IS stroking my own ego a bit...seem to have been quite quoted as the dude that asked Positron about Power Customisation during that Q&A and got the response "Power customisation wasn't something we could do under Cryptic" which at the time was as ambiguous as ever but now seemed to have foreshadowed Issue 16.
Hell I've even spread the word of the "City of Cute" avatars by Psygon to the NA community, some of which I see spreading more and more.
For me there hasn't been a seperate EU and NA community for a while now, yes I'm using my NA account to log into the boards but that's only so I don't have to be called Dr_Mechano EU, it ruins the flavor of the name in my personal opinion (yes that is highly vain but meh to you people). I've spread things from NA to EU and EU to NA.
While we British normally joke that you Americans don't get sarcasm, it appears with Forse that it may have been the other way around.
Forse, the NA community ISN'T persecuting the EU community. The Lounge was actually something that was asked for by US, the EU community so that we weren't drowned out by the multitude of voices and could remain our own unique little community where almost all the people who posted on the EU boards knew everyone else.
Yes there have been jokes and possibly a friendly little dig here and there, hell even I'm guilty of doing that right back at the NA community, refering them to Yanks on occasions which if I remember correctly people in the south of America find pretty offensive and also saying I wouldn't mind strangling a few with a very, very horrible accent in their sleep (seriously, it's got a British version now tha has spread over here now thanks to that bloody awful woman Catherine Tate and her "am I bovvered?" stupidness for which she needs to be put to the sword...her death shall be quick because she turned out 'alright' in Dr Who but that's the only reason, Her and Sacha Baron Cohen for his truly annoying Ali G character who made being an ***** seem cool to the people he was mocking).
There I think I got the ranting out of my system and some death threats to a British celebrities...words cannot describe the hate I have for those two though but that is something I shall not decided to act upon until my army of the Undead is beating down their doors ready to consume them all, eyeballs first!

There was a longer post here a moment ago, explaining in detail my opposition to the forum merge (when done without a server merge of the game as well). But that sentence there sums it up better.
And you know what, I was mistaken. This was all in good humour, and I apologise for wildly misinterpreting everyone else's fun. Clearly I have not participated in the forum enough over these last three years to correctly gauge the nuances of what constitutes humour to some people. The jokes were offensive to me, but I have a different understanding of online communities to others here - and I have worked on the other side of the fence myself as well for community management; seeing such a mistake happen here makes me cringe, and seeing it taken so frivilously whilst the warning signals blare out is my tipping point.
I apologise for any misconduct on my part. Let's just leave it there and start again.

This is one of the reasons I'm heartily glad I don't live in Blighty any more. SAdly, the wonderful British individualness of character has a damaged flipside IMO. Our island status has left us with a societal fear of integration.
Being worried about getting 'lost' in the tired, poor huddled masses of Americans on these forums is IMO ridiculous.
That said, I do think that it was unfortunate (but probably inevitable) that there wasn't a stronger effort from the Devs or the mods to make it clear that either both communities were moving to a completely new forums, to do away with any 'we're getting new wallpaper in OUR forum, and they're coming to join us!' posts from either side, or to make it clear that the European forums were being shut down and the Europeans were moving to join the NA ones. The latter is of course how the US posters see it, and the forum titles and structure does support that.

I have the NA appended to my name because when the EU game launched I tried it for a month to see if I wanted to switch over (I'm British, live in Poland, so I wondered if the timezone thing was worth switching). I, er, didn't find enough on the EU servers to make me switch.
But - my old EU handle is still in their database it seems lol.

Personally I don't care much to have an EU Lounge. To me it fosters a sense of "us and them", and I've long wondered why there's any separation at all. People are mostly the same all over the world when it comes down to it, certainly when there's an over-arching subject on a forum. The German and French communities having a language-specific forum I can see for practicality, and the EU (and NA) servers obviously would contain info that pertains to that server. Mostly though it's just people BSing over topic du jour.

Yes you mistook others fun for insults. Is that wrong? No, not at all.
You brought up many valid points that, while may have only been made valid to the subject at hand by others jest, were still quite apt. Segregation, of any kind, is a problematic approach to conversation across, and inside, country boundaries.
However even more than that, for me at least, was the fact that you admitted that your immediate opinion wasn't wholly informed. I won't say you were wrong, indeed your anger I believe was drawn from one of the purest causes I know, equality. You admitted your confusion and apologised for comments that, technically, weren't wrong even though the tone could have been better.
I've seen many forums and many posters, but few with the integrity to apologise for something so trivial and yet that could touch on such deep held beliefs.
Again, Forse, I say thank you for proving me right to stay with this game.

I posted a rant about money earnt by City of Heroes not staying with City of Heroes and that it shouldn't be spent on anything else.
However several people pointed out to me that money earnt from other games actually funds CoH and I ended up feeling a bit sheepish and admitting I was being a bit of a fool about the whole thing.
We all get caught up in moments of RAGE!!!! and don't see the woods for the trees.
I do apologise if my post came across as harsh to you Forse it wasn't mean to be.

Oh I agree completely. If anything I'm one of the worst people at jumping to conclusions, including racial profiling and general intolerance I know.
I've done more than my fair share of generalisation of people and despite that I regret every second of it, I'll admit it will probably happen again.
I just find it somewhat fulfilling to find forum goers that have an honest and self-assessing attitude, willing to admit their faults and mistakes as well as stand by their beliefs rather than the typical "L2P N3WB" I've heard so many times.
