Couldn't agree more to be honest..
Every time I hit 41 on a vill, I don't go level straight after, I wait until I get that silly arc done. Usually, having more acccounts, I then even go as far as teaming with a character that's 50, putting the 41 at some Patron, and dash through those mishes with said 50.
This more than has my vote, hero side have it far easier with "Choose from new Epic Pool Set" or whatever it is called exactly...
Perhaps de-link them from Patron pools, if at all? I'd rather CoV didn't *LOSE* content considering most villain players would be partial to a little more.
make them optional 
let the character do them if they want. my bots MM is stumped for the past 3 levels on the cave of the maker mission because the Psi-spamming pools seem to like ignoring my bots and hammer me every time.
Get a team or a level 50 to help you out?
I object to removing content as Xemulas said. However, after running through those arcs 8 times, I wouldn't mind if they were made optional.

hows about redoing the patron pools so that they were just generic pools and then turning each of the Patron arcs into Mini SFs which give a special reward specific to the patron patron?

The patron pools have only just been reworked.
I myself don't fancy seeing the devs time being spent on making a part of the game that is WAI and perfectly acceptable, into a great deal of hassle.
well the reworking would pretty much only involve removing there connection to the patrons and there arcs so not a huge amount of reworking and would make things easier for the addition of a few more pools which IMO the CoV ATs could really do with a few more.
And expanding the Patron missions into mini SFs could be used as a means to give CoV a few more mid level TFs which is something some players have asked for in the past.
Make the heroes work for them as well

Hmm? So that, if you DONT choose a power, you obviously have no contact with them (some might not).
Makes more sense than working for someone, and THEN changing the power.
Get the power that unlocks the arcs. You can still obviously respec it after, although that wouldnt unlock a second/third w/e contact.

You mean, tricking them into thinking they've been given what they've wanted, but in fact have been given 4 SFs in the 40-50 Range, which rehash the exact stories the OP and some others are so sick of?
Heck no! Those arcs are too long to be made into SF. You'd have another 4 Posis to moan about...
What villains need are SF in the 10-15 range and in the 40-45 range. And proper ones, not rehashed content taken from story arcs.

It aint hard to remove the text <epic pool accesable> and make them available from 41 like Heroes. You can keep the quest for the badge, who cares if someone has 1 or 4 badges.
Eventualy i did make it, dualclient with my other villain on follow-auto heal behind the hossie. Luckely my 2 other villains that will hit 41 have no patron in their build, so i will skip it entirely.

Sinergy *you could (and may want to) still run the Patron arcs for the merits, if not for any other reason.

But honestly, at that time of night, who do you expect to be playing except insomniacs, RMT farmers or people with crazy work hours (whom I'm sure there shouldn't be many about...).
I know it's none of my business but don't you have any way of playing a bit earlier when more people are around?

I just love the patron arcs, and the fact that it actually means something when you do them. I think the patron arcs are mostly well designed, and have some cool features you might not see in the game before those.
It surely would be fun to be able to do them in teams, with all the AV's, but unfortunately you don't see many people interested in helping out. Still, at lvl 40+ I think every AT can solo the Patron arc that gives you access to the powers - at least with low rep IMHO.

can be abit slow but i find them worth while and do enjoy some of the arcs/m,issions some ofc i hate but hey u cant win 24/7. and it just shows that heroes r just too easy once again.
I have a suggestion...
Have the patron arc missions give account wide badges (villain side) once complete,
Which would then give the option to skip that patrons arc on alternate (villain) characters on that account.

I like not ever having to do Black Scorpians ever again and being able to flip between Maco and Sirocco instead and just pick a patron after at the moment. Not having to do them again would be nice though, but still keeping them in the game. Hell I'd love to be able to do all 4 on one character just for when I cant be bothered to find a team at level 43 and am stuck with stupid co-op content as my only course of action. Just make them normal arcs and let villains choose, the face you dont have to take the powers from the patron anymore has already made them meaningless, having them also be pointless at the same time seems foolish

On the hero side, no quest needed to unluck the epic pool, just pick it when you reach 41.
Now i'm AGAIN doing this quest chain, virtualy nobody around to even help me, but why is this chain still needed? Since Patron pools are also respecable, i dont see any use in doing the story.
I've been doing a hossy rescue mission for 3 times now, because that retarted ..... just wonders of to nearly every mob he can find on the map. He doesnt understand ignite, so happy standing there watching his HP burn down in seconds (im on lowest difficulty btw).
So i say, remove the quest line, it has no use anymore (apart from the story, wich i done 5 times now already).
