Hmmm I disagree with that, the sg I'm in has gone from nowhere to 6th over the past few months, we don't farm at all, we just try to recruit committed players who play very regularly and have fun. We achieved our high ranking by having regular sg teams and tf's. Our team of leaders are proud to be in the top 10 as we feel we've got there the right way.

That's kinda my point though.. The people who have gotten there the "right" way, through hard work and playing the game the way it was designed to be played DO deserve to be in that list, and quite rightfully so!
But, as a lot of the groups in there didn't, I feel that it tends to devalue the whole point of the list in the first place...

Yup, It's personal preference. Once you've been through level 50 once, it's a dull experience twice. I have run through that MA mission on a number of occasions and I thoroughly enjoy it. I shouldn't be classified as a "bad person" if I do it, because I've learnt the game, and actually bothered to play it properly. But...there comes a time where you get bored, and MA is the way forward. And like Hey Farmer said, the majority of people do it - everyone (except 2) I have asked to join my team have and have enjoyed MA.

I know where you're coming from FFM, I just wanted to make it clear that not all sg's on that list have got there due to farming. In fairness it doesn't bother me if other sg's are there due to farming (although I'll admit farming is lost on me and I don't understand why people want to bore themselves like that 
), in fact in someways it feels more of an achievement getting there without it 
Our aim was never to race up the top 100, but just to be a good sg, where people can hang out and have fun, so our current ranking is a bonus anyway

And tbh over the year i've been playing i have earned close to 2 million prestige across all my toons by just playing the game. the rare occasions i farm i turn sg mode off.

Well, seeing as most of the people in that list ARE prestige farmers, I'm hardly going to let devaluing their achievement bother me, am I?
And I'm not blaming the MA for it either... All the top 10/100/whatever lists in this gave have pretty much ALWAYS been dominated by the farmers or PLers. The simple action of what they do means the most prolific ones will always dominate those lists.
If people want to farm, I hope they enjoy it. But it's kinda silly to pretend that it's some kind of impressive achievement if a farmer hits a top 10/100 list IMO.

Asking people to be in SG mode is not in my opinion farming prestige. It just builds up as a result of doing whatever your doing dosent it? Or am i missing something?

I think this is being looked at in completely the wrong way.
If the top 100 is dominated by farmers. Surely an SG that doesn't farm being in the top 100 is more of an achievment? This is because all the Farming SGs earn their prestigue at an extremely fast rate, so those that do it by doing TFs and teaming in SG mode should be more proud of themseleves? (either that or the farmers are S***.)
It brings more value to the list, as although the 100-90th place is easy to get too with lack of active SGs, rising and beating the farmers is quite an achievment.

my definition would be someone who actively pursues prestige by repeating a high reward(more inf, more prestige) low risk mission.
Well, my SG's been going for over a year, and we've only just hit it. Granted it's been closed for a few months, but we've done it mostly by normal means.
Farming came about (for me) 2 weeks ago when I rejoined, and found out MA .

No doubt there are shades of grey here, however I always view farming as a team who deliberately reset and restart certain missions over and over or exploit MA weaknesses. Things like double xp weekends are there for all.

I was only using that as an example to show that as their is no clear view on farming that everyone can agree on, there is no point in even going on about the farming in this thread.
Some people would class doing radio missions over and over as farming (no resetting and restarting there)
Others would class doing TFs many times a week in SG mode as farming
There are so many people that say So many different kind of things about farming that to alot of people every single SG in the top 100 has farmed at some point.
