Purchasable Veteran
ok then from all the feedback Ive given it some thaught:
you can purchase only your next reward thats coming up, but only for a 30 month trail, like test before you get and which would or wouldnt work with your character before you make the wrong choice (pets, powers ect)
no badge included or the ability to purchase the next one after it until the real veteran reward arives
A total of 14 of my nerves have been harmed in the making of this post...

i see nothing wrong with it, you get the reward, but not the badge....doesn't really spoil anything ether.
[/ QUOTE ]
The fact that you can't see what is wrong with this suggestion speaks volumes.
Tell you what, let's take it a step further.
Why don't the devs introduce these as well as instant full vet rewards:
Pay for instant level 50's.
Pay for instant every badge.
Pay for instant fully equipped SG base.
Pay for instant fully kitted out Purple IO character (of your choice naturally)
Let's take it a step further and have the devs bring in a special Uber Multi purchase that gives you everything that the game has to offer.
That way you won't need to play it at all, and you can just pretend that you have.
Sounds good, yes?

I already purchase my Veteran Badges its my sub.
still no in my opinion ,its all part of the game trying out powers/sets its a learning curve on which other people can help with/advise on (ideally vets who have been in that situation before ).
i do see where you are going with this but a veteran reward is for time spent playing !!
he he paying for instant 50's no point as it only takes about 3-4 hours in m/a at the moment !!!

Well the latest patch is just out, so I don't know if it will still be 3-4 hour 50's now.
I'm about to check it out.

Cobra may have delivered an agreement with a bit more Venom (pun intended), but I'm glad he agrees with my point. Veteran rewards are given out for PLAYING the game. Not PAYING it.

Umm, not entirely true. They are based on subscription time (both payed for and free time like from the Mac Pack) that has elapsed. There is no requirement to actually PLAY that game during this time.
Ok, ok, pick hairs. You knew where I was coming from. A 'paying, account activated member of the community in some form or another'.
How about 'patron'?

Would that make us patronising? Cos it seems appropriate.
The only thing I would like but i know will never happen is that I made my account in august 2006 but currently only have 15 month vet reward. I wouldnt mind paying extra to make ALL the months since aug 2006 count towards my veteran badges.

I dunno on union theres a badge hunter that was sad that he couldnt purchase the veteran badges.
He reached 600 or was it 500 badges as a 3 month vet.
Which is awesome but he cant break top 10 without the veteran badges.

Couldn't we start the 'Dumb' line of badges then?
£10 - I'm Dumb
£50 - I'm Really Dumb
£250 - I may be the Dumbest Person in my Postal Region
£500 - I should Seek Help
£1000 - Why am I single?
£10000 - I'm Soon to be Bankrupt
Little development needed and they'd bring in additional revenue.
EDIT: Obviously character-centric badges - so you'd need to buy them for each badging alt.

True but you do not get badges for paying for the sub, you get the badges once you "played" the duration.
Weather you just let accout sit still or actually were logged in during the played time is an altogether diffrent matter.
So Cobra is indeed spot on.

This speaks a volume or two, it really does.
Are people REALLY this dense? Sheesh.
This will never happen. Unless CoX really has gone to the dogs. Get over it.

Except 'playing' implies logging in and participating in the game. You get the badge for having had an active(read paid for, not used) account for the set amount of time.
ok, I think we all missed my previos post. TRAIL versions for playing with them before you get them, mainly for testing or for a bit of fun
go back to page 3 and revise, then you'll get the info you need rather than rambling on and on and on and on and on and on....
...and on ¬_¬

You may be slightly disappointed as the veteran award powers are mostly already in game items but rather than oh a Nemesis Staff or the tp team temp from bank mission's for for 2 days its permanent.
Oh and slightly confuse as all these messages are an 1 page for me not 3.

you are a bit dense here, vet rewards unlock costume pieces and some bonus things, that's all.
what you are saying is that it ruins the game, giving everyone the awesome button or the insta-win skill.....really dense.

And this is already in game. It's called going out there and doing the missions that give you these temp powers.

Sure, it isn't game breaking.
But its the effort/time/money put in.
Someone who has the veteran awards will (unless they have been ill/indesposed/kinda odd) have played for that ammount of time.
Its a Veteran REWARD.
In fact, suggesting that theres nothing wrong with getting the reward but no badge could be seen as equally dense.

someone that buy's the rewards also takes money/time/effort in it, but then all at ones.
also, it's already rare enough to see anyone with a 52 vet reward simply because ppl get bored with the game really fast, nothing really new to do is only lowering the fanbase.
i'm open minded here, just looking to the logic behind it.
vet rewards are there to lore players to keep paying for it, but lately ppl get more adult and see it's not worth the money.

So you're saying that, for many people, the game isn't worth subbing to for 52 months, but it is worth paying 52 months worth of subs to get vet rewards which don't really impact the game?

Uhm....maybe cos the Game only JUST hit 60 months? And that only those who have been in since BETA will have that many months in vet awards? And only if they've taken no breaks?
You speak of logic. Kindly enlighten me with yours? Im having difficulty finding it.
Time subbed = 60 months
Money paid = 60 months worth
Rewards = 60 Month Vet Award
You seem to be suggesting;
Time subbed = 3 months
Money paid = 60 months all in one go
Rewards = 60 month vet awards
Which is wrong on so many different levels.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Because it's a 'reward'. The 'achievement' that it is 'awarded' for is for being active for that amount of time. They might as well call them 'payment badges', rather than 'veteran rewards'
