As i have no problem with the rest of what you said i will deal with this. Its a small thing about smilies the one with the tongue sticking out is the equivalent of a a blown raspberry which you used and not a "yes we are all in on whatever you are discussing and oh what a joke it is" which i believe you were aiming for which would be a smirking smiley 
. You may know what you mean but its interpretation is changed. Its a small distinction but a vital one much like the use of a comma such as this classic example.

It was a post just digging a bit of fun, not malicious or anything, but if you want to take that attitude, the US have been more than xenophobic in the past about EU folk.
I did not see people in the EU forums making the same error or I would have taken the p1ss there too.

Prejudice and xenophobia is a serious business and if i sit back and let others do such abuse i am just as guilty as the original perpetrator.
So i took offence to what i took as a glib remark condoning such practice, if that makes me serious so be it. As far as i am concerned this a board to which i come to for genteel fun and humility not to confront such prejudiced opinions intentional or not.

If you don't see a problem with this then i believe that the idea of an EU community is beyond hope and that the proposed board merger cannot come soon enough.

As for my personal view on all the junk that gets spouted on hear and lets face most any public forum's you come across. Take with a pinch of salt as the saying goes. I'm sure the devs will as they come across as having a modicum of sense at times.
You will find that most of us arent real prejudicial towards Americans apart from the stupid minority. We do however like taking the micky out of them as we do of our selves.
The fact that some of us (me included) feel let down by the devs on the states side. Doesn't mean we don't respect them for what they have achieved in the past. Currently however the lack of information the lack of "respect" if you will from them to there EU customers is what drives the malcontents.
It would not take much for this to change, just 1 dev coming on to our boards say once a week or even once a month just to say hi we havent forgotten you.
Them giving us a time table for the improvement of the forum. Even a reason for why it hasn't been improved yet would be nice. This small thing would stop a good 50% of the complaints alone. (50% is a bit far fetched as FFM has stopped posting as much :P) Another small thing what would it take for the guy posting the update notes on the US boards (or anything else for that matter) to copy past and post hear. If you look you will fine most updates and information poster here is done by forum members trolling the US boards (No this not a pop at the guys on this side of the pond not doing there job and posting things. As whos going to go in to post stuff at some ungodly time in the morning)
This lack of any sort of interaction between the DEV's and it's EU customers has been going on for along time and is the main reason for complaint's.
