Actually, given that facing is unimportant in CoX, movement is actually somewhat less of a factor than in some (many) other games. In WoW, for example, learning to run around someone, keeping their back to you, while still facing them gives you some considerable advantage.
The combat mechanics of CoX are actually very simplistic, and the bunny hopping is generally just a frustration for those trying to hit someone like that. Especially if they, in turn, can hit you no matter what you do since they have ranged attacks.

i12 PvP - Hunter, in the wild, trying to get that elusive kill...a challenge and rewarding if successful.
i13 PvP - Hunter, in a zoo...pick a cage, any cage.
The fast paced action is what sets (or rather used to) CoX apart from all other MMO PvP. And its that which makes it a challenge. I play a scrapper in pvp, and its so rewarding getting a kill due to these difficulties.
But if you don't like a challenge, then maybe Solitaire is a better game for you. Lucky christmas is coming, santa might bring you a copy.

Depends on which melee toon I am playing at that time. But stupidly running after them with waving arms or begging them to come closer are not part of my repertoire with any toon.

I think that the whole pvp camp is divided into two (rough) sections.
Those who believe that things such as movement, speccing out a build and the "rock, paper scissors" of I12 pvp is best.
And then there are those that think diminishing returns, movement suppression and *I13 balancing* are best.
I have an answer as to how to decide this ..

This would probably lead on to more arguments and endless debates from both sides, as well as comments from those who think they know what they are talking about when it comes to pvp when infact they don't pvp at all (or ever have pvp'ed).
The phrase "vicious circle" springs to mind.
But I'd be well up for that, just so that I can get some pvp action.

Tbh anyone who thinks melee toons suck when fighting ranged toons (and i really mean this) ask for a duel with Shotta's BS/Fire scrapper (Akala) or his Fire/SS tank (BlazinShotta)
I 100% guarantee you will lose no matter what ranged toon you want to put against him. He'll have no trouble getting in range for any of his attacks.
