Poor poor sunstorm, being involved in both powers AND bases . . . . . lets pray he does everything perfect or the guys over there will let him know whats what for sure.
Edit: Ok judging by his posts so far, he actually seems to have big plans and wants to please the target audience correctly.

New members of the recently expanded dev team starting to interact with the community is clearly just a cover for upcoming closure of the game - the only remaing question is whill the last server shut down on Monday or Tuesday?

I am furious that they haven't provided us with a scehdule for the next 5 years of content, with an exact time and release date for each Issue and patch.

Hopefully Sunstorm will do a good job of giving bases love. I'm not too happy about base changes atm.

The list is getting smaller every day
But no its good to see new devs, be nice if they said hello over here to so we can welcome them to the EU forums.
I like Synapse so far. I was very happy with his Q and A and have no objections to what was said.
Some people that have had objections to that Q and A seem to be rather self absorbed thinking only for themselves and how things effect 'them'. I much rather a system in place where there isn't a huge divide between the haves and the have nots. Playing on different servers on peak and off peak I see how things are different for different people. Sure earning merits is slower for those who solo but it doesn't take too many merits to get the key IOs to make their characters "just so" soon enough. It's not going to be exactly fair to start with, never is, but its all in a good direction.
I am happy with the thinking behind it.
I like base changes that mean making a better base sooner so yeah I like Sunstorm too.

Yeah it would be nice but I think they might be a little frightened due to the terrible reception BaB got when he put in an appearance. (Not targetting that at anyone in particular btw.)
That and the fact they need an EU accout to be set up to be able to post over here. (I seem to remember that was the delay with BaB being able to post over here from his intro thread a while back)

I almost feel sorry for them... I hope they manage to keep as thick a skin as BaBs and Castle seem to.
I think that Synapse did a good job of calming my concerns on the merit system, but I'm not completely sold just yet

Well lets face it, every weekend on the European forums is like a horror movie, where everyone locks their doors and stays inside, crippled with fear and grasping some sort of family heirloom pistol or hunting rifle in trembling hands. Every now and then you can hear some errant shots as flesh eating beasts kick their way into a thread and murder everyone inside, while the family in the thread next door sits in their attic crying and hoping they're going to be overlooked this time around.
Those unlucky enough not to die get dragged into whatever large thread is playing host to this weekends dark festival of depraved comments and relentless hatred, where they will be cast screaming into the great bonfire.
By Monday morning GhostRaptor comes back, bringing with him the new dawn, shouts his warcry*, and sets about killing any of the unholy ravagers still stupid enough not to have fled back into a dark hole until the next weekend.
