Lower subscripstion fee
Isn't CoH one of the few lower monthly subs MMOs on the market?
While I would obviously love a lower subscription fee, I am not willing to pay for that with fewer, lower quality updates. I believe, Phantoms, your view of the market to be wrong. If people aren't willing to pay the rate it's at, they probably aren't willing to pay for a subscription-based game.
Also, since you did it to me about IOs: give me a reference for those people saying they thought it was too expensive.

I remember a few experenices in-game and on the forums people complaining, although Search here sucks, you just gotta trust me on this one mate.
And also that's a fair point, but even if they took £1 off I would be pleased. Even if it's just a little change.
Just pay for it in 6 monthly chunks. If you're concerned about paying over £100 a year, 2 shots of £44 (or whatever it be nowadays) will be a godsend.

I'm still fairly disappointed (for whatever reasons) that the EU game doesn't offer Annual subscriptions. The US game does (or at least did).
I'd pay annual or lifetime on any MMO that offered it (that I enjoy of course).

I would very seriously consider a lifetime subscription deal on this game. I regret shutting my subscription down for the period I did, but I wasn't playing it and I'd just lost my job. This is one game I can see myself coming back to, unless CO turns out to be wonderful, which I'm sorry to say I doubt.

No put subs up so we can get some good updates
Bad idea, this game needs more not less money, and i cant see making it cheaper getting any new players.
Lowering the cost wouldn't raise the perceived value for the majority of the existing or potential customer base.
It'd do the opposite.

i know around 6 ppl already that can say different, that, and the fact that they get more money then they can spend.(COX isn't the only game NCsoft makes.)
It's odd, I had a good idea what your post would say before I looked at it, sorudo.

Not a good idea. Less moeny in, less updates out. Less gfx stuff, less...everything.
Its hardly crippling, is it?

I'll 3rd the suggestion for annual payments or a lifetime sub option (though cant see them offering a lifetime one at this point)
I concur with the idea that lowering the price wouldn't bring more players to this game. You either like it and pay up or don't.
Plus, they could lower the subscription fees. But then that will be the end to new issues. I am convinced that that will be the end of the game. So no thanks.

As this game gets older, it becomes more and more "worse for vaule" because there is better games for equal or even lower prices. So, now it's time to make a start. I've seen that the one thing that put people off is the price. Paying over £100 a year is definetely not on, for lots of people. There needs to be a drop in sub price if NC wants more people into the game.
Anyway, comment, sign, unsign, whatever

Before I started on MMOs and while I lived in the big city, I would go out most Friday and Saturday nights, most weeks those two days would absorb over £100 (£50 each), now I can get a whole years entertainment for the same price...

I tend to agree with that reasoning, and to add my reason why, I personally dont see it as a big price to pay either, I currently pay for this and an annual sub to XBL so that plus CoX (and the odd game extras I purchase) brings it to around £150 a year for all combined, now considering I am budgeting a Gaff for me and the missus as I am the only bread winner with her being a student bum, plus rising bills etc etc, I still dont find that drumming up that amount is a big deal..I can spend that on one weekend out
Now before the backlash hits I understand completely that some people are younger players maybe not in full time employment or students etc and it can seem difficult to justify the prices but as I said....in the grander scheme of things if you love the game and you - like me - appreciate the free updates we get, its not a high price to pay in the long run.
I for one would rather it stay at the level it is or even raised a little more for higher budgets on the issues.....to drop it would just prove the dooomsayers right.
Now this is purely my opinion relating from my own RL situation and I am not saying it applies to everyone (just so you know )

I, personally, although I could pay in 6 month chunks easily and save myself cash, prefer to pay monthly and give NC the full subscription fee! I happed to think the game is WORTH it and gladly do without the discount.
Maybe I'm mad, but there ya go.

But aye I agree with FFM, as I have stated I do believe that its worth the price it is, considering the cost of other games out there that I have tried and been left feeling empty....and yes I know the game isnt perfect, yet our updates are free, the community is (on the whole) excellent....so bang for buck its the best fun I can have for £100 per annum that doesnt give me a hangover in the morning or have me waking up face down in my own drool in a random apartment

I'm perfectly happy with the subscription fees at present. I also currently play Final Fantasy XI, which has a much higher cost, so perhaps I'm just used to paying more for my MMO's. All the same, I know the funding they gain from our fee's goes towards some good quality work. I've seen the evidence in the updates over the 15 or so months I've been playing, and they always find a way to surprise me it seems.
I'm not wealthy person, but im more than willing to pay for a service I think is worth the cost.
Characters:
The Heroic Mary Grace (50)
The Mystical Thunderspark (50)
The Candy-loving Little Jenny (50)
Aye very true, the price is reflective of the value you get, I pay in 3 monthly blocks for my account and every month for my Girlfriends account.
It's one of the cheapest subs in the business, no doubt, and well worth any of the monthly rates that you can pay. 3 months just gives me a little bit of breathings space what with the rest of the stuff that I have to sort out :P
Oh and I'm by no means rich...:P

I pay monthly so if I want to stop, I can quickly. I've never stopped my CoH/V sub though (although am thinking of skipping an issue soon so that I get enough content in one hit to keep me happy for a while, I might be getting burned out)
