Patrol experience.....

If I have read the experience bonus part of patrols right, they are now making it so that you either have patrol experience or you turn it off, but turning it off turns off ALL experience.

This is the lamest thing I have read yet. Why cant they just ditch the thing and leave it as it is, or just have patrolling exp toggled off.

Some of the decisions lately really seem to have been made by goldfish.

Yes, ED, GDN, the I13 PvP changes and recently reversed APP/PPP power replacements all pale into nothing as compared to a bit of extra xp you can turn off if you want.

Sense of proportion ---> that way.

If it was just turning that off, then i wouldnt have posted, but obviously you didnt read the post.

If you turn it off, it turns off ALL exp earning, at least thats the way the description came across.

I dont think that can be right, but if it is your just going to have to turn it on again when you want some xp, how is that hard?

you don't HAVE to log out "On patrol"

No, I read the post.

If extra xp is a problem for you, clearly earning xp isn't a priority, so switching the toggle and turning off gains for a while (or a long time) presumably won't be an issue.

Edit: Which is an aside from the eyebrow raising bit I was originally responding too, that On Patrol and/or the xp toggle is "the lamest thing [you] have read yet".

You sure about that? The way it reads is that when logged off you are ALWAYS on patrol.

Hmmm... I read it that you either log out at a Day Job location where you get progress towards your day job badge and no XP or if you don't get to log out in a Day Job location you log out as 'On Patrol' and get patrol XP. If that's true just log out in one of the Day job locations or even your SG base and that should stop you getting any free XP.

Even if you log at a day job location, it is assumed you have still spent some time on patrol so patrol XP is for all no matter where you log.

Anyway, can't see why turning XP on/off is such a big deal.

I dont mind earning xp, I just dont like being forced to take it, particularly at low levels when its hard to try to get things done anyway.

Turning PATROL xp off is not a problem, but why should people have to turn off ALL xp for the sake of an addition to the game that I didnt want in the first place.

Why is clicking something on and off such a problem.

Theres loads of things forced on people in this game that are a problem, this one is just a non runner as far as problems go.

Because it aint even forced on you.

The way I read it you are only "On patrol" if you log off where NO OTHER day job is. Thus, if you log off at a Hospital (for example) you are not On Patrol and won't earn double xp.

I may be wrong. It's known to have happened.

That was how it was announced ages ago, later they modified it. Anyway with all the I13 controversial changes, can't see the relevance of a thread complaining about turning a feature on/off tbh.

Anything optional is good or at least not bad.

The only experience i wanna turn off is the extra patrol experience, I dont wanna turn all the normal experience off too, so how do I do that ?

I was just making a post, Nightmare, about something I didnt particularly like. I didnt realise I needed your permission to make sure it is on your okay list!!

To be honest, I dont know why I bother, as I am getting more than a little fed up with being jumped on by the same bunch of posters every time I post.

Please direct me where it says that you are always On Patrol when you log off, even if you do it where a specific Day Job is (e.g. at the Tailor). It would not make a lot of sense thematically...

Anyway, I think I read it was only double xp toward a single "bulb" of xp, so not such a big thing...

It's not 100% clear what they mean, but the most likely interpretation of what they say in this:

[ QUOTE ]
In addition to all of the Day Jobs, every character is "On Patrol" after they log out of the game. When players log back into Paragon City or the Rogue Isles they will gain 1 bar of double experience (when defeating enemies) for every 24 hours they are logged out.

[/ QUOTE ]
...suggest you get On Patrol benefits as well as day job bonuses, not "instead of".

Nope, on the link above you get this:

[ QUOTE ]
In addition to all of the Day Jobs, every character is "On Patrol" after they log out of the game. When players log back into Paragon City or the Rogue Isles they will gain 1 bar of double experience (when defeating enemies) for every 24 hours they are logged out. A player can earn up to 10 bars of double experience this way. Double experience is shown as a blue portion of your experience bar. One thing to note is that if a player has any experience debt, the debt will be removed first before any double experience is applied.

If your character has a number of bars of double experience that exceeds the number of experience bars you need to level up, then this double experience will carry over to the next security/threat level.
