GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I picked up the only part of the thread that's remotely objective - the introduction of a completely irrelevant topic you feel strongly about.
Attempting to argue the "they gang up"/"it's not a conspiracy" bit would be futile, as it's entirely subjective on each side; I know what you're saying isn't right, you insist it is, and hold fast to that position. What's to discuss?
Edit: Actually, my mistake - the first requirement for posting you thought "we" had was "You think the game is perfect and cannot be improved", and that can be objectively disproved. In light of this I guess I'll have to leave the angry mob.

1) Check the suggestions board - the number of suggestions that have been derailed because people disagree with them speak for themselves
2) Was I refering to you personally?
3) No need to get personal - I respect others points of view even if I believe they have there head in the sand, you can respect a point of view and still disagree, IF (I believe) you are willing to at least look at the other point of view and try to understand it.
4) Was I saying there was / is a problem? I was mearly pointing out that some people have become very aggressive in their point of view that there is no population problem and have because almost nasty in some of their posts on the subject - which may have had the affect of stopping people wanting to post their point of view out of fear of being shot down in flames.
Now - please - lets not derail this thread anymore.
Disagreeing with a suggestion someone makes is perfectly valid, especially if accompanied by a reason as part of a debate (as was the case in this thread; borderline in some cases, but not across the line). Telling someone not to post because their ideas are stupid is not allowed, however, as that constitutes trolling and/or a personal attack.
Let me make this clear: everyone is entitled to post their opinion on the topic of a thread, whether that is in agreement or disagreement. The only people who get to decide on whether a topic is allowed on the forums are the Moderators.

GR, as you're reading, do you know, or can you ask, if the devs are planning for there to be a way to disable Patrol XP without disabling normal XP earning as well?
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people who still want to earn XP, but don't want to earn DOUBLE XP, and at the moment it appears to not be possible to do that unless you play every character all day every day (which isn't actually possible!).

Does the bar full up for every minute you are offline? Or is it only every 24 hours? Cos you could just log in with every toon every day. (A real pain I know, just curious)

I'll ask and pass along the feedback from this thread. I think the option was added in response to feedback we provided (and have been consistently providing since Issue 12) that many in the community over here was getting a little worried about the rate of gain for XP becoming too fast. We specifically mentioned Patrol XP as being the key concern of late, and I'll definitely include this into our next feedback report.

Yes, you're missing something here. What's the one thing that a lot of people ask for when there's a DXP weekend about to start? They ask for a way to NOT get it. Some people want to earn the normal rate of XP whilst they play. They don't want to turn it off completely, and they don't want DXP, they just want the normal rate.
I really don't think it's too big a request, do you? It wouldn't be a problem if you didn't earn Patrol XP in Day Job locations, but you do so it's impossible to avoid it.

Well, as my dad always says... if you don't ask, you don't get!
My biggest concern here is outlevelling story arcs. I don't want to have to go back and do them in Ourobouros (I dislike expemping to be honest), and I also would rather play whilst still earning rewards, so shutting the XP off altogether isn't an option for me either. All I want to do is continue to play normally, getting XP that I've actually earned rather than XP that's been given to me for not playing...
Sure, on SOME characters I fully intend to make use of Patrol XP... But there are others that I just don't want it.

Good luck with that.
Avoid: no....mitigate: yes.
Besides the amount you gain from the patrol xp is very low. A regularly used character would eat it up fairly quickly.
I'd have thought that being able to turn xp off altogether would be a dream come true to some of the folks who dont like the levelling speed. Ahh well guess you cant please everyone.
I'm quite happy with the patrol experience myself, not only is it a pleasing shade of blue, it gives you that extra boost on a character you haven't played for a while.
I don't wanna save my soul now,
I just wanna lose control,

By shutting off the XP though, you still earn inf/prestige/salvage drops/recipes etc.
So, can't you just shut it off while you do the story arcs you want, then turn it on and run through any double xp bars you've got therby getting to the same point you might've done at normal xp rate doing said story arcs?

Agreed FFM, and some like Caverns of Transcendence are hard to get anyway, and then I dont think you can get it in Outborous.
All these people refusing to understand it as a problem, well thats fine for you, but some of us want to play the game as intended and how it has been for the last 4 years xp wise, so maybe they could have the patrol xp off by default so you lot can turn it on every day.

Edit: Here's what the text for the badge (before you earn it) says: "Earn 30 bars of Patrol Experience to obtain this badge. (NOTE: Level 50 characters earn this badge by spending time logged off.)"
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that is quite common sence right?
1 bub is 24 hours, 30 bub 30 days. But your max is 10 bubs, thus you have to get rid of some. But if you clear 5 gain 5 clear 5 gain 5, whatever, you can only earn them by being off for 24h and below the 10 allowed bubs.
You earn a bar when you logged out, you 'spent' it when DXp'ing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know that, but some people suggested it doesn't work that way and that there isn't a cap that you have to work off.
To check which theory is right, I just logged in a character that's been copied over and marked as being offline for 12 days. As expected I had 10 bars of patrol xp there, and the progress bar for the Patrol xp badge was at 33.33% (10 bars out of 30) so there *is* a cap for how much progress you can get without doing anything in-game contrary to what some people think:
[ QUOTE ]
The badge is earned by being logged off for 30 days, regardless of how many bars you of dXP you gain.
[/ QUOTE ]
Anyway, here's a picture. You'll see there that the patrol xp progress bar is stuck at 1/3, while the one for Monitor Duty (logged out by the base portal) is longer than that (it's at 42.39%), clearly showing that the character's been logged out for longer than 10 days.
