Patrol experience.....

I logged in on my Mastermind in Grandville on Test a few days ago, he had about 3 bulbs of the On Patrol experience.

I believe its for every period of inactivity so that if you were offline for a year you won't get eleventy million* bars of double xp 
* could not be bothered to work out exactly how much DXP would come from a year offline :P

Thats how I read it too. Altough being off line for a year would give you 365 bars, being that it's 1 bar for 24 hours.

There's a limit to how many bars can be won with the method per time you log out: 10 bars. If you log out for 10 days, then log in the counter is reset and you have ten bars to spend. Let's say you expend one bar and then log out for 5 days. You still will only have 10 bars when you log back in, not 14. So, no 365 bars if you log out for a year I'm afraid.
As for the turn on/off XP, I really can't see what the confusion is about. Unless you're confusing the On Patrol Day Job with the On Patrol activity, i.e. running around zones killing stuff.
It's an option you can turn on and off whenever you like so you can experience as much or as little of the game as fast or as slow as you want. I really can't see what you find wrong about it. More so when you have to accumulate one day of offline time to benefit from it. And Ouroboros is there if you want to experience any content you might eventually have missed?
I'm sure people who play often with their characters won't see much of a difference... YMMV.

TBH, whether they announced it or not, if you try it out on Test, you get Patrol XP whenever and where ever you log out.

I'll let you know when the feature gets implemented on this side of the pond but I'd go with a tentative yes... as what you're getting isn't XP when you log off but a cyan bar of something (I'll call it dXP) that can be utilized later.

Someone said somewhere that it's unavailable after level 44. Not sure if thats right or not, but it was posted somewhere.

Some of my characters could strongly benefit from this system (Hey, I have a lot of characters, some of them get left behind!) and im having a play with the test server to see if I can work it out on my own, but my maths is almost as bad as my hair was this morning...

The max you can have is 10 bars, or one level.

I doubt that, since (like FFM says) the max you can have at any one time is ten bars. The requirement for the badge by far exceeds that. I'm not 100% sure (not logged in on the training room at the moment), but I think you need 60 bars of it for the badge.
Edit: It's 30 bars of patrol xp, not 60.
The feature has nothing to do with the badge. The badge is earned by being logged off for 30 days, regardless of how many bars you of dXP you gain.
And having just tested it for a day, turning off the XP gain doesn't affect the the blue bar: if fills up just the same. You do have control of when to use though...
Also, the feature turns off any and all XP you can earn. Quite interesting if you ask me, especially for people who want to do all the content for a level range.

The description needs to be changed then. It says it's related to how many bars of patrol xp you gain, except for level 50 characters.

Well that is quite common sence right?
1 bub is 24 hours, 30 bub 30 days. But your max is 10 bubs, thus u have to get rid of some. But if u clear 5 gain 5 clear 5 gain 5, whatever, you can only earn them by being off for 24h and below the 10 allowed bubs.
You earn a bar when u logged out, you 'spent' it when DXp'ing.

Join the club - these forums are fast becoming a joke - and not a funny one. It seems that you can only post if
1) You think the game is perfect and cannot be improved
2) You spend more time in the forum then you do in game
3) You think anyone who has a different point of view is wrong
and finally -
4) You chant "there is no server population problem" over and over in the hope that it will brain wash the people who have a different point of view into agreeing with you

I stand corrected.
But it does not make sense thematically. Character Double-Shift-Worker-Man is On Patrol AT THE SAME TIME that he is working at City Council... no wonder all the paperwork (mostly SG registration forms) accumulates on his desk!
