I dunno... Have you any idea just how expensive ankle length leather coats, in red, ARE in my size?

Dune MMO? That would be interesting.....As long as you got to ride the sand worms

And provided you got the chance to play Harkonnen, as well as Atriedes *knows he spelt it wrong but is too lazy to leave the site and track down the proper spelling*

As for cosplay have no fear: I shall not be coming as Delph or Sic, as the sight of me naked to the waist is not something I wish to inflict on the public. Nor shall I be coming as Darlis or Booble as spandex doesn't suit and I just dont have the natural female attributes. I shall be going as purest Rodrigues P Beaumares IV

All in all, looking forward to this, hope it's as packed with stuff as last year.....I dare anyone to go up to Henry Winkler and do Fonzy impressions....or alternativelly get him to sign an inflatable shark.

I had a cunning plan involving transparent balloons and a shedload of helium to tackle that...

Of course. Doesn't everyone have a potting shed for storing excess nobel gasses? I have a number of heavy objects tied to it as anchors, obviously.

If I ever need to make a quick getaway I just run out the back into the shed, cut the anchor ropes and shout "So long suckers" in a high-pitched Joe Pascali voice as I float away.

I don't have noble gass storage, but the door to my personal plutonium store is wedged open with a gold brick.

(If anyone understands that reference, I'll be amazed.)

Costumes are not necessary. I've been to several 'stands' at Comic Con, and never gone dressed up. Stop trying to scare people off who have never been! :P

Although.... I will have blue hair... does that count?

I'll be there early Sunday morning, hopefully to get a collector's edition COV box. Also, to get to the front of the sketching queue!

Saturday for me, and similar reasons!

Must.. expand.. sketch.. collection.. talking.. like.. Shatner.. mandatory..

With my 16 DTWT sketches I think I might just have the largest collection... But then, as I'm in no possition to go to more then one (or 2) a year... someone might just have surpassed me...
In which case I'll happily claim the largest collection of DTWT sketches outside the UK

Quick update:

As noted above, we only have one dedicated sketcher each day (and 2 colourists). Kat will sketch as well if there's a gap in her schedule.

Anyway, I've drawn up their schedules for the days.

On Saturday:

* Mike is scheduled for 10 sketches.
* Kat and Jason are scheduled for 5 colours each.

On Sunday:

* Neil is scheduled for 8 sketches.
* Kat and Jason are scheduled for 4 colours each.

We've got reserve lists for all of them as well, so if they get through their schedules faster than anticipated we may be able to fit in 1 or 2 extras.

I think we can expect to get only one sketch and one colouring per visitor per day?

*checks his usb stick* hmmm, two sketches and two colourings planned... two of each in reserve too...

Maybe the price increase will put some off a little and allow me to get extra done?
Didn't think so... ah well.

It's 5am here, my plane goes in 4 hours 40 minutes, it's 2 and a half hours travel to the plane (not counting that it's rush hour ), a long wait and a 1 hour flight... and then I'll be in the even wetter and colder England! Woo!

Given that I've never been to the Birmingham expo before.... how long a queue are we looking at? I know the early entries are 10am (I've got my early ticket ), but is it the kind of event where people start queuing say...last friday? Or is it a 'get there at 9am' jobby?

If you've already got your ticket, then it shouldn't take too long to get in, probably longer walking to the hall it's held in too

If you don't already have your tickets... then I belive a 30 minute queue isn't that far off the mark.



I'm still in Holland, while I should have been in Brum according my flight schedual. 2 hours delay isn't fun, assuming it won't be more then 2 hours...
At least waiting for checking in at the hotel won't be so long.

Due to the sheer size of the event the entrance is pretty big, queue wise it gets eliminated very quickly. Plus as Shadowghost says above you have to actually get the part of the NEC where it's held. Which means you'll get to play with the travellators you'll want to walk at that speed forever.

Queues for the stall are a different ball game. Some of the regulars wont be there, so a few vaniquished places, but even so you have peeps gathering for their chance. No Aero to talk to though, I presume GR will have some new minions to help him with such things (for instance: to lure Mike Collins back to his desk when he wanders off). Plus Kat's great fun to talk to while peeps are sorting out their details.

Ooh just out of curiosity GR, last year we had a "mission" that you could complete to get a neat little reward, is anything like that going to happen again here? Maybe to get the PPD codes?

I'm afraid there's bad news. Mike Collins can't make it this weekend, so Saturday will be Kat and Jason only. That means even fewer sketches and colours. Well do what we can to get as many done as possible.

Aren't the PPD codes going to be given out to attendees anyway? Making 'missions' irrelevant...?

Kudos to Kat too as she took on an almighty task with aplomb....great to see everyone there, was great fun.

Went to the Memorabilia event for a totally unrelated reason, just happened to be wandering by the NCsoft stand (think I was being followed by a DALEK at the time) and got totally drawn in.

After quitting WoW earlier in the year, I needed something to fill the spare time void I now have... think this'll do just nicely
