Getting in £10 (IIRC, try checking the web site, it's on the main CoH web site page).
You'll want £15 for a pencil/ink drawing of one of your heroes. (You will want this. It's for charity, and if you don't want it, you're weird.) Remember to take reference material, see the FAQ which is in it's own thread.
Food: I'd take about £30, and try not to spend it all.

Activities: standing around the NC Soft stand looking at people and saying things like "Hey, aren't you Ravenswing?" or "My god, I thought you were a girl!" Saying hello to GhostRaptor and discovering that he doesn't hate your guts (well, Bridger didn't used to hate mine, GR could hate me, I dunno). Waiting in a queue for four hours to get your hero immortalised in ink (though it sounds vaguely like that may have improved).

In my case, assuming I do actually go (which depends on my state of depression Saturday morning and whether I wake up early enough without a blinding headache), I'm going to meet a few Roleplayers I haven't met before: primarily Happy_Dan, and Shadowe and Pix.

Well, typically in the past when we've attended an event like this the vast majority of players who show up have been CoH players. For whatever reason, we've not really had hordes of players from the other NCsoft titles attend.

ROFL. No... No, it won't be hard to spot them at all... Trust me.

Just find the NC Soft stand... CoH players will be obvious.

I'm sure there's some deeply meaningful psychological study to be had there. However, let's just narrow it down to CoH players actually being social.

There is also the DtWT thing, which is almost bound to draw comic book freaks more than the other titles.

Amazingly, I look really naff as a 19 year old teeange brunette when I actually a 44 year old guy (though actually, me and her have similar hair ). And if FFM ever dresses up as Ellie, we will have to call out the army.

No, costume is neither required, nor necessarily common, and it certainly isn't always a good idea.

You could dress as Spiderman... if you want to be laughed out of the NEC, sure.

Seriously, no need to dress up.

We're still looking at our options for 2009. That includes hopefully finding a venue to do something similar to teh Omega Sektor event from this year at Easter, but nothing is guaranteed at this stage.

can you please host it somewhere like leeds or shefeild...or even grimsby/cleethorpes (where sindrone livs)

The venue needs to be somewhere large, and somewhere central for as many people as possible.

As for pics, there sure are! Scroll the main forum list all the way to the bottom, and you'll find the (now locked) Omega Sektor subform for your reading pleasure. Loads of pics can be found in there.

Sounds like a good reason to stay at home.

It would be, indeed, however, that isn't the reason I likely won't be turning up afterall.

I give everyone my most solemn promise, on my childrens' lives, I will NEVER EVER turn up at a player meet, exhibition, or anything ELSE for that matter, dressed up as Ellie (or anyone else).

I do not cosplay. There will be no Sailor Bubba from me. I guarantee.
