So where is Defiants Zombies?

Don't wish to get flamed on my first post on the forums but I must say I wholeheartedly agree with Jade Warriors assesment of the situation; we pay a subscription to NCsoft for a service that is fast becoming a joke.

New developments are becomming consistantly flawed, if delivered at all. I am now seriously considering leaving the game after over 3 years as it just isn't fun for me anymore. Defiant IS dead most of the time, mapservers and bugs have increased in frequency, and the content and delivery of new issues has been flawed as of late.

And as JW says above, if we can't vent it here where can we?

Killed tons of tot's, GMs general baddies, tried cossies madly.

All I can think of is a RSF/STF or something similar. If it's chickenleg SF on villains I'll begin to cry btw.

and as for your time being wasted... What about the players time? Second day wasted sitting by the computer doing very little but getting aggravated so don't give us that (cencored, but think Penn & Teller show) GR. At least you get (cencored) payed while we (cencored) PAY for the (cencored) (cencored) so do..not..go..there...

If the community hadn't generated so many hours worth of unnecessary work for me over the weekend I would have been able to address this for you much sooner.

This possible issue is under investigation and I'll update this thread as soon as I know more.

There's every chance the event wasn't manually switched on at all - it was just a timer ticking away on the servers that enabled the event when the specified moment arrived.

In fact if the date was wrong (which it was!) it's much more likely it was a timer - it's far easier to type the wrong number into a database than it is to mix Sunday and Monday up and come into the office on the wrong day. And if the timer did trigger when no one expected it, there wouldn't be anyone on special monitoring duty to catch unexpected things happening.

"Expressing your feelings" isn't a free pass to rant away saying what you want as soon as something annoys you. Forum T&Cs don't get turned off when you have feelings, and if you (generic "you", not you in particular) decide to cut loose and spawn multiple threads of flamebait you'll have to live with the consequences. One of those consequences is GR having to take time to clean up afterwards.

In this particular case it says the forums are set up to discuss items and raise issues in a coherent way. Not to give people an open platform for any rants they have a whim to make.

I don't think GR was referring to people posting about the invasions not working, more likely the HUGE amount of posts on several threads about the same tired topic of population/server merges etc.

People saying the invasion not working is fair game, but that's not what was wasting GRs time today.

That's what triggers the rikti invasion, so might be as easy as that. You ppl go for it, do the RSF!

Seeing as this can't be WAI and therefore is horribly borked, could we at least have some hints on how to trigger the bloody thing please?

I mean, you don't have to tell us the trigger outright, but please, hint at how to do it. Or, fix the timers please.

Ok, 21.46 CET and I just chrashed due to those buggy new Nvidia drivers (well, they don't work well with CoX, that is) and not restarting computer since anyone at the cut-down Euro NC center has obviously quit for the day hoping this disaster will show the HQ they did a bad thing?

Another well done job keeping current customers happy and bringing in new ones. I'll make sure not to ever get addicted to any NC game again.

...back to Travian, it's free, bug-free and more fun! Thanks for keeping us posted GR & Co! I guess hunting down naughty people on the ancient forum is more important than wasting customers time. I'd like NC to pay for the aspirins I've used today!

FYI, someones doing a lower lvl, short SF soon so if any sf is a trigger you might get lucky in 1 - 1½ hour, if not...

We value your feedback, however you do need to keep it civil and constructive. Ranting doesn't help anyone and, if taken too far, may result in a warning or forum ban. That's odd. I updated my drivers few days ago, had no problems at all. Still few zombies though. A few jumped out of the ground at me yesterday morning, about half a dozen. I missed all the rest

Well, running vista, rather bad idea I tell ya... Ooooold drivers worked fine and new drivers really only seem to have a problem with CoX and crashes and really only if I switch between CoX and other programs (firefox etc). Now, vista recovers from the driver crash and no other program is ever affected, but the game will keep crashing the drivers immediately every time I start it from there on unless I restart the machine. So if you have some oold 88X drivers, keep them!!! ...oh, that was rather OT!

My xp machine works like a charm, but it's slow, lo-res and generally... not fun...

Anyone been on today? Have loads of work to do all afternoon, so not prepared to waste one more day just waiting. If I understand it correct it didn't work correctly last evening, invasions in all zones isn't supposed to happen?

Ah, I'm still using XP. Not changed to Vista yet and don't intend to do so until MS stop supporting XP. Been on most of the morning, no invasions.
