would be nice to just have one anomolly on the EU servers let alone 2.

I can get a team on defiant when I build them but it is more a case of see who is about and make do with SKs and stuff. So you may be right but I would like to be in a populated area thanks.

gotta agree i seem to have to build teams now days, especially with my 40ish blaster not so much because no ones on just no ones intrested in doing missions, if it was possible to move to the US for a fee i would do it, just to have a change, im not going to log on till I13 and hopefully that will rekindle some of the love i used to have for this game..otherwise its a long wait till champions

Taking this thread back to where it was...

This was *not* a discussion about the activity on the servers. I would appreciate it if those topics were discussed elsewhere, and I am sure that there are many threads where that can be discussed.

My thanks to GhostRaptor for your response. I must agree with Golden Girl though - can we get any more than a vague 'just wait and see', please?

I am glad that our concerns have been notes - but how many of our 'points' have been noted? Will we see the Fansite Alliance being refreshed, with dead applicants being removed and fresh applicants being considered? Will we see 'community' (note, not 'forum', but 'community') contributions (such as city sights, hall of fame, tip of the day') come back, or are these 'changes' so dramatic that they will all vanish?

Personally, if we're looking at an overhaul, I'd like to keep the fansite alliance as it is - just, 'fresher'.

K is hinting at something rather awesome . In the meantime, concerns of the OP noted and what I can say right now is that we're working on better things in the background. Stay tuned .

To take on the mantle of the curmudgeon cynic for once: Yeah, sure, such and such, so and so. Whatever. Could anyone wake me up when there's some actual news?

I don't know. Maybe it's just me needing a long break from the whole thing, but I feel like it's years since the community team seemed genuinely interested in the game, or the community. All the communications just seem so ... paint by numbers. Eh. Nevermind my maudling; just me needing a break, I guess.

Come on now, you know the Universal Law of Awesome - too much awesomness in one place at the same time can destroy the multiverse - that's why the I13 details are being released in parts, so that the awesomeness in each part will have had time to stabilize before the next part is released.

No No that was later supersided by what is generally refered to as 'No Way Law' Where even though the awesomeness might excist it will be rarely recognised or acknowledged and actually often met with aggresion or derision until a long time after the multiverse is safe again

What I wondering is - would it really be a *massive* problem to simply say 'the website is getting an overhaul, so thank you for your patience', rather than cryptic responses? Would the 'competition' really worry about it? Would it not make the community happy?

Things are already in progress, however the preliminary work being done isn't visible to most quite yet. Expect to see things moving along nicely over the next couple of months . Including the things you mention, and more.

I remember the same fricking response from Kerensky one year ago, I personally don't care since it's just a game and I'll play it as long as it's fun, and it's still fun.

Obviously GR and K are just doing their job, most of the time reasonably well, however the response wait and see is a bit silly when we've been hearing for about a couple of years now. However I still have some hope left on this, considering NC would not have made this investment if it did not expect to make it's money back.

@Leif_Roar: You might have noticed (or not) that GhostRaptor is co-organising the X4 and has been there over the weekend to help running it. He's been working his *** off in Leipzig and has done a heck of a lot behind the scenes - some of which you will be seeing soon.

And me? Well... you don't see much of me, because I take care of the German community now and I think they're reasonably happy with what I am doing.

Yes, in 2007 things were pretty tough for all of us - first we had no French Community Coordinator for a long time; then the Bridger, the English Community Coordinator moved to become Game Designer and I had to deal with all three languages - which was probably the toughest time for the EU CoH community as a whole.

Yes, I said that "there will be changes" a year ago - and there were changes: Palladium and GhostRaptor joined the team; NCsoft acquired the CoH IP and the Dev-team went to work with NorCal. At that time I believed that changes would be coming within three months time at that point, because I thought that with the IP acquisition things would move on fast.

I did not take into account that there is a transition period that required a lot of reorganisation on all parts of NCsoft. Since then a lot of things have happened and we had to shift our focus slightly for a while.

Anyway - I could go on about this much longer, talking about how the rainy summer and the fact that we are between two issues etc. affect the general atmosphere on the boards... but then I would be sitting here for the rest of the day...

Let me just say this: We know that in the coming weeks and months things will move on and change for the better - no postponing any more.

hence the no-mess direct approach? it all makes sense now ( I do miss your own particular brand of forum justice chap ) and whilst I share the marketing and website update concerns of most others, I can appreciate the situation and the factors you mention. As far as I'm concerned if you guys are on it, we can certainly expect results! So I'm kicking back safe in the knowledge this is being looked at

Well, I think the rednames have provided us with enough of a response. I look forward to (*adds on a couple of months* late November/early December, for the changes.

I'm starting to plan on running one for my character (his current costume, quite frankly, sucks )...
