Offline reward system

Unlockable options for an offline mission creator perhaps?

I really should do something about this signature.

Would they really want to limit access to that sort of creator, though?

Once they'd put the effort into developing it I'd have thought they'd want to get as many people as possible using it, without making them jump through arbitrary hoops first.

...And leave post-it notes for other characters who share the appartment so you can invite your alts to your SG without needing friends. Friends are over-rated.

An Eve-like training system where your toons can be set to learn a specific skill while you're not logged in to the game : such as temp powers (handguns, baseball bats, collecting stones), brawl/sprint improvement (inherent-only enhancement slots to represent keeping yourself in shape?); non-game QoL skills such as Sewing so you don't need the tailor but costume alterations require a set amount of off-line time to make the costume;

Off-line minigames to simulate your toon's alter-ego - going to work, dating, choosing between tracker and fixed rate mortgages - Super sims!

How about at 12 months vet time, on the last monday of every month you get a margherita pizza delivered to your house and some sort of girlie video / gossip mag / spanish pool cleaner to keep the wife out of your hair for a few hours? And then for every other 12 month milestone you can add two toppings or a side order?

I'm willing to bet that nothing in this thread so far has come close.

One thing Positron has shown us is that he's quite willing to be left-field and radical and do the unexpected whenever he feels it's warranted.

I have no clue, but I am very interested to find out

Ah-hah! I bet they're worried we're spending unhealthy amounts of time online, so they'll be providing us with rewards to trick us out into the sun (or rain, hereabouts) to get some exercise: Arachnos sweat-bands, offical Midnighter Club footballs, special Nemesis brand, steam-absorbing jogging shoes, Skyraider tennis rackets, Backstreet Brawler baseball gloves.

thats the problem with hints. Sometimes the speculation inflates expectations so high that the reality ends up being a bit of a let down , even if it is generally well received.

examples: Dr Who season Finale, Lost (there's no way the series can compete with some of the ideas floating about), Heroes showdown with Silar (definitely didnt live up to expectation imho), ending of any superman film, the league of extraordinary gentlemen, mystery men, daredevil movie(snicker), electra movie (guffaw!), Van Helsing movie (Milk just shot out my nose! which is strange seeing as I havent drank any milk in two days).

I know what I'd like it to be. I know what I dont want it to be. But apart from the last two vet rewards announced, the devs have done a good job so far keeping things fun and new. Just wish city Vault would hurry up

If it was simply something like, in order to place mob type X in game you have to have the badge for defeating that mob type on any of your characters, then it wouldn't be a major restriction on experienced players, and for new players the ability to place a mob type before encountering them in game could be considered a spoiler.

y'know, that never even occurred to me before but I definitely see your point. Perhaps badge based controls are the way to go, or at the least, arc completion.

Wait, they're stealing my internet and giving me my evenings back? That sort of offline reward? If its a book club I already belong to one thanks

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,

A General Discussion thread being derailed into self-congratulatory forumite back-patting? No, you shock me!

Clearly this is all a set-up for City of Heroes Merch. I for one look forward to my 'Chocolate Arachnopops' ("makes the milk go all spidery!") and my 'I got my toon to lvl 50 and all I got was this mild case of agrophobia' t-shirt.

We need a subtle approach to try and trick him.

GhostRaptor, what are the offline rewards?

@Golden Girl

City of Heroes comics and artwork

Ah, I see the Golden Girl subscribes to the same 'subtle' approach that my friends do:

"Damn, I'd really like it if you made me a cup of tea, Shad."

It doesn't work on me (mainly because I can't make a cuppa for love nor money). It's not likely to work on someone under the weight of a NDA.

That said...

Rockjaw? Unless GhostRaptor comes up with the goods, I'll eat all the cookies that Pixie and I were going to bring to Memorabilia for you guys to eat and auction off...

We can't get him to tell us under his own steam, and we know we can't pull him to tell us... but if we could somehow push him up to 88 miles per hour...
