That little emoticon had always puzzled me, but i get it now!, when you tilt your head to the right it looks like a little heart! awww...
Up till now I was honestly tilting my head to the left and thinking it looked like a little pair of squirrel's knackers.

That made me laugh out loud... squirrel knackers. Now i wonder why you imagined those instead of a heart. *Ponders what Dr.freud would've said*

Well, you know how it is, Sapphic dear. You're out at night, looking for kicks, someone's passing around the acorns.... - that and I genuinely was looking from the left.
That made me feel like such a nerd for meeting my Girlfriend over IRC

Banished Pantheon as part of a Dark Astoria makeover?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes please!
[/ QUOTE ]
Seconded (or thirded, I'm never sure how that works)
[/ QUOTE ]
You second it, someone else votes for it, and then the motion is carried (where to, no one knows... ask the barbarian).
I'd vote for this.

Wait can I just vote for it or do I have to carry it now?

I've heard abstain is a good option...

Abstaining makes the vessel grow emptier...

Pft. Given empty vessels make the most noise you must be constantly abstaining rabbit :P
Anyway - yes pls! Proper taskforces/arc for the BP as a Dark Astoria make over.
I'd also like to see a "proper" Nemesis TF.

Yep - since we have his Shard base map and the tileset that goes with it, it'd be nice to see it used a LOT more.

And retcon all the Nemesis misisons that use the Crey lab map, and change them to the Nemesis maps.

A nice magical threat a la a group raising something that Should Not Be would be what I'd like next please.

Hmmm maybe something like Days of Dark Skies where CoT finally find a way to bring demons to the world and started to establish their kingdom to its old glorious days... with the help (willingly or forced) of the Cabal and some other Croatoa factions?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think Carni was meaning something much older and more menacing, something with tentacles and more eyes and dimensions than are right, something indescibable and very Lovecraftian in nature. Mind you, the strain on my graphics card my be a bit much for old Cthulhu and friends.

VIGILANCE Captain Caledonia 20 - Yeah, I made toons on the French server coz we only had 4 back then (might have to transfer/recreate them on one of the US servers)

For a future issue do you think it would be a good idea to really turn it on it's heel?
How about either:
1) The Rikti win the war, and in a future issue we the heroes and villains are fighting as an insurgency force trying to reclaim the planet.
2) We win the war and we are now on the Rikti homeworld, all new zones on that world, trying to destroy them completely.
3) Humanity turns on the super beings, heroes and villains are forced to ally in order to survive.
I know it would take a lot of effort and a BIG issue, but I think it would really be fun, and turn the game on it's head.
[/ QUOTE ]
None of the above! I'm sick of Rikti by now.

Banished Pantheon as part of a Dark Astoria makeover?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I have been going on about it sporadically for about 15 months now.
The Banished gods would be the most likely ingame candidates for something like this (but Flitz's guess is bang on), a bit of an homage to Lovecraftian mythos.
Think how much fun the story writers could have fitting words like gibbous, eldritch and noisome into the mission descriptions!

Actually, I think Striga, or possibly Blood Bay, would make a better backdrop for a Lovecraftian story arch. Lovecraft isn't about zombies shuffling around in a mist-shrouded graveyard, but about dark secrets and a twisted, perverse and inhuman realities underlying what we think of as the real world.

Well it was the Banished themselves (ie the gods) I was thinking about as candidates more than their shuffling corpse minions but yep Bloody Bay would be a good place for it. Or maybe an island off Nerva.
Of course the hero body count would have to be higher than the enemies or it just wouldn't be proper Cthulhu (a la the RPG)

If it's the RPG we're talking about you should end up mad rather than dead, but same basic concept.
I always thought it was a shame that the Banished Pantheon just sort of fizzled out. It was like someone had a cool idea, but it never got realised.

Let's keep WoW out of this
As for the Lovecraft angle, you could create a new set of living minions for the Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria - have the zombies lurking in the swamp area, but have actual human cultists in the urban area.

Well their shaman are living, but as far as Lovecraftian influence goes you can see it more in the Coralax background than the BP - I'd love to see a human faction of Coralax worshippers/supporters introduced, perhaps an issue before we get a Coralax underwater city zone and a TF against their alien goddess that slumbers beneath the waves, Merulina.
But I'd like to see some of the BP gods dragged back to this dimension too - I've beaten up the Mu goddess Hequat in CoV and defeated enough gods in other MMOs to have a taste for it
Other Pantheons getting in on the Incarnate action. No-one should let the damn Olympians be the only ones with shards of themselves walking around Midgard. Uh....Earth.

Other Pantheons other than the Banished? Like the Dimensional-door-shut-on-us-and-we-forgot-our-keys Pantheon? Or the We-were-on-the-way-to-your-dimesion-but-took-a-wrong-turn-and-got-lost Pantheon.
I approve! Mission could involve finding a transdimensional road map for them, or a mission to check under the dimensional doormat for a spare key for the Locked-Out Pantheon.
The Banished do have the scarest bosses in the game IMO, those totems scare the bejaysis out of me. Only Devoured come close imo.

Sure. I'm particularly fond of the We-don't-like-to-talk-about-them Pantheon and the They're-around-here-somewhere Pantheon.
Getting the BP deities back would be pretty easy:
1) let Azuria look after the Scroll of Tielekku,
2) Azuria mislays the scroll, like she does with every powerful artefact,
3) BP get their hands on the scroll and destroy Tielekku (which presumably allows the BP to return),
4) ...
5) profi... errr I mean evil elder gods start crawling all over Paragon City, blood rains from the skies, etc.
More fun than a Rikti apocalypse any day

Yeah we definitely need some Norse incarnates - the Devs should be able to do that now - I mean, it's not like they have Jack Emmert forcing them to only use Greek mythology anymore (purely so he could get some use out of his classical education ).
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah we definitely need some Norse incarnates
[/ QUOTE ] Loads of potential for both more signature Heroes/ArchVillians to be introduced, and more TFs and enemy groups using Norse Mythology ..... especially as Marvel now won't be having their MMO, NorCal should capitalise on that and introduce Norse content to coincide with the 2010/11 Marvel film "Thor".
As a side note, let me just state, for the record, that if there's anything that could have me cancel my CoH subscription in protest a blond or clever Thor would be pretty high up on the list.
Urrgh, not Marvel's Thor or any variation from any of their universes - but a different one, a unique CoH reimagining - theres way more to Norse Mythology than just Thor.... but then I don't have to tell you that Leif.
