Union server hamideon raid
How do you reckon more ppl are playing at 17th? If you're going by the logic that dxp is coming, well as said before, during dxp people more rather do something that gives xp rather than spend a few hours in the hive/abyss with a risk of just wasting time. I know for sure i wont be doing a hami during dxp.
As for the plan, I suggest using both the search function here and at the US boards. Read bout succesful raids, read bout failed raids, make your own plan. If you dont know enough bout the game mechanics to make an own plan like that, i'd highly recommend letting somebody else organize it. I've organized a few oldstyle hami raids before (also before the clockwork hami routine), and I tell you hami aint something to think light of.
I'd say from the reactions here, postpone it to say, somewhere in august with a fully detailed plan posted. Long time ahead? Maybe. But it also gives people time to figure out if they got time, prepare themselves and gives you as organizer the chance to see whatever people can bring, make adjustments and draw up the final plan for that specific group of AT/sets. Can't expect to fully map a succeeded plan 1 on 1 without requiring specific sets in specific numbers, which is hard here on the EU servers.
Don't wanna hose down the attempt on a raid, but just trying to give you a headsup it aint like doing a PuG TF.
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
I hate to say it and deflate things also.. but i have to agree with Nefarious here, double XP is for super lvl'in not debt fests..
U cant just wing this.. it's need to be fully planned and over a longer timeframe to make sure u get enough people as u will need to find 50+ people and make sure u have diverse AT's around.. As a recent attempt on Union shows u cant just run at this like a bull at a gate, no offence to the people who tried but there seemed to be no organisation apart from "come to abyss" Therefore it failed spectacularly which i new it would.. As there was no forum advertisement either.. Tbf tho they did give it their all
As i saw for the hero attempt on union i wud get people interested to say what AT types they could bring and formulate your proposed team from the replies.. for a future date in say a months time..
Ok everyone... This seems to be going ahead

VIOLENCE FOR THE PEOPLE!
PREPARE TO BE HORRIBLY MUTILATED!
WAKE TO THE RAIN OF BLOOD!
Ok after last night's casual grind by members of UD and GSC and fact finding task after grinding some EOEs, I have many musings to post below. Time for more of my trademark mad strategies...
1)
The range at which you are safe from aggro is approx 130 yards from the nearest blob, once one is aggroed however, any adjacent will automaitcally attack with a range of approx 200 yards. No EOEs = dead as disco.
2)
The yellow blobs also have a quirk, during the DoT part of the damage they deal they have a chance to negate all of your powers - yes everything. The chance is low from what I've seen in practice only being hit by it twice in all my suicides, but still its a factor to consider as they could just negate all auto powers and shields in a single blast! Therefore I think these may need to go down REAL fast due to the extraordinary threat posed.
3)
But heres an interesting strategem I have mused over and already discussed with freeda and fatal last night before I crashed. The proposed idea of support healer/rez/tpers have a great addition. When you die in the Abyss and opt to goto the base rather than grandy hosp you can restock on EOEs. But heres the clincher - when you exit the base via the proper entrance, you auto tp back to where you died in the Abyss. So the rezzers tp everyone out, rez those they can, then tank peeps can head to base fast to restock on EOEs to take it on the chin over and over like pros - particularly after each bloom. Obviously theres the danger of not getting back to the zone or crashing, but thats a possible risk that may be worth taking.
Also the heal peeps should invest in aid other, stimulant and resuscitate. A proper healer like /thermal, /rad or even /storm can then tp friends out (tp team preferred here for blooms) then rez at least 2 (except for the stormy) and then can all use aid other, their respective heals to get anyone else back up HP wise, and then use stim to stack with aid other to negate the stun and fear effects of the blobs.
In my case, Starslugslinger being a /rad will be using aid other, stimulant and AM to give mez protection in this case. Plus he'll have tp friend (maybe tp team) plus mutation and resuscitate to rez at least 2 at a time and hasten + AM to sort the rech of both. Plus a highly slotted AM for end mod, and a friendly neighbourhood /kin with all the SB to help combat the blue blob end drain would be the [censored].
This to me seems like a very wise investment and he's only a /rad. A /thermal with forge and thaw would be even more handy. It's also a worthwhile idea for the tp-heal-rez peeps to hopefully try and squeeze in vengeance if possible. Thus EVEN MORE mez protect, more dmg, more tohit and a good amount of def which some guides indicate does help - whether that is true remains to be seen , i doubt it tho - but it's worth it for the prior reasons I mentioned. Naturally leaving only 1 teammate dead to veng up those that need most, but with thought and care we could have all the heal peeps in a SINGLE safe spot, tp everyone there and get veng on all nearby meaning only a few need it as it doesn't stack anyway.
As I think we'll be low on support imo, it seems SSS's days as the human bomb are gone solely for this carnage - I'm respeccing him into the afformentioned support behemoth. I would also call on anyone with a great support char to join me in getting our bad boys, girls and non-descripts up to muller the hami over and over.
The above rant is the first of my musings and I will have much much much more to add to this as we go on more EOE runs.
My rants will also be found here:
http://udsg.proboards59.com/index.cg...amp;thread=353
....and on the day the Hamidon must PREPARE TO BE HORRIBLY MUTILATED!
Star.....
(oh btw - SSS will be respecced BACK into a human bomb after this raid - muhahahah)
I'm continuing to muse over the guides that can be found to find a proven strategy to work round.. So strategy is "Still" being formulated...
One main thing we need to think about is tryin to limit the amount of zone leavers.. as wen we hit the max limit if one of the peeps that has been fighting Hami and a valid member of a team leaves the zone, there is the chance sumone could pop in and "have a look" thus causing that team member to not be re-admitted.
Here is the plan of tactics i suggest we take.. this is from a successfull post I9 villain hami raid on US servers..
Hamidon Raid Strategy: Villain-side Adaptations
Teams and Team Instructions
Mastermind Pet Stream
6 Masterminds and 2 Kinetics (no EOE's required)
The team should set up behind a rock pillar near the north outcrop area, and as close to Hamidon as possible. Nobody on the team should be exposed to direct line of sight to Hamidon or the mitos, as they will have agro transferred to them and be within range of the Hami/mito blasts, drawing them to the team (also don't recall any pets back to the rock for the same reason).
When the signal is given for the pet stream to start, Masterminds will summon their pets, starting with minions, and send them in to attack Hamidon. They should try to keep up a constant stream of pets heading into the goo. To do this, they should alternate and stagger their summons among them, taking turns but keeping the stream constant. After a minute or so, the stream should be spread enough that there are always pets heading into the goo. With the help of the kinetics Speed Boosting, minions should recharge in roughly 20 secs, lieutenants in 40 secs, and bosses in 60 secs. No upgrade buffs need be applied; the purpose is to distract Hami and whatever else they can before they die.
Brute Agro Squad
2 teams of: 3-5 brutes and 3 support heal/rez/buffers (brutes will need EOE's: 2+ each x 4 blooms, 48 minimum raid total)
Each team will be in charge of controlling the agro from 3 yellow mitos. The teams should set up on opposite sides of Hamidon (the east main staging area, and opposite on the west side of hami). Communication between the brute team leaders, and among their own brutes, is essential! Each brute must know precisely which mito they are responsible for. Recommend that the team leaders decide which 2 mitos are their 'center' ones, and assign brutes to center, right and left from that. If setting up at the east and west rock outcroppings it is quite easy to locate these two 'center' mitos, as they are the ones directly in front of the area. Each mito should also assigned a buffer to look after the health and status resist buffs of the brutes attacking it. Extra brutes should be assigned around to the mitos to help kill them. Two brutes on a yellow should have no problem SMASHing it down. Note: Brutes with any form of flight are highly preferred.
On their start signal, the brutes will eat an EOE and rush to their assigned yellow mitos and engage them. The supporters will follow the brutes at a distance, keeping them healed and spammed with stacked mez resist. The support AT's need to remain outside of the aoe splash effect of the mito attack, but within range of their powers. Brutes can assist with this by keeping to the outside edge of the goo and remaining as stationary as possible while attacking. When a yellow mito is killed, move to the next nearest one and help to kill it as well.
Assault Teams
Everyone else at the raid in balanced teams of damage and support (no EOE's required)
Special attention should be given to having enough Dominators, as the first targets are the green mitos which must be held to kill (mag 100!). Flight and Group Flight for the teams is a bonus. Dark Miasma AT's are also desired for Fear resists. Stalkers should avoid trying to AS and use their biggest normal attacks with crits instead. Masterminds in the assault teams should refrain from summoning pets at this time, as they can interfere with the pet streams trying to hold Hami agro.
The assault teams all follow a single raid targeter, who will engage the green mitos first. Green mitos have a force field which must first be dropped by applying holds to it. Dominators should use Domination as soon as it's available! Everyone else with a hold should be using it. Once held and the green's field is dropped, damage will quickly kill it, and the targeter will move on to the next green. When all greens are down, clear the blues. Spam healing aoe's, and keep any aoe buffs on (Shadow Fall, bubbles, etc).
Strategy
It is highly recommended that the raid leader conduct the raid from a 'spotter' location above Hamidon. Looking down like this on the action really helps to get an idea how the raid is progressing and when to issue instructions.
The raid leader will announce the start of the mito phase by telling the MM Pet team to begin sending their pets at Hamidon (staggered as described above). The raid leader will watch as this takes shape, and once stable (ie there is a constant presence of pets inside the goo) will announce the start of the buffing cycle and attack phases in Request channel:
Quote:
MASTERMIND PETS ARE STABLE!
MITO ATTACK BEGINNING IN 1 MINUTEĀ
BEGIN BUFFING YOUR TEAMS (STACK MEZ RESISTS, ETC)!
.
30 SECONDS...BRUTE SQUADS GET READY!
.
20 SECONDS...BRUTE SQUADS ENGAGE YELLOW MITOS NOW!!!
.
10 SECONDS...ASSAULT TEAMS READY!
.
0...ASSAULT TEAMS FOLLOW THE TARGET IN...GO!!!
It is very important to make sure at each phase that the proper dynamic is working. MM pet stream must be stable before sending in brutes. Brutes must be stable and holding the yellow mitos' attention while remaining alive before sending in the assault teams. If the pets are all dead, or if the brutes have lost a single yellow mito agro, don't proceed with the next phase. Abort and reset...it'll save you time in the long run.
With the MM pets keeping Hamidon agro and loose mitos on them, brutes keeping the attention of the yellow mitos and SMASHing them down, and the assault teams killing off the healing greens, the mitos should be overwhelmed in just a few minutes. Once the mitos are all down, everyone will turn their attention to Hamidon.
At this point, the raiders should move to Hami to kill it. Keep to the opposite side of the group of MM pets to avoid splash damage. A taunt squad of brutes can also move to the side to help draw off Hami blasts away from the rest of the attackers.
When Hami nears the mito bloom percentages (75%, 50%, 25% once each), a recaller from each team (preferably with rez) should return to the east staging area and be ready to pull their team out to rez and regroup. Get everyone back up and into position for the next mito run.
Issues Remaining
The key to successfully pulling this off is a well-run set of Brute teams. They must know their jobs, and their support must keep them going, to allow the rest of the raid to succeed. Brutes are taking the brunt of the assault, and the success of the raid is anchored on them. Unlike the hero-side though, there are not two types of teams that need strict coordination (tankers and scrappers). The Mastermind pet stream is relatively cheap and easy to maintain compared to the tank team. But lack of empathy buffs available on villains means brutes are in a more tenuous position. Better and faster recovery between blooms is another area that needs attention. Even hero-side, regrouping and recovery is a big time-sink to the raid.
I wud also like to add that possibly moveing approx 6 brutes to aggro the blues once the yellows are down may be a good idea.. and of course stalker may not be a good addition but that only an idea
ok a few good points on strategies there, lets leave thread open to allow peeps to post interest and list toons so we can get an idea of numbers then wen we have we can work on strategy.
Agent xxx
I have a question about other than MM pets. My Dark Servant can hold and heal, but attacs randomly and can cause aggro where its not wanted. Since most lvl 50's have some kind of pet, what should we do with them? Not summon them at all, summon only certain ones (i.e. holders), or summon all?
My main toons on Union:
Majer; Dark/Dark Corruptor
Caitlin Calathea; Plant/Thorns Dominator
Davallia Fejeensis; Empathy/Archery Defender
My arc:
ID 98789, What once was, will be again.
Do you absolutely NEED Fly for this as a melee toon? (Yes, I realise the mitos are floating, just wondering if relying on someone else's Group Fly is a viable alternative.)
Or, would the 60 minute Raptor Pack from Sharkhead Isle work as a replacement?
i suggest that "non-controlable" pets are not used for this event as this could cause a tremendous issue with loopy pet running throught teams dragging AOE aggro with it.. Standard MM pets will need to be used.. Controllable easy to dismiss and utterly expendable.
The pets will just need to be sent into the core of the hami do get as much aggro throw as then as possible once th MM's have set up the stream.. which will mean keeping there pets in the hami.. re-summoning and sending back in as soon as possbile.. they well not need to be equiped just summoned and sent in to die.. the pet stream indicate a constant pet presence in the hami which the MM's will have to keep up for the duriation of the raid.. apart from at each bloom where the teams will need to re-group - buff up - start pet stream again and go in again
On the note of Brutes with fly.. temp flight powers will be more than adequate to help reach higher Mito

Would I be of any use at all?
Col. dont forget that not all the brutes need taunt because of 2 teams of brutes with approx 10 brutes btween and only about 7 yellow mito's i think.. there will be overlap and we also need brutes to kick the [censored] out of them.. which can also grab their attention
Count me in then.
now there's plannin comin on, i'll try to make it Can't write something down in stone cause the coming 2 months still, my plans got a tendency to change on the go. But for what its worth:
Global: @Stagefright

Toons:

- Seismic Smasher: 50 stone/stone brute (taunt, tp friend)
- Out Cold: 50 ice/cold corr (fully IOd, stimulant, frostwork)
And i might have my night widow to 50 by then, but dont count on it
