Make Super Speed more "super"
And take away the stealth from it? Cause its one hell of a benifit in PvE to use that and a single IO and gain invisibility
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled

They're now putting it all together.

Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
I'd rather they add a Movement Slow Res to Hasten. Obviously not a huge amount, but say something akin to Quickness and definitely movement only, mind.
Would this apply to PvP? If yes it gets a big fat "no" from me, sorry.

^A good idea
@Lukas
like they idea for PVE, but it should stay out of PVP for balance reasons.
tough, the only thing i like to see changed is having a better effect then some bloomy stars stuck at my feet, maybe something like an after image effect.
Despite being a super speeder myself I think this is a bad idea. It is already one of the most powerful and popular travel powers in my opinion, what with the PvE stealth and all, making it avoid slow powers would make it even more desirable.
It also makes perfect sense to me that if you rely on your feet for movement that if you stand in something really sticky no amount of speed is going to help you get out of it, extra strength might, but being fast and strong aren't necessarily related. Likewise if something covers the floor with caltrops you're going to take as much care as everyone else getting out of them.
Also.. have you ever fought a super speeder..? Like Synapse.
If I wasnt able to slow or hold him... defeating him in nearly impossible.

Speaking of Synapse, what Super Speed really needs is to have the same graphical effect that he has when he runs

And hell no for Super Speed to be resitant to slow effects, stalkers are overpowered enough since theres no way to detect them no matter how many perception powers or yellows you pop if they have hide, stealth and stealth IO, if they have resistance to slows they'd AS and there would be no way of stopping them from Super Speeding away
You could set different values for PvE and PvP in terms of slow res.
I have to say that I have always felt that Super Speed lacks in, well, speed. Understandably there's an upper limit to how fast a character can move in the engine, but at higher graphics settings couldn't we have some groovy warped world effects so that it at least appears that we are going faster?
*Note the phrase "at higher graphics settings", that way if somebody's machine couldn't handle the rendering they can reduce the graphics options to switch it off. Maybe there could even be a discrete button to switch the effect on and off.

[/ QUOTE ]Nope. The slow resistance would be a self-targetting attribute, and thus would always use the same value.
tho could one version could have slow resist and the other no slow resist in the same way that SS in PvE has stealth and in PvP it dose not?

[/ QUOTE ]It has stealth against non-player targets. But, as stated, slow resistance can't be target based.
I think you're missing the point slightly. My point is that EVERYONE is capped to the SAME value when they're hit by slows, regardless of the fact that Player A normally runs faster than Player B.
As an example, my character has pretty impressive running speed, but its all completely wasted the instant she hits Caltrops or is hit by blizzard. Sort of defeats the purpose to all the movement enhancements if they can't EVER be put to any real use.
You make it sound like I suggested an immunity to slows, which isn't what I said at all. Currently slow movement abilities reduce your MAXIMUM speed limit and I just think that that limit should be more attuned to the player's statistics rather than a static value for everyone.

well, for what i understand, if you're hit by someone with Caltrops, you're considered being in combat, which will slow you down anyway.
I think what Thunderspark is getting at is to still slow you down when in combat/slow effects, but have you still move a bit faster than people without ss activated.
What if SS gave you the same speed increase as swift when your slowed/in combat?

[/ QUOTE ]Being hit doesn't suppress travel powers, attacking does.
i agree though i think we should've got a super speed animation like synapse his anitmation owns
While im sure there are countless reasons for not increasing the speed cap on running, there are fewer reasons for not allowing super speed to have a greater impact in the game.
When players are hit by slow movement abilities (such as Caltrops or Snow Storms) the effect is applied to reduce their MAXIMUM speed rather than a percentage reduction on their actual speed. In other words, if you're hit by a slow ability of any kind you're reduced to the same max speed as anyone else hit by that same power.
With all the countless speed bonuses on IO sets and even IO's themselves (Gift of the Ancients: Run Speed, for example) they seem rather redundant if you can't make proper use out of them. It just seems odd that a super-hero thats faster than others doesn't get that speed benefit against slow-movement skills.
My suggestion, then, is to perhaps give speed a sort of "resist" effect against slow movement abilities. Reduce the cap, by all means do, but scale it better towards how much faster the player is over normal running speed. Allow us to put that additional speed to some use when caught in a blizzard or stung by caltrops.
One thing I would suggest, however is to use the uncapped speed for the calculations since everyone who puts in even a weak SO into Super Speed will be running at the maximum speed cap anyway.
