it has, some one owns the rights to do it, but almsot no one would care if they did.

And why would no one care if they did? I mean, if it was well made then it would get the name of the game out into the mainstream. At the end of the day the only reason WoW is so popular is because the mainstream media latched onto it as a MMORPG that they could easily explain to the public, and since then have stuck with WoW because it saves having to do extra research. As WoW is the MMORPG that everybody hears about then it is the game that people buy when wanting to try out a MMORPG, and this in turn leads to even more media coverage, which in turn leads to an increased player base. Tap into that cycle with a well made movie and CoX goes from strength to strength.
  2. Cool.

(I WISH that the forum search function was made one hell of a lot better. Type in the word movie and you get 200 entries that have nothing to do with a movie, it's just that the post contains the word movie, worse it seems to then list every flaming entry made on that post)
  3. I'm kind of surprised that this hasn't been mentioned before (and if it has, 'umble apologies), but how about plans for a City of Heroes movie?

Even if it was only moderately successful it would boost the size of the player base. Personally I'ld like to see something in the Transformers kind of movie (lot's of action, very little need to engage brain).

Given the crop of other hero movies occuring at the moment (Hulk 2, Iron Man, Batman, Thor in 2010, etc.), I can't help feeling that CoX would be missing a trick if they didn't commission a movie as well.

(Plus, think how chuffed the developers would be to see their characters on the bigscreen).

Failing a movie there's always the option to go for a mini-series, as Sky has done with their two recent Pratchett conversions.
  4. I have to say that I have always felt that Super Speed lacks in, well, speed. Understandably there's an upper limit to how fast a character can move in the engine, but at higher graphics settings couldn't we have some groovy warped world effects so that it at least appears that we are going faster?

*Note the phrase "at higher graphics settings", that way if somebody's machine couldn't handle the rendering they can reduce the graphics options to switch it off. Maybe there could even be a discrete button to switch the effect on and off.
  5. I mentioned this suggestion myself some months ago and yep, got the same responses:

'oh you can't have an Exit to Character Selection Screen because if you do then somebody can delete your toons.'

Sorry, didn't buy that argument then, don't buy it now. If there are three options on exit (to Desktop, to Login and to Character Selection Screen) then you can choose the option that suits you. If you want to exit the game then Exit to Desktop. If you need to leave your computer and there might be a chance that somebody will mess about with the account then Exit to Login. If, however, you want to select another character then why not have an Exit to Character Selection Screen? Let's face it, this game requires a monthly subscription, in other words your game account is an online financial system. Would you be stupid enough to leave your online bank account logged in while you left the computer and where other people have access to your computer. NO. Would you type in your password to your online bank account in such a way that would allow the people around you to see it if you thought you couldn't trust them with that information. NO. So why do you think that the moment the option to Exit to Character Selection Screen becomes available people are immediately going to start leaving the game at the Character Selection Screen and wander off so that others can start editing the details of their account? And if somebody is stupid enough to do that, well Boohoo, that person has just learnt a very valuable lesson about very basic computer security.
