Post your base pics here

Grats on your base!
Looks huge and I mean the size too which must be hard to get on Villains side.
I like the Control/Conference room with the heads-up displays over the table.
And the dark light teleport room.

Small note:
I found the individual links to the pictures broken, maybe you moved them to a subdirectory after posting the links?
Here's a link to SheRock's Album on Photo Bucket

I like the images, SheRock. We have the same concept for our Generator room!

I love the University / Library. I was amazed how well you got the posters to sit in the wall texture!

I agree, this looks excellent, but the one for me is the medbay - the wood look is brilliant.

Having spent some time looking at the pictures of everyone’s bases I decided to do a bit more work on ours and try to make it look more interesting. (The layout is still as I’ve previously posted.)

Entrance overview and entrance at eyelevel.

Medbay.

Meeting room overview, meeting table, and reading room.

Many thanks to all those who I’ve nicked ideas from, and here’s hoping i13 has some base loving. (And if not I’ll have to try again with the magic desk. )

You fell into the trap.

There are certainly things I've seen I'd like to incorporate (and possibly will eventually) but I know if I start I'll end up spending hours and days I hadn't intended to on a complete redesign, and then screaming at some inanimate pixellated item that won't sit in the correct spot!

Just by going what people have posted so far there has been some really really good small bases proving size isn't everything.
Theres been some amazingly decorated small bases then theres been some boring as hell large bases.
I know what i'd pick given the choice and its not the large one

I was really looking forward to the getting the extra prestige, and although it did allow us to have a second, bigger, workshop and therefore more storage, all it really gave us was a large meeting room that I’ve then failed to decorate well.

I think if we’d had a villain base where we needed less teleporters we never have had a base this big.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, as you can see from both my bases earlier in the thread (both on smallest plot) this makes a huge difference. I've done my best to make it atmospheric, but my hero base still feels like a teleport waystation more than a base, while the villain one feels like a base that just happens to have teleporters in it.

I really wish the Devs would add teleporters that take more than 2 beacons. Maybe one the same size as the existing teleporters that takes 4 beacons but costs more prestige/power/energy/salvage - but my main wish would be a single unit of raid teleporter size that could take unlimited beacons and still fit in the 3x4 teleport room.

The current decorative item available seem to work a lot better in smaller roome.

It'll be interesting to see what people come up with if there is a base revamp next issue.

A lot of the home furniture type items do, yeah - but a lot of the big arcane pieces need big rooms just to be able to fit them in.

The main problem with my hero base is that with so many teleport rooms, and with the teleporters taking up all the non-corridor space in them, there's not much room for purely decorative areas on the base plot without compromising functionality. The villain base has less-but-larger rooms due to needing less teleports, so has more room for purely decorative stuff (and still has tons more functionality than our hero base).

Cryonic is right, I’ve been dragged in and now done some more work.

And by way of proof about things working better in smaller rooms, we sectioned off bits of the large room and it all works a lot better now. We now have a bar and podium (although we’re not sure why we have a podium, it just seemed right to put it there ).

More pictures attached.

Hey guys, take a look at this image http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...lingalley2.jpg

Im aiming at the blue things at the back, lateral files. They've been stacked on each other and on the silver boxes, does anyone know how its done? Ive tried using the stacking method, but cant do it.

Any in-game help is appreciated.

Thanks guys

ace thread, really cool to see such good base work! makes me want to revisit our base once more

the things i like playing wiht most i think are colours and high contrast areas, i love the way you can use these to highlight areas of interest and such like.

Re the teleporter comment, i too had this issue it felt like a waste, but after i redesigned it (telepads still take half of the base ) it worked a bit better, i did this by creating a U shape, so you only saw 4 pads at once.

might have to take some screenies now

Lateral files are exactly three Floor Safes high, either stack the safes then use the big white floor piece (under same tab as the safe) then stack the lateral files on the floor, or directly onto the safes.
