City of Farm
I find it easy to find a team if I really want to, the problem is I'm a lazy sod. Just run a search on people in the right level range and send them a polite tell saying "If you're on a team, could I join please?" with some insipid smiley on the end.
I never fail to get a team, I just have to go looking for one instead of logging on and expecting someone to offer me an invite.

Been doing that, but so many people are to lazzy to reply it seems, but me and mate found a fix..
I went fire/kin, he has gone sonic/sonic, we figgre this way we simply duo and anyone who joins us is just bonus, but SG mate explained to me it should all change once i12 arives since atm, everyone with a 50 is just farming inf, ready for there new chars..
I realy hope he is right, since this is actualy first mporg where I realy do love groups..
I'd take a Grav/Kin any day...

I dont find it a problem until level 40+ when everyone and there cousin is just farming / PLing.
I do find the fact that 90%+ of every 8 man team nowadays has a fire/kin in at, at any level.
Im really keeping my fingers crossed for a farming fix soon, or as a less preferred option, a rebalancing of fire/kins. Unfortunately, I suspsct it will be the latter rather than the former, almost inevitably once datamining occurs. But this will be better than nothing.

I'm running the remaining 10%.
See what you guys meen, my fire/kin got to 9 and I already hate her, sure the flamy rings are rather pretty (sad realy same as my grav ae imob, but due to incredibly more visual, teams think i'm doing more) but the set just dosn't umm grab me, I just keep thinking i'm going to miss that fun singularity..
So guess i'm sticking to my Grav/kin, i'll just have try find a regular team
Surely making all the 'Get data from x dimenion' missions timed would kill off a lot of farming?

If you want a non-farming team, create a damn team, its not difficult anyone can do it. In fact lots of people do, I do and I hate leading teams. There are plenty of people who like playing the game because they like playing the game not because they want to make X XP/Prestige/Inf and hour.
I getting a little sick of the mind set that seems to think that everything should be provided for you and if it isn't then people who aren't doing what you want should be nerfed. I have spent quite a bit of time in Peregrin recently as I have two mid forty characters who need to get to fifty just like everyone else. Even if everyone else in the zone is farming they aren't actually doing me any harm, why the hell should I expect them to have their enjoyment ruined because I'm not teaming with them.
That seems to be the new mantra, if I don't like something I want to force everyone else out of the game.

Nothing in your post has any relevance to what I asked? I didn't ask for farmers to be nerfed, I simply wanted to know if as a new player in a old game, was there any point in rolling my preffered cha types (group suport) or should I roll a solo based cha..
Reason I asked was simple, having played these type games for over 10 years, they all seem to reach a point where solo play becomes more of a norm for new players..
Normaly this is easy to spot as its heralded by a string of forum posts of "What class spec soloes best"
I also asked due to lately I notice the abundance of low lev teams that even if you make them tend to degenareate into, 8 people standing around with own thumbs up [censored], or constant where next and actualy doing very little in way of missions..
I totaly understand that farmers have hit 50 and now just wana plow there fields for inf, espesialy now I have been informed that many are building inf for a future i12 cha..
But go ahead and rant if it makes you feel better, personaly, think I shall take a break till i12, that way I may get a better view of the game once more people are leveling again

There seems to be a veiw that "As farming doesnt effect me, then let em get on with it".
It does effect you. The only question is the degree to which it does.
1. Inflation of prices.
2. Diffculty getting non farming teams at high levels (due to lesser availability of people).
3. Unsolicited invites to farm or fill.
You may find the degree to which these effects you vary - you may even find them positive (although I cant see how), but farming effects everyone.

1. Inflation of prices.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im not sure im with you on that one, prices for things are lower due to farming IMO. Take the fast Katie Hannon TF for instance, when it was being farmed the prices for rare recipies where lower than they are now. If farming was irradicated prices for purple recipes and rare arcane salvage would go up because the supply would go down.
If you take a thing like Luck of the Gambler +recharge it used to sell for between 7-15 million inf before the Katie Hannon TF nerf...now theyre going for 50-100 million. Coincidence?

This is not true.Have a look at market report from January till March and you will release if farming inflates prices or not.Farming is the factor that keeps prices down due to increased supply of goods.
Its the equivelant of having 10 factories producing product x.Suddenly government shuts down 5 of them and product x supply is cut by half while demand is same and keeps increasing.Guess where the prices go.

I dont know where the market reports are, so I dont have hard figures.
Whilst Farming increases supply of Purples recipes, it also supplies farmers with vast amounts of influence (from both Purples and raw inf from farming).
So whilst supply increases, the system is awash with far more influence. If both of these were in equilibrium, then there would be no net effect, but the inf supply is concentrated primarily on influence.
You cannot look at "supply" only. Your analogy doesnt including the money printing press.

Well.Farming increases supply in: Purple recipes,Magic Salvage,Uniques (the good ones). In fact its the regulating market factor for those. Most obvious example is Katie TF.Nerfed Katie led to an inflation of Unique prices. And total lack of a Katie equivelant BM side has led to skyrocketing prices too.

Hmmm i dunno really i think Hero market is pretty balanced at the moment.Prices scale good based on price and usage and use of recipes.Dont know just my opinion tho.
Prices will always go up when there's an increase of ingame currency. Please, try and refute this, it will be funny to read.

Whats funny to read is people thinking that removal of farming from the game will fix the game.thats hilarious.
As for currency pushing prices up.
I posted these 2 charts in another thread.
Hero Rare Salvage Fluctuation Jan-March
Villains Rare Salvage Fluctuation
Its funny how both sides have huge amounts of currency in the market due to both sides having good inf farming missions but Villains side market is pushed constantly up due to lack of good arcane salvage farming mission.
Supply is the regulator of the market and not the amount of influence circulating, and its pretty obvious considering hero side with an abundance of inf keeps prices lower.
I hope you had fun reading this.
Heh, your lack of knowledge on the concept of inflation amuses me no end

Obviously that was the best you could do supporting your rubbish about inflation
Do some research about virtual economies and CoH and come back with some proof to back up what you say and then we can talk.
"Inflation is a rise in the general level of prices over time. It may also refer to a rise in the prices of a specific set of goods or services. In either case, it is measured as the percentage rate of change of a price index"
Inf goes up -> recipes/salvage go up slower -> prices go up
Seems self-explanatory

I see your familar with Google Jay, that means your not entirely stupid.
Its a pity you can't reason with people that know better than yourself.
Can I just spell it out for you, FARMERS DO NOT BUY ANYTHING (they get what they want themselves) therefore dont coontribute to anything else other than lowering prices for pool A recipes and salvage due to the excess thay have.
I farm, I buy nothing, I actually sell very little. What difference do I as a farmer make to a market. NONE except for selling my [censored] cheap..
What does make a differtence is the people plvling commercially, that effects everyone else not pure farmers farming for what they want.
If you want a good pool c recipe go get it yourself instead of whineing about farming.
Now go whine at a mmorph that better suits your argument
I love you little guys, always so angry.
Ah, so farmers never have other people on their teams? Sorry, my mistake... Wait, they do? Oh, but I'll bet they never buy anything, so it's ok.
Great, you personally make little difference. So what? I'm not talking about you, or your friends, but farmers as a whole.
I do get my own pool C recipes, thanks very much
Whine? Me? Nah, that's more your area.

OK day by day seems be less groups, aparently everyone just farmes now, so wondering, should I also just say sod it and roll a Fire/kin?
Seems to be a better idea lately to make a cha where grouping to level is a bonus not a requirment?
I love controllers but realy am wondering if my grav/kin should just go fire/kin, sure solo to 32 may take awhile but once get imps teams would just be a bonus I guess..
