Short Circuit pliz.
It's a bit silly that an /ice or /energy dom would be better at draining endurance than an /elec, due to Power Boost and Power Sink (Mu Mastery). A little bit of end drain is no mitigation at all, and it completely useless, it's very much an all or nothing tactic, and this set to me seems to be very much in the 'nothing' category.
A shame because I sorta wanted a Plant/Elec dom for mez madness... alas.

My money was on Short Circuit being in the eventual Elec primary anyway, seems more likely..but hey, at least we didn't get Chain Induction like Stalkers...eheh.

Aside from the tier 9 and the fact there's a snipe (why??), this set looks pretty good to me. You have those 3 great melee powers, one of the better damage cones in the game and Build Up, which is a most welcome buff power for Doms.
It should make a decent secondary for any melee-minded Dom.
Now I can build my Grav/Elec/Mu Dom :P

after all the moaning about this set i have read on the US boards (specifically about voltaic sentinal WHICH I LOVE) this is the only thing i actually agree with... if you cant drain ALL the end eventually then end drain is kinda null... tho if they still do that writhing in agony thing its better than a kick in the teeth

i like snipe in my dom (mainly solo) when everyone is held/mezzed/or anyother state of incompacitation(ed :S) its a very good damage dealer... and seems i am solo i dont mind about slowing down
in teams its good to pull with then hold them away from mob
a none melee minded dom :P thats one dom i would never play...ranged attacks (apart from afore mentioned) are weak for doms

Um... pretty much as expected. Just about matches the structure of other Dom' assault sets and since it's proliferation, these powers were pretty much the given since day one.
Apart from Voltaic Sentinel. Find that a bit weird in the assault set.
Whilst many assume and hope (me too) for an elec based control primary, kind of wonder what the final tier would be in that if not a pet.... although the 'Sentinel doesn't much warrant the same status as the other control pets of course.
Perhaps it's in the assault set because of the potential fury if it was unleashed as a primary set pet 
.
I guess Short Circuit's absence from the secondary *could* give some positive indication of a primary at a later stage.
Elec' assault is probably a little shoe horned by the existing choices in the MU patron pool.
The lack of a top tier elec blast really does make a glaring disparity in the set though.
The biggest problem, is without Short Sircult, it makes the end drain secondary effect pretty useless, and if you want to launch a sapper attack you would be better taking the Energy or Ice secondary for Power Boost + Power Sink (Mu mastery).
I really should do something about this signature.
I love my snipe on my domi, but only for pulling in LGTF, thats about it. The stupidly long range on it always helps too. Other than that, I took it at lvl 49 on my original build, and didnt overly want it.
Also, no short circuit = joke

build up? while nice to have the damage boost, power boost would be nicer. Domination is a huge damage buff as it is.
Not that suprised about the rest, they were kind of givens. But still, Lightning rod on a domi, now THAT would make me consider rolling one!
Not to mention Doms' BU would give just a 68% damage boost as opposed to 100% of Blasters and Scrappers.
I was a bit wth when I first read it but after a bit of musing I actually really like that set. I want a plant/elec for part concept part fun. This new set looks to do just that for me. One query though - does anyone know what Static Discharge does? As I have no idea.
Oh and I'd say dmg output won't too bad really with Thunderstrike buffed with Buildup and Domination - I'm drooling already.
As far as the melees go its gonna be damned fun, but I agree with others on the total lack of a decent upper tier ranged attack. I would assume the sentinel would have to be a really good pet to trump that. The only advantage here is if it does suck I can always avoid it. But the idea of having an uber summoning vill dm makes me smile a lot - creepers, flytrap and sentinel! Thats just awesome! Could even get a patron pet too and go totally insane 
tbh I was expecting a ranged attack with an effect like chain inductions jumping as the tier 9 (similar to the blue blobs on LGTF's hami) with Short Circuit at 35. But an additional pet could make this a truly unique set.

Mind/Elec could be quite fun as the melee attacks have chance to sleep your oponents. Would be nice and cheap too!

And the mental picture of domi then seeds then creepers then buildup and thunderstrike while being flanked by the fly trap and a sentinel is just too fun a mental carnage to not do
Maybe this version of Voltaic Sentinel will have access to Thunderous Blast.

Static discharge is the blaster elec mastery cone attack, one of the better cone attacks in the game.
IMO replace zapp with short circuit, replace voltaic sentinel with a neato new elec tier 3 and viola, a good dom set.

Personally I like the idea of the set as it is now. Worst case voltoic doesn't work in my plan how i want and I get something better - as it stands the build I rolled has the voltoic in it but if sucks once slotted I have the alternative already planned. I for one actually like the look of this new set. Was teaming with an elec hero in RWZ recently and was impressed with what their voltoic was dishing out. Plus theres a concept reason for it. Roll on i12.
It's not so much that I want to trounce all over your preplanned concept, it's that the set doesn't look as if it has what elec SHOULD have, although it does have some of the better damaging ST ranged attacks iirc, and two melees once you get to 10. If they amp up the sentinel, i'd probably play it. Ah screw it, i'd play it anyway because it's new
I do see it being a Mu-style Sentinel for some reason (slight different animation, same attack scale to my knowledge).
I took Sentinel on my Storm/Elec just because I couldn't think of anything else, I do forget to resummon it from time to time, it *does* add to the damage, but the reason I forget is because it isn't a be-all-end-all power.
Maybe for a Domi that could be different, but in my head it is 'If I need something else at 38 I'm taking it' at the moment.

That and it has 4 ST's early on, which is useful for a dom.
I'd have rather had that beefed up Lighting Bolts animation that the Croatoa witches get (Shocking Grasp, or Bolt) tweaked to perform as a nice 38 tier blast at least somewhat in line with what the other Dom sets have (so drop the hold component etc?).
But then I understand why this would never happen and why we have the Sentinel at 38...
Can you imagine the fury over a third tier Elec Blast in the sole domain of Dominators...

The tier9 is a slap into a dominators face.
A power most blaster and defenders skipped because it sucked , now getting ported over as tier9 for doms?
A tier9 that isnt affected by domination seems to be the most stupid thing they could have come up with.
If there isnt an existing power in the game suitable for elec tier9, for gods sake create a new one you did it for blasters too.
No need to just port one of the lousiest powers over damnit
One of the reasons illusion didnt make it to dom primary was , most of it wont benefit from domination, where is the sense in making our most powerfull attack a pet which isnt affected by dom ?
