Stalkers - Shunned by the Masses?
i only have 2 problems with stalkers:
Those that enter a "kill all" mish and run off straight away from the rest of the team uncovering all the map
and those that i cant see in PvP

well ive teamed with many stalkers. the only time i wont like one in the team would be say MORSF otherwise i dont mind them at all

The first time we ever ran a MoLRSF we had a stalker on the team and a darned good one at that - on our first attempt we completed it!
Id rather take a well played stalker on a team than a badly played anything else...

So would I, but then I'd rather play with a good player with six slotted brawl and jump kick (with end reducers)than a bad one without.

Imho stalker concept is not well made in CoX.I love the rogueish assasin type of stalker that Warhammer Online introduced where this kind of AT's could totally vanish on a timer and attack angles made a difference.also that kind of AT had some really good self heals and good melee capabilities even when unhidden.
I dont mind at all stalkers in PvP since they are easiest thing to fight but the AT is too much reliable on a couple of mechanics and is the least tactical set to play in whole game in my opinion.
- Too much reliability on stealth mechanism
- Too much reliability on Assasin strike
- 0 build flexibility due to tight power set up needs.

My sentiments exactly.

I have a feeling that Bane Spiders and Night Widows will be like stalkers "fixed" in the way you suggest.

My hope exactly.

they're not intended to stay in combat toe-to-toe like Brutes, Tanks or Scrappers

Someone needs to remind the devs of that fact. Looking specifically at mayhem missions, hide doesn't exist anywhere on the map as far as longbow are concerned and it's none existent inside the bank once you've opened the safe. If you have a build that can't survive melee for a few minutes, you're next to useless on this type of mission.
A sad and very true fact I avoid Mayhems like the plague unless in a large team where I can pick mobs off from around the edges
Golden-Phoenix - Lvl 50 Fire/Fire Tank
Oodja Nikabolokov - Lvl 50 SS/WP Brute
Baby-Phoenix - Lvl 50 Peacebringer
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could Chuck Norris?
Mayhem missions are really easier when you free the guy in jail.
You all poo-poo on the stalkers weak spots, but one point of credit for them is when it comes to ghosting a mission ^.^ no one ever mentions that do they :P
granted they do have a couple of weak points, but then it just makes people strive to make more solid builds for the AT.
True - a Stalker with Recall Friend can be great for some missions/TFs lol

I have recently rolled a Nin/Nin Stalker and as my only Villain she is good fun to solo. I am however, more of a team player enjoying the general humour and conversation in teams - not to mention the good xp!
Sadly I have been struggling to find teams for my little stalker and so far she has had to do the past 3 levels all alone Team requests and tells are either ignored or flatly declined - are stalkers really thart hated by the teaming masses or does she just need a bath?

Stalkers were always the 'weak' AT for teams because n00bs played it and tried scrapping with it. I do not see why a proper team should not have a stalker now for the bosses and such, especially with the new effects added. Mayhems are doable (Easily, if you ask me) in normal difficulty or even higher with a proper IO'd toon.
Thread necromancy is rife still.
I would of had a stalker on the basis that they can succeed where holds can't let alone there being some human being behind the character looking to discover the set but I can tell you know at least some small minor thing about the game.
A stalker now has no need for the rest of the team (despite them being there) when it comes to the first SF if they're prepared for it. I like that.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
Curiously enough, I find Mayhem missions really easy as a Stalker. It's all about not rushing things and making sure you fight the ambushes on your terms.
I don't think my Db/Nin Stalker has ever failed a Mayhem on her own.
Since the changes to Stalker damage and criticals went live earlier in the year Stalkers are now a far more valuable asset for a team.
Well with any AT you trigger the ambushes. Take time between triggers and handle each in turn and you're done.

My main villain is a nin/regen Stalker, and I've never had cause to regret getting her to level 50. Finding teams was never really a priority for me, but I rarely had complaints whenever I did join teams.
With all that experience soloing, I quickly learned which mobs were the most debilitating or annoying. As a result, my team play focuses around eliminating them as quickly as possible with AS and snipe powers. (She is particularly adept at taking out the surgeons in the Imperious Task Force.)
That said, I do have trouble joining teams at times because people are unaware of my playing style: slip in and take out the mezzers, healers and the scattered mobs outside the Corruptor's AoE radius.
I have always played Malashandra as support in teams, rather than front-line, even though she is more than capable of surviving large spawns and even EB's due to IH and MoG, both of which I rarely have cause to use when part of a group.
A good team does not need more than one Stalker, but even a single support damage dealer can tip the balance during an unexpected ambush or a previously unseen spawn. (Which highlights another vital role: Reconnaisance. Just don't go running off too far unless you plan to teleport the party to the final room in a ghostable mission.)
Do you find Brutes charging in and sharing your targets?
Some key targets are one shottable for a brute so AS plus that is excessive.
I find that, I pick on a target, goto AS and wham the Brutes chose it too.
On my Brute I make a point to choose a different target. If there is one stalker. I may target them to see where they are going but this is no good for fury so one hopes that a Stalker can be decisive and quick.
I like macros myself over binds and some macros that are good for me are auto target macros and warnings.
/Macro Ta, "$$targetname Sapper"
/Macro Sp, say "$$target spotted"
With more than one stalker I may not take anything out upon entering but as a Brute split myself to aura those near one Stalker and Taunt those near the other pending.
But I do find it a nuisance when brutes share a target, I swear mine could be the nearest one but yet away from the bulk of the enemy group and a Brute would still have it.
You can leave the fight sooner for the next but you've got stealth suppression to wait for, so there is not much win win on this intention particularly if the enemy is offed before you got AS off, it means downtime.

Heh, I've actually started playing my ninja blade/ninjitsu stalker again, well last weekend really and managed to solo to level 14 in that time, keep in mind I took AS at level 10.
Still finding it good fun, its all about knowing where to put yourself in relation to the enemy you're facing.
Night Widows get placate, and they score critical hits against placated targets.
I really should do something about this signature.
