'Reverend Lives Again' Paragon Times article by Clive Jones.
The reverend Pious Hunter, whose death in January was shrouded in conspiracy, has somehow miraculously been returned to life. It's been nothing more than fansite rumour for the past two months but now the facts are out. Reverend Pious Michael Hunter, a qualified doctor in Religion, Metaphysics and Parapsychology, also holds a seat in the High Council of the FBSA United States Government Office of MAGI (the Modern Arcane Guild of Investigation). The office has issued an official statement stating that 'the hero known as The Priest who was declared clinically dead at 10:30 PM on Wednesday 20th January 2010, is alive and fully recovered.'
The Paragon Times caught up with the Reverend late last night after his meeting with Azuria in Atlas Park, he had this to say; "Three days after my burial in February, I felt my spirit return to my body. My death was like a three-day out of body experience, that's the best way I could describe it.

Reverend Pious lives again. These were his very own words, "whether you believe in a supernatural power or not, someone up there gave me a second chance to continue my work on Earth. As a civil servant and enforcer of the Law, and MAGI-elected arcane hero of the City, I shall continue to lead the Nighthunters to stand up against normal or abnormal criminal elements in our great country. I will strive to offer second chances and fair treatment to all, living or otherwise, as Ive been given."
So it seems the Priest will not be pressing assault charges against Nazi super soldier Ubermensch Kahn of the Corporation. Kahn killed a Longbow Agent in order to summon The Priest to Warburg for a confrontational fight and is now wanted by authorities. Pious suffered multiple fractures of the cranium and vertebrae, six broken ribs, fractured knee joints, massive internal bleeding around the eye sockets and cerebral lobe, before dying of arcane poisoning.
'Pistol Killed the Priest' Paragon Telegraph article by Amy Chapman.
The truth is finally out on who killed the Priest. Alicia Barzini aka Pistol, Pious's sister through marriage, was charged with his murder in late February after she willingly turned herself in and confessed to have caused the bullet wounds found on the Priest's body after he'd been hospitalized, by offloading poison-tipped arcane rounds into his already bruised and broken body. Alicia explained that the security scare at Talos Medical was staged to lure the reverend to Memco Private Care were through her corporate connections, was able to pass security and assassinate her target.
Pistol's crime is now attempted murder but Hunter is again dropping charges. Alicia will now face probation and rehabilitation by the Priest instead of prison. Her release from the Zigg on the 14th is expected to be picketed by anti criminal leniency protestors. The Reverend awaits a string of assault and mistreatment charges. His defence is reasonable use of force in a warzone and battle situation.

Through his many years of civil service, Reverend Pious has averted three natural disasters and saved the world countless times. He's contributed much to charity organizations across America and the greater world. He helped many citizens on a personal level, housed many of Kings Row's homeless, helped rebuild closed schools, protected the people of Paragon City from petty criminals, street thugs, terrorist attacks and even two alien invasions. He married Damsel, his high school sweetheart and started a family off-world. He survived abduction by his old nemesis Alicia Barzini, and her infamous outlaws, the Gang. He took responsibility of his twelve wayward brothers when one of them breached the New Heroes Union. After shutting down Countess Crey's cloning projects, he assisted the famous British warriors, the Art of War, in an effort against Arachnos. He uncovered Doctor Mechano's villainous alliance of anarchists but was taken down by skilled assassins. Although he recovered, Pious was later caught up in a hailstorm of slanderous media propaganda and his death, whether at the hands of Ubermensch Kahn or Pistol, or some magical disease, was a direct result of bad press engineered by Arachnos, in their foiled plan to invade Atlas Park and conquer Paragon City. But Pious was no mere human. He was more than just another superhero. He was a saviour, an idea that simply cannot be killed. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, it is a fact that on the third day, after his burial, Pious Hunter rose from his grave. Charred remains found in Steel Canyon
Over ten bodies were found scattered around the city last night, more were expected to be found, the bodies were reported serperately as passerbys saw giant pumes of smoke rising from alleyways.
At first the PPD suspected Helions however among the bodies were two well known Helion members, the bodies were apparently burned so bad the PPD had to use their dental records to identify the bodies.
At each crime scene there was writing burned into the ground, the word "Nighthunters" was found at each scene, the PPD are expected to speak to the heroic monster hunters known as the Nighthunters, to see if they can shed any light on the subject.

A group of Lost have been found, beaten to a pulp, in an abandoned warehouse in Skyway City. No heroes have come forth to claim responsibility for the arrests.

A group of civilians from a housing project in King's Row drove several groups of the Circle of Thorns away from the area near the yellow line station, yesterday.
New Hero, or New Threat?
Fears that an unregistered vigilante with something against Hellions have become more pronounced. Not less than forty of the magic-using gang were found trussed up in the car park beside the GCPD station this morning.
Respect the Family? Hell no!
Citizens of Independence Port, apparently fed up with the constant harrassment and deal-brokering of The Family, have taken steps to clean the mob from the streets. Dock-workers, shop-owners, warehouse operative, even an accountant, are reported to have been seen chasing crowds of smartly-dressed mobsters through the streets. Rumours of some of the civilians apparently using superpowers are unsubstantiated, though it is quite possible that a couple of superheroes were amongst the crowd.
Zig Zag.
A citizen of Brickstown, angry at the constant reports of escaping prisoners and the dangers posed to the innocents in the shadow of the world-class Ziggursky Penitentiary, has begun a one-man campaign to "Catch the Crooks".
Toby Morris (37), an unemployed trucker, originally from Dallas, TX, has been picketing the prison every day for the last fortnight.
Some wild tales suggest that Mr Morris has demonstrated some form of mutant weather control powers, calling down lightning and rain on prisoners who are attempting to break out of the heavy security of the penitentiary, but Mr Morris roundly denies any such abilities.
"I'm just a man who's tired of running scared around that blot on the landscape. If enough people agree with me, maybe the City will do something about it!"
Scared of Spiders?
Not the construction workers in Northern Overbrook! These hard-working labourers have been tirelessly making the city a little nicer by rebuilding some of the splendour of Overbrook, despite persistent interference from the illegal activities of the Etoile Islands organisation known as Arachnos. Recently, though, some of the braver souls in the crews have been actively chasing down the heavily armed and armoured intruders. There has been no loss of life, but a couple of injuries. When questioned in hospital, one of the men had no memory of charging down an energy cannon-wielding soldier with a crowbar - nor of knocking the brute off his feet with one swing! Hopefull the amnesia will be temporary, but there is something of a conspiracy of silence between the workers - any further details of their exploits are not at all forthcoming.

Bombing damages Olive Bough Restauraunt, Massacre Found Inside.
Paragon City Telegraph, Friday 14th May.
The explosions and fire that rocked the Olive Bough restaurant on Talos Island late Wednesday evening has come under investigation of the police, after the bodies of at least forty people were found in the basement floors. Police are appealing for anyone in the area at 2300 hours that may have seen something, and they have reason to believe it may be related to the Dockland Road Port killings last Wednesday, where the bodies of ten known Family affiliates were found shot and then burned, along with a large quantity of Supadyne.
Talos Island Police Precinct have set up a confidential line for information, on 555-7692.
Lost and Found
Scientists were at a loss Wednesday when the Lost cure, discovered by yet another hero on Tuesday evening, vanished from their vaults. No evidence of any entry into the laboratory has been discovered, yet the cure, the wand, and the recipe have all vanished without a trace.
"It's irritating," says University specialist Montague Castanella, one of the researchers who led the search for the cure, "But at least it's giving our heroes something to do."
The Lost, a perpetual menace on the streets of Paragon City, are known to be victims of a strange condition which is both incredibly painful and makes them extremely powerful. This week marks the 1,000th time the recipe has been found, only to be stolen yet again.
"What am I supposed to do, call Ascendant and tell him 'sorry, we lost it, can you get it for us again?" Castanella points out. "So we have to get a new hero, every single time, and just hope that this one takes. Meanwhile, the heroes can only save ten or twenty people with every wand we make. It's really very frustrating."
Authorities say that, once again, they are completely stymied.
"We've got nothing," one anonymous officer was quoted as saying. "It's really rather embarrassing. They just waltzed out of the building with a multi-billion-dollar bit of technology that could save countless lives, and we haven't found anything."

Fourteen Die in Drug Battle
Headline dated 2nd July 2010, appearing on page three of the Paragon Times
Fourteen people are dead and more than two dozen injured after violence errupted in a Mexican village near the US border in the late evening of June 30th. Police have kept the area isolated, citing the danger of still active gunmen and potential booby traps as an excuse for supressing knowledge of the massacre until this morning. After the area was finally declared clear by SWAT teams, the police discovered one of the largest hauls of cocaine to be uncovered so far this year.
Further investigation discovered thirty young women in a small sub-basement of one the villas in the village. It is believed that, along with being a major drug trafficing hub, the village may have acted as a stop off along a human trafficing route shipping women into the United States for distribution to prostitution rings in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Paragon City, and New York.
What caused the gun battle which preciptated the end of this town's illegal operations remains unclear.

Brawl at Japanese Music Club
Sunday 25th, Paragon Times.
Last night at around 2140 Japanese music and culture club Haven J was subject to property damage as a fight broke out. Police arrested fourteen individuals on drugs related charges. Eyewitnesses state that the group were celebrating graduation before several expressed metahuman abilities and began to damage the building. The police arrived and were assisted in the arrest by three off-duty heroes including local musician and DJ Ron Himezaki, also known as 'The Lyrical Cyclone'. Haven J will be closed while repairs take place.
Explosion Rocks galaxy City

An explosion on the roof of a building on the north side of Gemini park was heard by citizens across Galaxy. The explosion, which happened around 2am last night, appears to have been the result of vigilante action against a group of terrorists who had established a lookout post on the building.
Investigating officers stated that, "Three bodies were recovered, believed to belong to the mercenary organisation known as the Knives of Artemis. We do not know, at this time, why the base had been established. We are investigating the bombing with intention to arrest the murderer."

Fire Destroys Warehouse

A fire claimed the main warehouse of Garibaldi Imports in Independence Port last night. Fire fighters tried for four hours to put out the blaze, but the building is thought to be a complete loss.
Investigators' preliminary findings suggest that the fire was the result of arson. Winesses have reported hearing three small explosions before the fire was noticed at 3am.
Security guards evacuated the building once the fire took hold, but one fire fighter was wounded when a section of roof collapsed.

Rolling Rock magazine, August 2010 edition, Band News section
The Burning Sons, up and coming Brummy metal band have announced their plans to break into the American market with a new video to be released in late September. This will be the fourth single off their debut album 'Into the Divide,' and for this US intro they are going with 'Shades of Grey,' a rock ballad fairly heavily influenced by some of Linkin' Park's work, especially 'Crawling.'
Band leader Eddy Blake announced that the band would start filming the video on location in Poland on August the 16th, along with American superheroine Annette 'Nitoichi' Barrington who recently appeared on the cover of the 'NUTTY' men's magazine. Blake said, "We're really keen to work with Annette because we really think she can bring a bit of a spark to the two rolls she'll be playing; two sides of the same coin characterwise, so to speak. Besides, man, have you seen her? She's gorgeous!"

Local Businessman Killed in Assassination
Dateline: Steel Canyon, August 3rd 2010
Well known businessman Earnest Vano was killed this afternoon when an assassin's bullet penetrated the side of his limousine. Police have sealed off the area, including a hotel about two-thirds of a mile from the site where Mr Vano was killed.
Earnest Vano came from humble roots, but rapidly built up a reputation as a well-liked business tycoon with his finger in a number of lucrative pies. While there were rumours of an FBI investigation into his dealings five years ago, nothing was ever uncovered and Vano's large charity dealings have made him popular with the local community.

A police spokesman had this to say: "There are currently no suspects in this case, however we believe that this was a professional hit. Mr Vano was killed by a high calibre bullet from over a thousand yards away. Anyone having any information on this case should contact the Steel Canyone precinct.'
Inside sources have stated that the bullet penetrated armoured glass to punch through Mr Vano's chest. He died almost instantly. At this time, no indications have come from the family regarding a change in management of his company, which is family owned.

British Meta's Out of Control?
It seems our friends in Europe are having a little trouble with their home grown metahumans. Reports of a simple mugging incident gone wrong have recently come across the newswire where reportedly an unknown metahuman interrupted the incident and then proceeded to beat the hapless mugger, a Superadine addict by the name of Thomas Malone, into a bloody pulp.
Miss Jacqueline Peterson, the victim of the mugging, reported that her unknown rescuer, a woman, appeared out of no where and tore in to her attacker after he charged at her. What followed left Miss Peterson physically sick and she's currently being treated for shock in a nearby hospital.
Mr Malone, a known petty criminal with a long record of minor muggings, is reported to be in a stable condition after rescue workers extracted him from a streetside trashcan, most of the bones in his arms and legs literally pulverised and with several deep lacerations to his torse. Only his superadine enhanced physique saved him from much more serious injury, possibly even death.
This reporter has to ask, just what is the British government doing to ensure that such over the top vigilantism is kept firmly under control, and suggests that maybe they should look at Paragon City as a fine example of how to control such individuals.

If youre planning a trip through Independence Port this morning, better go the long way. The Bell-wave Bridge has been closed to traffic for the last ten minutes, and looks as if it will stay that way while police investigate a disturbance near the south pier.

Police say that the blockage of the Bell-wave Bridge for over an hour this morning was the result of reports that someone had jumped from the southern pier. Motorists reported seeing a woman falling past the roadway at around eight-thirty, and the PPD responded quickly to close off the bridge and begin searches. At this time no body has been found and no one has identified the apparent suicide.

Reports of someone jumping to their death from the Bell-wave Bridge this morning, which brought rush hour traffic to a standstill, have been declared a hoax or a sick joke this evening as police divers failed to find any evidence of the apparent suicide.
Several drivers crossing the bridge reported seeing the body of a woman falling past the bridge at around eighty-thirty. Despite the rapid response of police patrol units to the scene, and the early deployment of divers beneath the bridge, no body has been found. Police added that no note or other evidence was found on the bridge, despite a thorough search and have closed the case.

The presenter looks up at the camera , well, the telprompter, and developes a slightly bored expression. "Peregrine Island Mutual was today's bank heist target with Arachnos troops and mercenaries providing cover for another of Lord Recluse's goons to disturb the peace. While these attempts are frequently thwarted, this time the thief got away with an estimated haul of around a quarter of a million in cash and bearer bonds."
The visuals switch to footage of the thief leaving the bank. She is fairly tall, has short, blond hair, is dressed in dark, padded armour, and is carrying a pair of Vanguard-style energy swords.
The voice says, "Police are looking for the woman shown in the video footage, an as yet unidentified villain."

Tragedy strikes Paragon City.
Tragedy struck earlier today as a rampaging robot attacked a school in outer Paragon City, leaving close to one thousand dead and many injured. The robot was shortly destroyed by heroes who responded to the attack, the cause of which is still unknown, but suspected to be super naturally motivated.
Police suspect the attack is linked to an earlier spate of kidnappings that occurred during the morning.

New Figures Twenty Seven Dead, an unknown number missing.
The previous figures displayed by our News show/paper were incorrect, the current figures show twenty seven as dead after the shocking discovery of a Armageddon standard bunker under Saint Johnss Faith School. Inside the bunker, the majority of the schools pupils were found safe and well, though several were taken to hospital for minor injuries and shock.
Investigations continue into who is responsible for the attack, and who created the bunker.

Off Duty Police Officer Killed near Industrial Avenue
Police issued a statement to the effect that Officer Kerry Clement was killed late last night in the Industrial Avenue area of King's Row. Officer Clement was a single man, 23 years old, from a family of police officers, and a respected member of his local church. His niece is an officer in the Galaxy City Precinct.
Currently, gang activity is suspected, but sources revealed that peculiarities in the case have resulted in investigators from the FBSA being invited in to assist.
Industrial Avenue is noted as an area of high crime figures. Both the Skulls and the Lost operate in this area, and it has long been known as one of the red light districts of the city. Officer Clement's beat covered the area of King's south of the Precinct, including the avenue. Reports indicate that he recently survived an attack by Skulls thanks to the help of a local, unnamed, hero.

EXPLOSION IN INDEPENDENCE PORT
(Independence Port, Paragon City) Yesterday ground shook in Independence Port as a warehouse, believed to be empty, exploded in significant magnitude. Suspecting possible villaneous activity, several PPD patrol were dispatched to investigate, backed up by hero assistance. What is found out so far is that the warehouse was used as a large drug lab, and the investigators assume the explosion was caused by careless handling of volative materials. The officials have found some bodies, yet unindentified, but thanks to the remote location of the warehouse, death-toll is suspected to be low.
PPD STATION UNDER ATTACK - 15 INJURED
(Independence Port, Paragon City) PPD station in Independence Port was attacked yesterday. The attackers quickly found out they were unable to win the battle, and retreated from the station. 11 PPD officers and 4 Longbow officers were injured. There has been some accusations of the assailants being Family hitmen.
PPD PRISONER TRANSFER AMBUSHED
(Kings Row, Paragon City) PPD awakened and PPD psi-corps were alerted yesterday when a convoy of 4 prisoner transport vans was under attack by a powerful psychic. Transport van drivers were rendered braindead, causing the vans to drift aimlessly and then stop. Soon after that the transport vans were attacked by a wave of armed hitmen, accompanied by heavily armed cyborgs and androids. However, the attackers were not able to free the suspects. Instead, during the firefight, all the vans caught fire, and burned to the ground. Tragically, all the suspects and now braindead PPD drivers inside burned to death. Seeing the rescue operation gone terribly wrong, the yet unknown assailants retreated hastily. PPD and Longbow, accompanied by valiant heroes, are still searching for the assailants, possibly still hiding in Kings Row.

The two stills so far released are 'tasters,' according to the band's management, featuring the star of the video, American superheroine Annette 'Nitoichi' Barrington, in each of her two roles. Hero Found Dead in High Park
The body of Light Below, a Kheldian 'Warshade' was discovered dumped in a backstreet in the High Park district late this afternoon. The body was decapitated, and showed signs of energy weapon damage. At this time, it is unknown why the hero's medical teleport transponder did not activate. Police had no comment on the murder at this early stage.

.this often crime ridden area seem to have a new problem, Locals have reported a number of bloody corpses of both Family goons and Council troopers being spotted floating in the docks, both sides seemingly the victims of a third unknown party.
Our PPD sources confirm that recovery of at least five bodies, all bearing a range of savage bite wounds, burns, and large slashes.
The identities of the individuals are not known but at least two are said to have been wearing Council uniforms.

Chaos at Port Noble, Striga Isle ..
...the docks at Port Noble where plunged into chaos late last night when the bulk transporter vessel the Kian Tzu, inbound From Singapore, sunk in the main channel into the harbour.
First reports indicate that there was a series of explosions aboard the ship, resulting in it rapidly sinking. The Coastguard say no members of the crew have been found, and no distress message was recieved.
The Kian Tzu went down in the main approuch channel to the Port Noble docks, all other shipping has been diverted until the Coastguard can assess how badly the channel is blocked.

Veterans Hospital Destroyed in Fire
The Galaxy Girl Long Term Hero Care Unit, dedicated to the care of veterans of the Rikti Wars no longer able to care for themselves, was burnt to the ground in a massive fire last night. Witnesses reported several explosions prior to the fires which rapidly swept the facility.

Despite the efforts of fire fighters and local heroes, three staff and four patients were killed in the fire. The remainder of the patients were transfered to other locations around the city while a decision is made regarding the rebuilding of the facility. Neither police nor firefighters were available to give any comment on how the conflagration began.
