hey ppl.i can't connect to game and i think i'm gonna be crazy.i don't understand much what you are saying to do to solve this problem.can u explain it again?

I don't even have an updater.eu.exe in my folder yet my playNC account states that I should be getting the EU version.

Guess I'll try to freak my regional settings from Iceland to the UK in case the updater things we're the 51st state. If not, I'll try that FTP link to see if the build I'm getting is actually broken.

You can rename your CohUpdater.exe to the correct filename. It'll work, but you'll only get English language.

I cannot believe that worked.

FFM, you're the man. Words cannot describe the feeling of relief I'm experiencing.

But yeah, the powers that be should perhaps fix this. The only reason I haven't given up like the people who I invited with me is because I'm stubborn and was born with a disassembled 8086 in my hand.

Ah well, I'm happy, you're all hopefully happy so I seem to be out of stuff to complain about. Thanks all who contributed here.

FWIW, there are instruction on here in a sticky on how to get the proper EU client if you need it.

Could someone run me through how to fix this log in problem from the beggining mine says about the .eu.exe updater not being valid

First, right click on your game launcher - the one called "CohUpdater", then select "Properties" - it should say in the window near that top "CohUpdater.EU.exe" - if it says anything else, change it to "CohUpdater.EU.exe" - that should fix the problem.

When I try to log in to the game with my villain characters I always get disconnected. They locked out in Mercy Island.
I always get the message: "No mapServer connection. Try again."

What specs are you running on your computer? Are you getting lots of lag as well?

i still have issues with logging in when i connect to game and click on union server it seems to time out then says unbale to connect to DB server, i initially downloaded the clienty from the account page then redid it from the uk link from this thread but to no avail, when i try to change the command path it just tells me that the path is invalid ? any help would be great

hi,

i hope that the Administrators of COH/COV see this.

i've just reactivated my NC account to play COH/COV Combind, but on login it continues to Crash, i even tried Safe Mode, and no luck, im on Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit so i may require a Vista Patch..

i have paid for 1month and i dought im going to be able to access the game, so unless the Problem is sorted out by the Administrators of the COH/COV then i may have wasted my money on a Game i can't play ...

if you know anyone that can help with my problem or you've heard if theres going to be a patch that might actually get my version working, then send me a message

Hi,

Please see this thread for instructions on contacting the support team, who will be happy to assist with finding a resolution to your problem. CoH/CoV should run fine on Vista.

i downloaded the eu 14 day trial cause i couldn't find the american one, now i can't log on, pretty much the same as LeRoi. says i don't have the correct id or password. do i need the american 14 day trial?

Did you install it on 'C:/Program Files/City of Heroes'? If so, just head to the file and rename the CohUpdater.EU.exe file to CohUpdater.exe

That's only if you want to access the US servers, and your trial account is for the US servers. Odds are he fell victim to the install bug that makes a shortcut to the US servers. If he reverses your instructions, he should be fine.

then how about this everytime i log on before it shows any pictures of the game there is the 'loading' that flashes from that point then what happens is it 'says the game is not working' what is going on?????

i've unistalled and re-installed but it cant't get past that particluar point.

When you launch the updater, click the little "Safe Mode" checkbox. There's probably an incompatible video setting being read and causing issues. Also, make sure you have updated your videocard drivers.

EDIT: Also, CoH has known issues with SLi/Crossfire setups. Also dual displays and Windowsblinds. If you have/use a configuration like this, disable it.

Well, i have this kind problem. I cant get into game at all. i checked my shortcut, it was correct. Checked firewall, no problems. I have everything like it should be, but my game aint working.

I did play US trial last 4 days. went game shop today, bought both CoH/CoV EU VERSION and gamegard. i uninstalled/removed trial, activated CoH/CoV at PlayNC. Same time i add'd gametime card. Installed the game and tried to go play. Says same thing as the first poster.

Shortcuts = 100% right and works
Account = Exists and have been payed
Firewall = No problems

really, what gives? its driving me nuts.

how do you change it form cohupdater.exe to cohupdater.eu.exe? do you change the text, because i cannot do this - it says: (("CohUpdater.exe")specified in the target box is not valid. make sure the path and file name are correct) what does this mean

You're not clear, are you trying to change it TO Cohupdater.EU.exe, and it says this isn't valid? If so, see the thread near the top of this section telling you how to get the EU updater.
