Ooooh!
Sure, count me in. Only have the 1 toon eligible for 1 vs 1's, but should be a laugh.
I would love to attend but I think it should be limited to 1 character only as these matches could last forever!
Really nice idea can't wait for it
I'd enter but I prefer teams. I'll be watching though
[ QUOTE ]
If it ends as a draw +1 to each person's score?
[/ QUOTE ]
give that man a star
and both the toons get used so both have to pic new toons?
Im in...Imaginary, Imag and Captain Freon.

I would think you dont have to be 44. Just be an advantance as all matchs will set to a wieght clas. so the choice is yours if you enter or not.
Well do we or do we not? Overall the idea is nice, but rules are limiting.
[ QUOTE ]
1) To enter players must have at least 3 level 44+ toons, heroes or villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
At this stage rules are still flexible however no firm decision has been made yet as we are currently working out how much of a disadvantage non 44+ toons would be at.
If its just going to be lambs to the slaughter chances are the rule will stay, but if in the tests we do level doesnt play that big a factor the minimum level will change BUT the level the fights are at will not be lowered.
For testing I could try fighting my lvl 34 toon on test server tonight just to see if its reasonable. Any willing opponents?

His only reason for running the competition at level 44 in the first place was to negate Hamios from use and stop duplications, which I completely agree with. The problem is this isn't the case as any exemplared level 50 will still have his Hamios in use.
[ QUOTE ]
- Should matches be played at 44? I believe so. Why? To negate hamio-s. Eeek! Why! Well this is about single player skill, not who can copy over to test and duplicate HO's. If this was to take place on live I would say allow hamis, but not sure about test - opinions please.

Therefore the event may as well be run at level 50, or if we don't want epic powers, level 38. I think level 50 is much more exciting 1v1 and makes every alt a lot more versatile, interesting and imo makes matches more equal.
My main point is that the events level shouldn't be decided on an incorrect reason.
If you run the event on test there is no possible way to stop players duplicating Hamios, Ive thought about it a lot and the only way would be to not allow any level 47+ alt to enter the event, (Which would make a crappy event). I guess all you can do is ask nicely for players not to do it, in the hope that they want to win without duplicating. Personally I would extremely dislike the idea of winning due to the fact I had an advantage through the aid of cheating.
The level fights are to be at is one of many things being considered, its unliklely (but still possible) to go lower then 44, it may change to 50 theres a few other factors still to be worked out, and any decisions one way or another will be posted for discusion and feedback

Unfortunatly certain players who shall remain nameless do not feel this way and enhancement duplication has always played a part in test server pvp.

I agree but as I said there is no way to stop it happening if the event is held on the test server.
Was just saying the event's level should be decided by other factors and not Hamio duplication, as theres nothing that can be done about it.
[EDIT]
Just thought I'd also mention that this event looks very promising, I'm excited about it, and will most definately be entering!
first off, a big thanks for the translation! secondly im on my mobile so will post more shortly.
OK, thanks for all the posts..heres some further news:
1) Looking to start this around mid to late June
2) Ive thought long and hard about the hami-o situation ( about 2minutes). Until Chez and I run some test to see if fighting at 40ish in a 50 comp really does make a huge difference, my current train of thought is leaning towards having matches played at 50 after all. The reasons for this are as follows:
i) Many people already have a few hamios at least on their char.
ii) Only the finals will be played on test
iii) Tourney isnt due to start until mid June, and IO's will be in use by then. Top level uber pvpers need to be adaptive, and in the all new I9 spotlight, this will be put to the test. I dont think there will be time for people to collect enough IO's to create perfect FoTMIO(trademark) builds, and it will be nice to see how people adapt to this.
3) I need two volunteers to help me organise things on the French and German side.
4) As for the format, im undecided on the number of fights. Currently arguing the toss on the following two:
i) First to three. As initially laid out, except if the scores become level at 2 each, then the 5 and deciding match will be a first to ten domination. Chez has made a nice suggestion, that if scores are level at two each, the Toons each player takes into the final match only are decided on an RPS basis ( ie random ).
ii) If this seems a little too long for peeps, then how about first to two? Same rules as normal, cept its first to two.
Ill be emailing Bridger shortly with all comp details to see if we can get some red name endorsement!
Sounds like fun this one, im in i think
Well Im sure I'll be entering I'll try get one up before June to make 3 toons. Glad your leaning towards the 50 level as I just got my scrap a full HO build on live so having 27 HOs on him and not being allowed to use it wouldnt have been very nice :P Waiting to hear more
If the tourney is that far away then I might be able to raise another character to the level required..
looking foward to this and the start date is nice bit after my coursework deadlines, looks like i can get my lv46 a few lv's higher
Another question that needs to be answered:
How would people prefer the stages to be set?
S4 style: Where player get a few days to organise their next match with the opponent
or
All turn up on a certain night and bash it out (ooh err)?
Personally i like being able to organise the matches with your opposition. This way, matches are more likely to b arranged!

theres my answer and i'd say at the very least u shudnt start this tourny until the knockout stage of C4 is finished. ideally i'd say do it after the whole thing is finished but that cud take a while. i'd wait til 28th may to see how many have entered C4 (thus giving a rough idea of length of time of the tourny) b4 putting a start date on the tourny
agreed x mate, although itll be interesting tp see what level c4 takes off...What do you others think? Im still wanting to aim for mid to late june, is that good for all?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't suppose there would be anything to stop someone with less than 3 toon's at 44+ entering you'd just have to except that you where putting your self at a disadvantage. Still don't mean you can't have fun though
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be different. Also if this is on test server you can have multiple builds out of the same character (copies).
I don't play my tank in pvp, period. Not even if I was paid real money. So that leaves me with one eligible character. Sorry but I couldn't help thinking a "you need 10 lvl 50s to participate so I win by default" chain of reasoning. Sorry for sounding overly negative.
