Super tanker vs Poop Tanker

You are esxpecting me to moan about DDT's etc....

No i actually have a geniune question to ask reference pvping

Ive made (and deleted) a whole lot of tankers and my favourite is still my Fire/EM tanker (Which i made before they became FoTM BTW hehe)

But in PvP ive noticed that things are pretty evenly balanced as far as the different tank sets go. i have the advantage over a Stoney with respect to speed obviously, and without going into the pro's and cons of each type which would of course take all week.

Im just interested to know what other people think is their all time greatest pvp tanker set really. i got fed up with Ice but thats not really because of PvP so much as lack of experience at the time.

Im still inclined to think Fire/EM is one of the best but then im biased really, Igniter has kept me amused for longer than any of my other Toons.

For duels and zones i'd say ice/em is the best
For big team pvp maybe fire/em, followed by ice/em and invul/em, in that order.
For sirens only, i'd say ice/ss

I love my Ice/EM. Once I got ganked by 2Stalkers, 1Corr and 1Dom at RV and managed to kill the Dom, Corr and 1 of the stalkers without dying. The other one just kept running away and popping elude.

Later on, the Corr sent me tells saying I was really tough to kill and started asking me stuff about the Ice set

ice/em is pretty good at all aspects, the other armours are massively disadvantaged if a random /cold corrupter comes in

For sirens call I would say fire/ss is best, rages crash hurts ice too badly without hibernate to take cover in and fires heal kicks [censored].

Fire doesnt have +percep nor an aoe slow aura, tho. Ice can recover from rage crash quite easily with ea+hoarfrost too.

I'd say both Fire/Em and Ice/Em are good. One is more damaging, the other more survivable.

Don't rule out SS as a secondary though. If you want a really super annoying Taunt machine, you can't go wrong with the uber accuracy combo of Rage+Focused Accuracy. Will hit straight through almost any defense

try it, I have a ice/ss at lvl 37 and it doesnt function as you envision, it really doesnt cope with the rage crash well as you end up in the middle of a fight with no defences and unable to attack for 10 seconds, whoopie, so you counter by barely using rage so whats the point of taking SS? For SC SS should be used by res sets.

Percep although nice to have i tend to find is a bit of an academic point. The crafty monkeys have means and ways of getting round it anyway. I tend to find standing in water is quite handy and hit burn as soon as you see any movement. Oops i can seeeeee yoooooouuuu.

Tried my granite/SS in RV with a full specced tohit/acc freak, basicly i can hit anything. Downside became the unresistable damage, even with cap resist (sonic bubbles) 3 AS hits managed to drop my health scary low. Luckely having a Kin around, keeps you moving around I can hit through ice defence without problems, having quite a range of attacks i can cope with the -recharge pretty ok.

tried my fire/em, its nice but once you get -recharge on your butty its kinda over.

Fire/SS is a good choice too, especially for siren, not really good for warburg and more than a descent choice for RV (thanks to the epics if you do the right choice). High accuracy, high dammage, blazing aura and burn are constantly boosted by rage. And with hasten you can acheive a double rage + fiery embrace.
