Life after i8
Can't really say I've noticed any problem with end on my mind/storm. Psy tornado used to be a great high damage power but without containment it falls considerably below terrify for damage (it used to be comparable), although it does at least recharge faster. its also one of the few powers I've had that was affected by ED and I've still not respecced her so think its either 5 or 6 slotted for damage still, stamina incidently being the other one.

Pretty much what I had expected when they announced the nerfs: not a big deal for damage-oriented builds (like my fire/kin or ill/rad), but it does (did) make soloing much harder for control-oriented ones (like my ice/storm or earth/kin). Didn't affect much my grav/sonic who was respecced into a full-support PvP build. I never thought this would "break" my toons, what I did argue is that not all controllers had "extreme" (whatever that means) damage capabilities and unfortunately the change would mainly hurt those who didn't.
CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>
Only toon I had it with was Carni (Ill/Storm) and she's about the same in terms of damage. She was Primal too so the damage was incidental. Switched back to Ice now and I do notice it on Ice Bolt but Ice Storm is about the same (I don't have many aoe containment powers). For my upcoming Controllers it means I won't be just taking Fire automatically, theres actually a good 3 or 4 way tie of what will suit the toons playstyle.
I gave up trollers and now playing all the other ATs
I hate it
Well unless taking the last power actually lowers my damage I feel like a damage machine and cant imagine how stupid it would have been before the change (I was level 40 when I8 happened)

As expected, my Fire/kin cuts through mobs like butter still. My Grav/Rad is still viable with a healthy slotting Dam/Mez Hami-O's to make up for the lost damage in other powers. My Mind/FF is having some trouble though, but I fortunately only play him in PVP, where he's not used for damage.
There were nefs?
Certain controller secondaries psuedo buff or buff certain powers anyway.
I am not sure it does need more evaluating for balance purposes, different effects do scale for all different ATs. If a controller had been given knockout blow the hold would last a lot longer and the damage would decrease and the power would cost the same in endurance.
For quality of life purposes i think IOs can change things for the better abit depending on how you slot and how your build is currently slotted could be better.

Well lets see before i could happily solo missions before now all i have to play on the lowest settings since it takes forever for me to kill anything. In teams i find myself being more of a defender just using my heals and buffs since my attacks suck now. As for PvP i cant even solo most other AT's since even though i can mez em to hell it dosnt really mean much when they can use a breakfree and laugh at my stupidly low damage output.
I have two hight level controllers. One is Ill/FF who has been slowed down a little but can still run through mission on invincible should I want to. +3 bosses take noticeably longer to kill but are still easy enough. In teams I'm not there to do damage but rather for damage mitigation and haven't noticed that much of a difference.
My other controller is mind/rad and hasn't moved from the Hive/Eden for months now so I can't really say what's changed.

Tanks, controllers, defenders and blasters are more suited for the team environment whereas scrappers are more suited for the soloing environment. It probably said so in the little instruction booklet in the box for the game. The controllers ability to solo and do damage is like the scrappers ability to be a as useful as the other sets survivability in a team.
My Mind/Emp has nothing to buff herself with except her heal aura which is meh and i am not into blasts cos it not what i wanted to see her do and i have no damage slots whatsoever. She is mainly made up of accuracy and recharge with a duration enhancement in a power that takes anything to 20 seconds if its base time is less. My absolute fave toon due to the powerful effect she has had on teams preventing what would otherwise be a teamwipe when people don't play to prevent them through forethought.
In teams the xp/time comes faster and if i need missions done i'll make the team inviting people who'd love to do them for the xp and if i don't like the dynamics of the team i still have the star (the worse they are the more useful i feel tho to an extent).
In PVP i just see team pvp as the only type worth getting into. Some sets have won already at the powerset selection screen compared to others. In teams you can all make up for eachothers weakness and buff eachothers strengths so much that hopefully when ya go at the opposite side you quite literally "give them nothing but take from them everything".

Sadly i agree, i loved having ice mastery for the great damage and slow from ice blast, now i just cant solo without Bob (my phantasm) but thankfully i still have Empathy.
My Controller's are fine. :P
I was wondering how everyone else was getting on with their high level controllers since the i8 nerfs. This is only really directed at those people who had controllers with epics before i8 as they will be the ones to remember before and after.
For those who are wondering what I am referring to I am talking about the halfing of the damage output of most controller epic powers.
I have found that I am still able to solo ok, I now run away a bit more, and it does take me a bit longer, not twice as long surely but definately longer to complete a mission. I no longer feel powerful, but can be useful in a team. I find that my role in a team is becoming more of a side line, teams no longer feel that they need a controller like many feel they need a tank or a healer, more often I am invited to fill a space, or to help out a bit. I feel remarkably fragile, even more so than I do on my blaster, maybe as my range is not as good, and some of my powers are actualy player based, so I need to be quite near to the action.
All of these things whilst making me sad aren't game breaking, the thing I feel needs changing is the endurance cost of the epic powers. They are now very expensive to use for the mediocre damage output they do. I still have stamina 6 slotted (yes I know about ED) and at the end of every fight all the other ATs will have almost full end bars, and I will generally have run out half way.
I think it is a bit off to be using 2 times as much endurance as the blaster power, with 2 times the recharge time for a power that does at best (with containment) the same damage, and these are their low level powers. I can live with the recharge and lower damage as long as the cost of the power is reduced as well.
Anyone else think this needs more evaluating on the part of the devs?
Just as an aside, I love my controller to bits, it has always been my main, and despite being 50 now for 15 months was until i8 my main character, getting more than 75% of my play time every week, just because I enjoyed playing her the most. Since i8 I have barely used her, not in protest but just because it has become less fun (unquantifiable I know) to play her. When I play my scrapper, or my storm defender I feel strong, my controller now feels a little more frangile.
