npcs in the PvP zones

Im getting very annoyed by all the npcs running around in the pvp zones, whole sirens for example is full of longbow mobs and patrols running around. I noticed really much now when my dominator is good enough to kill players there, and i really getting sick of the debt i get when im PvPing Im not saying they need to clear the zones so its no npcs there at all, but i not get the point why its so damn many npcs in zones either. Anyone else got problems with this or it just me?

I like having the NPC's there, but there do seem to be far too many in certain places. There also seem to be more longbow than arachnos, and arachnos have just the basic powers. Where are the bane spiders? or the nightwidows who spam smoke grenade? I was there last night when some heroes would run to the nearest group of longbow the second they got hit. Was fun confusing those longbow bosses :P

Higher levels and more bosses start appearing when there are more heroes and villains in the zone.

I think it's maybe because they're the invaders, so as it's our patch, Longbow have more resources - and I'm pretty sure that the Arachnos forces in Bloody Bay are stronger than the Longbow forces there, as the situation is reversed, and it's us who are invading their turf.

Are there any longbow or arachnos outside the bases in BB? I know there's always one on each side which manages to end up near the opposing factions base but I cant remember seeing any from either faction just wandering around like the longbow in SC. Lots of freaks and CoT though.

It's insane how many longbow are outside the base in Siren's call compared to Arachnos. In fact there is nowhere outside the base Arachnos spawn (Exculding hotspots), yet the top left half of the map is COVERED in longbow.

As a MM the chasers are the worst, burn patches D:

Having only arachnos there adds to the unique feel of that zone.

I've lost count on how many times my many villainous alts suddenly have dropped dead from the sky in Siren's Call, with only the message "Longbow Warden throws a Something at you for a gadzillion points of damage" clueing me in as to what just happened.

This post might be wrong, but here goes anyway.

I am pretty certain that NPCs (non-paying characters) are ppl that cannot be attacked by either side for example:- people running around scared in banks.

Where as longbow/Arachnos would constitute CPCs (computer played characters) that can attack/be attacked. In essence they aren't really NPCs at all, as they are involved in fighting battles.

If I'm wrong, I will hold my hand up!

Just found this extract on Wikipedia.

Enemies

Main article: Enemy groups in City of Heroes and City of Villains

In City of Heroes there are several NPC groups that players fight as part of "random" encounters. Many enemies are found on the streets of Paragon City, whereas others are found in specific instances or areas. There are also Giant Monsters and similar events that take place in parts of the city that are even rarer, such as Lusca the Giant Octopus in the waters of the Independence Port zone or the Ghost Ship that spawns ghostly enemies in the Talos Island zone as well as the Independence Port zone.

/e Hand raised
/e Bows down to ensueing Griefers

My question is then, are there 2 types of NPC?
Active (longbow/arachno's/freaks and so on) and Inactive (Citizens)

Terminology .. bah.

In the PVP zones there are anyway, computer controlled characters on either side which fight on the same side as the players. Be they NPCs or CPCs (NPC character is always controlled by computer anyway, since its a non-player). The longbow attack the villains and Arachnos attack the heroes in sirens call.

Ultimately, they are part of what constitutes the PVP zones to be 'dangerous' enough, so I guess we will have to tolerate the NPCs.

NPC means non playable character. So any character that isn't player controlled is an NPC. Where did you get CPC from or did you just make that up?

Arachnos should have ambushes randomly come out from doors etc to fight the longbow

From an Arachnos Flyer? That we could get badge for taking down?

[/ QUOTE ]

Sure why not. While your distracted targetting the flyer and ignoring the bane spiders. The glorious and brave destined ones can smite the vile and odious "hero's".

Although none of this is serious (too imbalancing), parachuting bane spiders out a flyer would look really neat. Maybe we could see it happen someplace else, like in mercy island over the start point haha!
