Illu Trollers Decieve.. good, bad or indifferent ?

Only thing wrong with it is its long activation which may make you want to use shorter activation powers..
[/ QUOTE ]
Since they removed the pause after casting, Deceive now has the same activation time as Blind.

I don't know the exact activation time but it was shortened recently and is a lot more user friendly in that respect now.

It's been shortened, but it still takes more time than blind+spectral wounds together
Right lets settle this..
Deceive is ace. Full stop. It is the best pvp power in the illusion set. Period. As anyone who has fought, and died against Hazel will tell you, the usual comment is, " that damned deceive!"
In fact, its always my opening attack in pvp, unless im facing an sr scrapper
Oh, yes, it is very effective and you can have so much fun with Deceive in PvP on top of that. People are suddenly quite cautious with anything AoE and setting bots to aggressive in RV is just asking for trouble.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

The thing is decieve is very defensive they way you use it. But you spend so much time using it, that you dont burn bfs.

I am not quite sure what you want to say...
All Confuse powers are very defensive in PvP unless you confuse a normally enemy-friendly NPC to attack your opponent as you can´t force human players to run up to their teammates and beat the snot out of them (although the occasional attack might hit before the confused player realises what is happening).
And I have absolutely no idea what the second sentence means... You spend much time using Deceive? Why? Because of it´s long duration and less people having protection against it it´s in most cases actually more time efficient than Blind. And why do you think not burning bfs is a bad thing? You sure want your enemy to burn bfs and that is even better with Deceive as you can even force most of those toons to use bfs who have hold protection and when someone is affected by holds and confuse powers the effect does not influence the rate of breakfree consumption. It´s the breakfree´s duration that matters... See, I just can´t make sense of the quoted sentences.

Hm spectral wounds does the same job allmost, with time to spam hold instead. But it really depends on what your fighting. Stuff with mes protection and having deceive is nice, cause you arent gonna stack over a tank with a tray full of BFs with blind and spectral terror. Against scrappers it can be done unless they run alot.
What it allways comes down to is what the hell you are fighting.
50s
controllers: Ill rad , grav rad, fire kin, ice kin
blaster: ice em
scrapper: spines sr
Theres a fair few of the mez protection powers that dont give protection to confuse. For instance invul tankers unyielding is susceptible to fear and confuse. You guys just meddle too much with clear mind to notice this

well, not for effectiveness, but there's nothing like watching a bunch of fire imps attack their own teams, especially if they can't see you.

All the ATs confuse powers are ridiculously powerful imo. They are effectively hold powers that increase your dps and get you free buffs and heals.
I've always picked up the confuse asap, 6-slotted it and used it very aggressively. Especially Seeds of Confusion, which is hands down one of the best powers in the entire game imo.
