EM stuns too great

Energy Melee is quite a pain for my Elec/Elec Brute too. It toggle-drops and stuns like there's no tomorrow, and seems to completely negate the knockback protection in Grounded.

again a totally pointless post by you, please try to contribute to the thread you made when you got bored of spamming "EM needs a nerf" on arena chat on union.
As for secondary effects they all do their job in the right hands, elecs drain can be a killer, ice can lock you down silly, fire is an AOE monster and /dev is packed with tricks. Seeing as what you are whining about is disorients which is in a MELEE power I really cant see your point (aside from looking for attention) its ONE status effect that is so easily countered its not even funny.
You are an experienced pvper and dispite all attempts to prove otherwise I dont think you are totally stupid so either pad this drivel out with a real post or stop.

To be fair, the biggest and best reason to go /Energy is the self buffs. Powerboost and Boost Range, and of course Conserve to a lesser extent.

In the OP's post and some of those replies, yes.
But I'm discussing the Blaster version right now.
I always consider balance and variety between sets important, therefore I'd like to discuss buffing of the other secondaries without stupid shut up drivel..

Ok let's put it like this then. Why should anyone pick any thing else then energy melee. When you can just hit build up. energy transfer, that will land a dissorient most times follow up by build up and total focus. Yeah you say melee attacks are easy to avoid. Well they aren't if you cant see them coming or if you wanna fight. Sure they're easy to avoid if you keep jumping and super speeding but when you attack you root so they can't be avoided. And going into the zones with a squishy with a fulltray of breakfrees they will get burned very fast since everyone is playing energy melee.
squishies aint supposed to be running around solo in the zones taking on tanks and brutes. find a team and enjoy the buffs. it wud be kinda stupid and it was stupid when a blaster cud stand toe to toe with a tank and usually win

I fail to see how this is an issue other than the fact that other Melee Sets aren't performing as proficiently.
I never really thought that EM was overpowered. Its the speed and power of Energy Transfer that usually gets me, but if your ready for it, its no big deal to escape the next hit. The long recharge reduces the amount of damage dealt in a certain amount of time and energy is resisted by alot of armour. I have an energy/energy brute with a few dam/mez and acc/mez slotted, its not a guaranteed win every time though.

if you are going to whine about burning bfs when someone is using em which is EASILY avoidable if you have half a brain, I recommend using /whoall and make sure that there are no controllers about, god forbid you have to use one of your insps

yeah the toggle dropping was nuts, my /inv brutde got deleted as I couldnt see a reason to play it in the zones...then toggle drops got nerfed...

Blaters are squishy and can take on brutes, not sure about tanks though.

Just a quick note about being 'perma held'. I do not think it is 'supposed' to be possible, but a dom in warburg recently proved me wrong...with domination up, he was able to perma hold me whilst his fire imps took me down from full health to death without me moving a muscle ( albeit I didnt have dull pain running, or IH for that matter...but it can be done )

with a bit of luck, a few reds here and there and a whole lot of defiance, it's not that hard...
Calling for nerfs on the basis that your always on the receiving end of X power is silly and follows the same pattern for many people who gets beat down in PvP threads like this shouldn't exist...

Just thought i'd point out to all the "Buffs not nerfs" that if EM is truely pounding Squishys as said, buffing up all the other secondaries to it's levels is gonna lead to some exccedingly unhappy squishies.
I wouldn't really know though, MM's don't really feel the pain off anything except AoE, and blissfully no one thinks to use that in Pvp

Defender attacks Mastermind with AoE
Killed a MM before with my Kin/Elec Defender. Just jumped in the middle of all the pets with Power Boost and Aim acive. Fulcrum Shift + Thunderous Blast = MM dead!

Just remove supression then. That way a control AT can kill before a status effect wears off too, just like blasters, scrappers, brutes.....

That isnt supposed to happen, unless he simply killed you super fast before the supression period got a chance to kick in. I would have asked him to help test it.
edit: or maybe different effects have different supressions. I seem to remember reading that you could hold someone then say.. stun them during supression. *races off to buy stun grenades*

Most of my toons are squishies and I've never had massive issues with EM Stun's.
Even Solo in the Zones, use BF's, a team with support (shock horror) and in Sirens, you can pick up strength of wills.

why dont we start threads about regens now, AS damage, repel powers, rad and a million other things already discussed to death. Whats next? Whining about taser as its a fast firing 100% stun, web grenade as it shuts down 2 travel powers? 3 if you dont have mez protections and/or combat jumping.
The upshot is EMs one of the few blaster powers that is balanced, high damage, long recharge, useful 2ndary effect, long animation. When looked into in context (and not in a uber buffed environment with support classes) its all it should be, high burst damage to reduce incoming damage. Its been acknowledged by the devs that the rest of the blaster 2ndaries need work and that was well over a year ago.
I dont beleive there is anything in this game now that is remotely close to being overpowered as A beats B, B beats C, C beats A truely exists now. Its just that a whole heap of 2ndaries need buffing significantly.

actually stun in all MMO's that ive seen is overdone, the only game however that ive seen trying to combat this now, is WoW with resilience, res to fear etc etc
that'd be nice in CoH, ye great all the above builds wont be able to stun as much perse(perce/per say typo etc)
but the amount of dmg coming from hide anyway is more than enough, coupled with BU.
shame fear/stun etc in games was added....
