I'll be the first to fly the flag for Dark/anything. Dark has a nice collection of heals, debuffs, slows, rezes and holds although some of the powers are situational. Dark/Dark does work well as the attacks debuff enemy accuracy as well. However, all you need to do is meet and enemy with Negative energy resistance and you're in trouble. I went for Dark/Elec as some robots are resistant to fear which is a big part of Dark/ but are weak to Electric.

Actually I see very few FF running around these days and hundreds of Kinetics.
I never see any kins, FFs, sonics or TAs. Most of the defender sets I see are empathy, dark, rad or storm and mostly they are on controllers. Most defenders are empathy on Defiant.
I've seen a few storm defenders in the hollows but few make it higher than 20 and the ones you see play them so conservatively, you wouldn't even know it was the defender that was using the storm powers if you didn't info them.
Hehe you should team with me sometime. People complain that they "can't see anything". Using storm powers conservatively? Nosiree, not me.

He means that this is not my experience of Defiant. There are far more Empathy 50's than any other defender primary, and perhaps a bias towards them, but a quick check of who was online today revealed more non-empaths than empaths.
The balance is redressing away from the Empathic flood.

Ah yes. I knew what you meant but your 'same Defiant' comment appeared to be a tad lost on samy.
As an aside, I'm also seeing a lot of non empath defenders on Defiant right now. I was in an 8 player team last night with my dark/dark and a kin/elec and had a great time.
I have to also admit not being able to enjoy playing my Empath these days (lev 29). I get far more enjoyment out of the other defender powersets.
No offence intended to other Empaths. Just my humble opinion.

For optimal communication quality I suggest saying what one means, not saying something else.
"Are you playing on the same Defiant?" has pejorative undertones and is not conducive to a positive atmosphere among our wonderful community. A simple, to the point, "My experiences on Defiant are different" is far clearer as to its meaning, and neutral in its language, without provoking confrontations.

The most team supporting defender set is sonic. On the other hand it is also pretty much depends on the team so it can be a rough on a bad team (it doesn't have many self defense powers and has a toggle that can potentially generate a lot of aggression towards you). Force fields is a bit easier to play with and has some very strong positional tools but lacks damage resistance decreasing powers.

The Dark and Kinetic sets go rather well together. I'll be on with Obsidian Star around 8PM and we can get a large team up and running.

I'm thinking of playing as a defender but I don't want to go down the emp or FF route. What other power combinations are considered as very supportive of teams? I want to be active but supportive if you see what I mean. That was why I posted the question about Dark/Dark as that seemed to fit the active/supportive idea.
