While I'm not even sure if I have a team here I didn't know there was an issue to download...got a pretty slow connection here, I would at least liked to watch...
-
Well I wouldn't mind, but whoever teams with me should give me a quick note on how the arena stuff usually works, what inspirations I need (I always fight inspirationless in the zones) and if I should get any special accolades before.
-
Nice that it actually still worked out in the end today. Was quite a late start in the end though. Still nice to have another shiny SHO enhancement and some fun in there.
-
A little update here: Already found a few people interested for today but still need a few more. I'm aiming for a start at around 5-6 so far. Still need a few more people mainly good brutes who can do damage and taunt and a another good regen debuffer (a rad would be awsome). If interested give me a /t @pythia in game.
-
Well doubt it'll work out today anyway bt let's check 3pm-ish, hehe...
-
Anyone interested for saturday or sunday at 13:00 ?
-
To make it short, seems to be nice so far, but get sleet, it really helps. Believe me you will want it, the first few levels feel a bit underpowered (not useless though, the shields and frostwork add something - usuall you only notice it when you don't use them and people die
). Sleet really helps, it's control and extra damage due to the -res.
-
While Rad/Psi is strong solo it's even better in team pvp, the unresisted -res powers defenders get are in another league compared to the controller -res stuff against highly resistant enemies (like granites for example). Actually I'm happy it's not quite like on the US servers here because their pvp seems to be gone to a leveling factory, it's just far from what I consider fun.
-
While Rad/Psi is probably quite a bit stronger my Rad/Rad defender still works fine in pvp (got no arena experience though - oh another advantage of psi is quite some good range on many attacks, rad is more close range, still with aim, power build up cosmic burst and total focus you can dish out some nice damage).
I just don't think that rad/psi fits thematically.
*edit: Oh forgot it you look for strong combinations though, rad/sonic is quite good too. -
The most team supporting defender set is sonic. On the other hand it is also pretty much depends on the team so it can be a rough on a bad team (it doesn't have many self defense powers and has a toggle that can potentially generate a lot of aggression towards you). Force fields is a bit easier to play with and has some very strong positional tools but lacks damage resistance decreasing powers.
-
Personally I consider Illusion to be quite bad control wise, it's good to absorb the alpha strike though. If you want the best control take earth/storm (radiation is close though).
-
I don't really like the arena concept but then I guess I have to give it a try some time (never fought in the arena), and an event like this seems to be a fun way to do it. I'd need a little bit of practice though so whoever wants to team up with me would have to show me around in the arena world (if anyone wants to after what I just said
.
Here's a short list of my level 50 characters I could use:
Rad/Rad Defender
Earth/Storm Controller
Ice/Cold Corruptor -
Seeing the general lack of responses I had so far and knowing how hard it can be to find enough capable players and corruptors I was thinking... maybe it would be a good idea to set up some in game channel for the strike force? It's often hard to easily make it known you want to run it at a certain time and hard to know who had level 50 villains if you just go by the in game search. I just created an in game channel named RSF in case anyone is interested in the idea and wants a chance to get invited to a recluse strike force even when on an alt.
-
Most people always said it's bad if I start late during the weekdays... but ok will try a later start again then... if it helps...
-
Yes, Mortana already contacted me a bit, I couldn't find more people though so no strike force
Yes Masterminds have their issues with damage dealing (the penalty of fighting +5 and +6 are just too big in game, hardly any damage left, and they are much harder to buff damage wise, only a kinetic or radiation corruptor can help really, other ATs can just use rage inspirations) but still their secondaries can be quite helpful (Mainly Dark, Force Fields and Poison).
The team set up is kind of important though in pick up strike force teams. If you don't know the players you have to be sure at least 2-3 of the players with the better sets know what they are doing. The only way I know is to invite enough of them (so like at least 4 buff/debuff sets). If you know the players are good, or got the choice of whom to invite to your team you can make a successful run with fewer people. I've once organized a run with a pretty nice combination of powersets but in the end it failed because hardly anyone knew how to use them.
*edit: Oh forgot, if anyone is doing this strike force and need another Ice/cold corruptor, feel free to contract me. (/t @pythia) -
I'm not using my corruptor much these days, and no one looks at a low level search comment if you want to do the strike force.
It's kind of sad that so many people only do the strike force with their villain groups. Still... I'll keep on trying to set one up here, hope it'll work out one day or another.
If people are interested today, I'd aim at a 18:00-19:00 start. Maybe I'll find more people today. -
I'm doing positron now pretty soon, if enough people are still interested in the evening I'd always be up for it, I just don't see too many people who want to join.
-
What I can say personally, don't drop the shields, they add more than you think, and the other 2 area attacks are so strong you can easily skip frost breath without having to think too much.
-
Yes those defenders should be slapped really hard...
Really, it doesn't depend on if you are a defender or a corruptor you should be pretty much doing the same thing with those 2 sets. The defender is probably more effective overall since you can easily close the damage gap to the corruptor with the better buffs/resistance debuffs. -
Not many people interested in this strike force these days it seems.
-
Hope I can still find some more people to join up. By the way in the last mission 50s are much more useful than 49s (or even worse 48s you can't sidekick up) due to the huge penalties against +5s
-
Masterminds and corruptors are pretty similar really, and yes reds help a lot. Well if enough people are interested I so far plan on starting it sunday at 11:00. I do want a few corruptors/masterminds with ok sets though.
-
Since I haven't done any RSF run for weeks I thought I could try to organize one again. Maybe today in the evening? Or during the weekend in the morning? How is it looking, anyone interested?
-
I think Recluse's Victory shows how NOT to do it. There are huge experience and prestigue rewards --> lots of farming --> lots of complaining if you attack them --> people with bad attitudes --> almost no (good) PvP
-
I would have helped with the holds and stuff but my graphics card stopped working saturday evening with no hopes of a replacement...
