ill/Kin controller
Hello mate. For now I can describe the powers for you and maybe later I'll post my build in here.
Illusion
Spectral Wounds and Blind - These are your direct attacks. Spectral Wounds does good damage and Blind is a single target hold (wich offers some damage aswell). Usually it's better to hold the foe first with Blind and then attack with Spectral Wounds (so you'll inflict double damage).
Deceive
You confuse a single foe, making him attack his own partners. I don't have it in my build but it is useful. You can use it to take some annoying bastards out of battle. I loved to use it against Field Generators (the shield would protect you and ur mates) and Sappers (the git would drain the end of his partners).
Flash
Your AoE hold. I must say, at higher lvls I don't use it that often. But pick it anyway. It makes things much easier.
Superior vs Group Invisibility
I've picked Group Invisibility at low lvls. It's good to skip some annoying foes or stealth missions. Later on I respeced it off and picked Superior Invisibility + Recall Friend. It's up to you really.
Phantom Army
Here is one of the reasons why many people go to Illusion. You can summon 3 uber phantoms that can't be killed. I use it to start a battle. I send the phantoms into the mob and let them take the aggro. Some people slot it with accuracy,damage and recharge. I can't remember my slots right now.. but I think its 1Acc,2Dmg,3Rech. I'm considering to respec and change it to 3Rech only.
Spectral Terror
AoE fear. I can't remember any foes who can resist fear. It is a good power but not a must have.
Phantasm
The Holy Grail of the set. I love this *******. Pick it. Slot it. Love it.
Kinetics
Tansfusion
Great AE heal. You need to hit a foe to make it work tho. So 2Acc + 3Heal + 1 Rech should be the best slotting.
Siphon Power
It offers +20% dmg to you and your team while weakening target's strenght. Pick it at low lvls. You probably will end up respecing it off after getting Fulcrum Shift.
Repel
A PBAoE knockback (yes it is knockback. the name can be deceiving - blame the Devs). Probably the most serious players wouldn't pick it. It drains your End per foe hit and usually Tankers and Scrappers hate this power. I'm not a serious player, I'd rather have some fun. It is useful. You can take a boss (of any lvl) out of battle by knocking im back against a wall for example.
Siphon Speed & Inertial Reduction
I lov'em both. Siphon Speed gives you temporary super-speed and +20% recharge while slowing down the target (yea you need to hit a target to make it work). Inertial Reduction its similar to Super Jump (also temporary but no need of a foe to make it work). You can easily skip a travel power if you pick these powers.
Increase Density
I don't have it. It makes a Hero resistant to Disoriend, Hold, Immobilize and Knockback while slowing him down a bit. It also adds some resistance to Energy and Smash dmg.
Speed Boost
One of the main reasons that will get you manymanymanymany team invites. SB PLS! It is just uber.. It adds speed, end recovery and faster recharge to your allies. Pick it and slot it with 3EndModification SOs.
Transference & Fulcrum Shift
These two powers are just.. UBER! With 3EndMod SO's tou can fill up all your end bar (k k.. maybe 90% of it). There are several ways of slotting it. 2Acc3EndMod1Rech is how I slotted it. Some ppl slot it with 1Acc2EndMod3Rech so they can have the power available faster. And the last power... The one! The only! Fulcrum Shift! It's awesome. It can add you and your mates a 300% (I guess this is the right number). 1 or 2Acc and 3Recharge will do it.

Nemesis have very high res against it so you won't fear em unless you have some patience..its not a must have but its still one of your better control powers so would take it..

SP is great for debuffing 2..never respec it out..
Yes it is a nice debuff but thats why there are Rads and Darks around We do a pretty good joob with Tranafusion, Speed Boost, Siphon Speed, Transference and FS alrdy. Probably he can pick some other power like hasten/leadership. That's just my opinion tho

Slight Hijack - what would people recommend as pool powers for an ilu/kin?
Right now I'm taking stamina (only 20 atm) and leaping with SJ with a view to respecing once IR and transfusion are available, but not sure what to replace them with.
My partner is a grav/kin, and I've noticed from him that with just transfusion he sometimes has endurance issues with leadership toggles running, is stamina worth keeping after all?
Even with Transference I think Stamina is a must. Specially if you got toggles like leadership.

For a defender, never respec it out, but for a controller I'd say it is optional. After all in the situations where my defender would be debuffing with SP, a controller would probably be better off using his control powers. My defender rarely has time for his attacks so I imagine SP would be left lonely and untouched in the power tray if they was something better to spam.
This is for the same reason that last night I wasn't suprised when I was teamed with a /kin controller without Speed Boost. It is one of the best powers in the game but it is one of the most annoying to have.

I still have SP on my fire/kin, but mainly use it to stack it on AVs. Won't be dropping it since I don't really need anything else.

Stamina is not a must after you get transferance but it's mighty nice to have. You will constantly be watching your end bar if you go without....but it's relatively easy to manange.

Have to agree here, a well slotted transference (Mine for a PvP Build is 2 acc/2 end recov/2 recharge and there's NEVER a moment without it recharging, fire it off at every point and you can carry on for frigging ages. Even when I have 3 toggles running.
Really, before you get transference, you can get stamina, but stamina itself becomes redundant.
Some great things I've found for PvE and PvP:
MUST ALWAYS USE POWERS AT EVERY FRIGGING OPPORTUNITY
Transference. Siphon Speed, Fulcrum Shift, Spectral Terror, Hasten, Blind, Spectral Wounds, Phantasm
Seriously, if any of the above powers have recharged, get into the best position to fire them off. If neccessary, dismiss your phantasm and resummon it in order to get the best fulcrum shiftage from it. Always remember to Speed Boost your pet to maximise its DPS! Take advantage of ID as well to free the pet. And buff buff buff your way through, you'll be speedy.
REPEL:
Useful at early levels, but really, as most of the best abilities (Fulcrum Shift, Transfusion, Transference) give bonuses within a close range to your enemy targets... Why would you REALLY want to knock them away? Especially if they're in a funky line for your phantasm to plough through, useful to pick up early.
Being an ill/kin what keeps me best alive are speed - awesome healing - WTFPWNZ end recovery - Uber damage buffs for me and teammates.
Also pick up Speed Boost and Increase Density - but only use them when your pet needs it and/or your team requests their use, it's very hard and time consuming and TBH a waste of time keeping a team of 8 perma-SB'd
Superior Vs Group invis
Right slotting, Group Invis can be sorta perma. Superior invis better if you plan on soloing lots, but I love group invis anyways.
Phantom Army
Must have, send these lot in first to every fight to soak up the alpha strike.
Flash
An ok group hold, if you ignore the ACC penalty, worth slotting if you're going to PvE LOADS - for PvP, generally useless. As you'll pick on one target at a time with a great Blind/Spectral Wounds/Air Superiority/Psionic Tornado combo to send them flying about nicely.
Did I mention flight is a good power pool choice? If you're going to be doing my route of playing an ill/kin and trying to maintain a triple-stacked siphon speed all the time, you'll need hover (and hasten). Get into the practice of whenever Transference is ready of selecting the nearest enemy (or convenient enemy) hitting F and then letting the power go. Unlike running, it's very hard to miss your mark, plus you can do some real crazy stuff with insanely-fast-hovering! It's great! Love ittttttttt....

EDIT: I forgot the beauty that is confuse, a bit dud in PvE because of the wealth of pseudo-control powers you have that are AoE. (Ill is very controlling, AoE hold, AoE fear, A triple team of tankers to summon, lots of aggro redirection as opposed to outright holding.) it can be fun to slim down a very large mob when soloing. But its real beauty is in PvP!
My ill/kin lived in superior invisibility so I needed stamina. If transference missed I found myself in end trouble occasionally, even with stamina.

Agreed, my Kin/Rad Def doesn't have it, although I do get the Inherent End reduction with a Def, but I'd say with hasten and Siphon Speed spammed at every opportunity with decent slotting in Transference it's not really required. useful, but not required.

I'm inclined to say you can hold a very solid build without needing stamina at all, there are more useful powers to take than hurdle/health et al.
I would discourage you from skipping Stamina, especially when levelling; remember that Transference only comes at 35 and kin is an extremely active set. Although I see the problem for an ill/kin, since you do want (need) to take most of the primary powers (while a fire/ can skip quite a few). I've kept Stamina on my fire/kin since I want to make sure I can use all my powers (which recharge quickly with Hasten + SS) without having to spam Transference on every other mob (and I run Tactics). And if you ever change your mind about PvP, you'd better have Stamina (and Hurdle/Swift will help).

I'd never skip stamina on this build since you have lots of stuff to do and the endurance is never enough, even with Transference.
I managed to pick anything bar Group Invis, Fulcrum and Repel on my build along with 2 travel power, Stamina and 3 epics.
The build is REALLY thight but can be done.

You could go for sup invis instead of group invis if you want....if so then just replace the recharges with end reds.

TBH guys - I work fine without stamina and 3 toggles running. But whatever you feel is neccessary. (extra slots put into end redux FTW)

For a pure PvP build, Fulcrum is certainly skippable.

Stacking both fullcrum+siphon power is godsent..don't skip it..in team pvp you screw people up pretty badly..
This is a no travel power PvE build I respecced my controller into at around level 40. It worked very well for me, both solo and on teams.

It's true you could go with IR instead but I really really hate being knocked back/down....especially as a /kin
If you believe that CJ and Acrobatics isn't useful powers...well..thats just another thing we don't agree on.

im a noob to controllers, all i know is that illusion and kinetics are great when i team with a controller that possesses them, im looking for a good PvE build, never been big fan of PvP (except when i stumbled over my brute) any suggestions that would help me?
