Unlimited HO's On Test?
yes, it definately does work just takes a little time
If time is the factor, surely the answer is getting a group of us together with 10 HO's?
Also, you can copy the same character over to test more than once can't you and they just get numbered?
- D-Zol takes 10 HO's off people in his tray.
- They go off and do what they want for an hour or so
- I copy D-Zol to test 12 times
- Log each of the 12 on and give HO to someone on test to dump in an enhancement bin in a base
- Delete all 12 and re-copy 12 times
- Get bored, log back a on live and slot those 10 HO's people are expecting me to give back to them on D-Zol
After the initial meet up to get the 10 HO's in a tray, you're looking at maybe 20 minutes tops to log on all 12 and dump them in the base and only need 2 people to do it. That's 120 HO's available to Union players taking part in arena night for 20 minutes work. If we rustle up 20 HO's and get a third to hold them, thats 480 in 40 minutes with two runs.
Do that once a week/fortnight for a little while and you've pretty much got any of the Union regulars fully kitted out on HO's for very little effort.
The Defiant players will be able to do this even better they will have more types of Hami-o's to do it with as well as be able to save on quite alot of slots in their pve build. Soon all Defiant players will "pwnz jo0!!!!111!!1"
If it could be done. i would be farming hamidon everynight on union and do it for an entire month, the amount of slots i'd save on would be amazing.
golgo eposure 33%end 33%heal would do on my heals but only save on endurance
ribosome exposure 33%end 20% dam res would save me putting any endurance slots on my armours and free them up for anything allowable but missing in my attacks
enzyme exposure 33%end 33 def debuff 33% tohit debuff would free up slots from my debuffer to have more in the attack slots
membrane exposure 20% defbuff 33%rechg red 33% tohit debuff i could have 3 slotted elude with 3 of them instead of 6 cant i? more slots elsewhere!
microfilament exposure 33% endred 33%jump 33% flight 33% run = more slots elsewhere and not so much in travel powers
cytoskeleton exposure 33%tohit 33%end red 20%def buff.
I think it will be harder to find people with spare hami's in their tray of all types willing to goto test server so many times on union than on defiant.

Err there are only a very limited number of different types of HO's available so how will Defiant have more types than Union given each Hami raid sees 100+ HO's appear?

Thankfully, that sort of thing doesn't appeal to most of us on Union as I can think of no bigger waste of my time than farming the lagfest that is Hami on a weekly basis
Oh, the thread's about Hami-O's...aww...not what I was looking for.
It'll work, I remember this came up in S4 though and Bridger said they'd be keeping an eye out for suspicious fully slotted characters so they could make them copy over a normal version.I guess it'll work for just regular vs. Defiant stuff but it seems kinda sleazy if you ask me.

yes but how many people do you know with all the types sitting in their slots, willing to pass them over to test?
Defiant people would probably outgun union on this one.

It actually could get quicker and quicker each time. To a point where people dont need all that preperation time to get in get organised and get on with it. Quite alot of the time is spent fannying about if anything.
What i will say though is this, even if you know people with hami-o's in their build next time they respec they could leave the HO's out of their build and keep them in their trays to do the trick. I personally dont think i know anyone personally who hasnt slotted their HO already but by respecin, leaving the power slots empty and having any HO's in the tray for transfer i can see a result.
Any pvp wins on test server would be tainted without properly earnt slotting for me anyway but it could be defianteers are already doing this but i cant say they are.

Well, now that im back and hooked on CoH again, i was kind of hoping to relive the hamidon memories, with another raid some time. Im too rusty to remember the technique, and I know the methods have moved on. However, lag aside, the raid was fun, so if someone organises it, i will be there!
Once a month would be fine? On farm status i think he could be downed in an hour and a half or something (including forming up... )
I should never have voiced my idea in the beginning.. So far I have played with perfect normal copies or their respecced versions myself.

Err, have you read the method? We only need one person to go over to test and one to take the HO's. All the others need to do is 'loan' the mule their unslotted HO for an hour or so.
As for unslotted ones, I've got 2 on my tank and 1 on my scrapper, all different and we have a raid coming up so can easily do it the weekend after that.
Personally, I don't PvP with a hero on the test nights so have no interest in HO's whatsoever. This idea has been prompted purely as a consideration of the Defiant HO farming.

Totally understand that Jersey but there's a reason HO's are not a problem in Europe like they are in the US. Hamidon has never been farmed over here so it's very rare to find someone with more than 1 or 2.
Now that this is happening on Defiant on a weekly basis, there are PvP'ers on there with 4 already(more if they had some from post farming raids) and it is now going to be a problem on the test night. Last thing we want is these becoming one sided just becuase Union have no interest in getting huge groups together once a week to farm the lagfest that is Hami.
That leaves any Union players taking part in the test nights with 3 choices
- Use the copy over method
- Be prepared to fight Defiant teams at a disadvantage
- Farm Hamidon on a weekly basis
Personally, I would hate to see the third method take place and the second is unfair. Copying over HO's is not unfair as Defiant can do this themselves if they wish.

Are you seriously suggesting that 150+ people are doing this so that the not-quite-a-full-team from Defiant that doesn't even turn up every week can have more HOs for the test server PvP?

I definately do it for fun, everything I do in this game is for fun, otherwise I wouldn't play it.
Oh, and as for the fortnightly raids, it helps new players get HO's and introduce them to Hami, and we get to see if we can beat our fastest time!

We do it every two weeks, and I haven't even slotted half the HOs I've picked up. The most any of us have is (iirc) around 6, which really doesn't make that much difference.

It's not exactly farming, since I intend to stop leading the raids the moment it stops being fun and starts being a grind. As I said, we don't actually have that many HOs.

And (OH NOEZ!) the 6 or so that we have from Defiant is going to make an absolutely HUGE imbalance between the teams. Honestly, Union and Vigilance should just give up now since we have so many.

How hard is this, really? You just have to know enough people to be able to have a leader, a tank team (2 or more empaths and a tank)and a PA drop team leader (1 illusion controller).

Except that we don't.
Hell, if anyone should be complaining, it should be us as one of the Union teams uses a US transferred scrapper who is fully slotted with HOs. However, we don't. You know why? We know we have the skill to beat him, HOs or not as they don't actually make that much of a difference.
This really won't unbalance monday night PvP any more than Stalk-obot showing up with Spyka does. Besides which, Kinslayer, why should you care? You don't even come to the monday night matches!
to be fair defiant havent fielded an actual team for monday nights in ages and have only done so once or twice, we usually team up together against vigilance these days anyway
erm Kin?? What are you on about??
First off...we're not farming it (guess it can viewed as such since we've been succesful each time since Xanthus took over leadership of the raids).
As WarEngine said we've been doing raids once a month and have now begun fortnightly raids, as we believe it's fun and a big social thing on Defiant.
As I can read from your posts you don't feel it's fair if people has more earned Hami Os than you and thus feel the need to actually cheat by copying over the same Hami Os over and over again?
If you feel the need to do this then please do but I personnally disapprove of cheating and as a Defiant PvPer I can safely say we've never done this and never intend to do so.

With Defiant now farming Hamidon on a regular basis, it's only a matter of time before this has a knock on effect for the arena nights on there with them having a big advantage.

My tank, D-Zol, still has a HO sitting in his tray that I've not slotted so here's the idea.
- Copy D-Zol to test
- Give the HO to someone else on test
- Delete D-Zol from test
- Repeat above three steps
Anyone know if that will work?
I'm going to test it tonight and, if it does work, we could get peoples arena builds fully kitted out on HO's with a bit of cooperation. Next Hami raid, we get a load of us to meet up a couple of days after, before slotting the HO's. 10 of us give HO's to one toon and copy him across, he dishes out the 10 and we repeat as necessary before the toon gives the HO's back on live after everyone's kitted out.
We could even make use of the new enhancement storage devices to build up a stockpile.

I know its huge numbers of people but practise does make perfect dont it, i have done +3 AVs before with no deaths. If you had say lvl 53 mother mayhem waiting for you 3 missions in a row each time with the same team you could do it better and better, quicker and quicker.
An hour and a half dont sound like alot in one evening, and you could leave the same toon there for the next night and get straight into it what if we did hamidon just one night of every week for one week? thats 7 hami-o's.
Im an all in kind of person i know but with the recharge times of powers i have no problems doing what i do and watch a film.

Oh, and as for HO Farming? If you do that, you've just lost a lot of respect in my eyes. Yes, they're usefull. And yes, I'd want a lot more in my build. But I certainly won't dupe them simply to 'win'.
Elerith on Test has less Hami-O's than Elerith on Live. I may update her in a few raids, and I need to tweak her build too. But I sure as hell wouldn't max out on HO's 'FOR TEH WINZ0RZ'. For a start, it's exactly why HO's were nerfed in the first place from 50% bonus, to SO levels.

We 8man'd the first night, and one or two times after that. And we Pentad'd every Pentad night from when they started.
And my comment about whining was made in haste, for the most part the people that turned up were all great. Just in my opinion some people where taking it a tad too seriously, we played for fun and when people start arguing about whether or not Tactic A was 'fair' or not kinda takes the fun out. In my opinion, if a tactic stops an entire team in one fight, I'll think about it and come back the week after with a counter. Not complain because we couldn't do anything about it.
And yes, we disliked (and still do) the toggle knock changes because, in practice, they're too far. At least in our opinion, but it's not why we 'left'.
Hami-O's alone will not turn a bad player into a good player. They only give a slight increase in how good your powers are. A good player with a good build won't necessarily get beaten by a good player with a good build and Hami-O's. Theres different ATs and how the player uses them. The map makes a difference and who you are teamed with. Hami-O's should just be left as a trophy rather than something to farm and be a 'commodity'. Defiant are very good as a 80+ Hero team. My hat is off to them.
