Militia Thursdays
Although I agree in principle, I can forsee future sessions where members of the team are at vastly different levels depending on how much time people have to play. And although we may be able to get around it with exemplaring and sidekicking, it may prove troublesome in the future.
I'm open to people's opinion on this but I can understand the rationale for restricting time to Thursdays only. (But trust me, I'm itching to get started...!)
(btw, great avatar...)

If you look back to page 9 you will see guidlines for choosing an AT as I am trying to maintain some kind of balance.
Once you have chosen your AT please post your choice here so I can up-date the list. Then post a bio on The Militia thread. Some of the bios are very detailed but don't feel as though you have to do that much.
Our first session will be this week(Thursday 7pm ish under the statue of the female crime fighter reaching for the stars--Atlas Park. The details of when and where are in the first post of this thread. Things like team numbers have changed since then so use the info on page 9 for guidance in that area. Sorry if it's a bit on the confusing side but it's been a long road
ALL CHARACTERS MUST BE AT ZERO XP AT START AND CAN ONLY BE USED ON THE THURSDAY SESSION.
I'll assume we are up to 12 members now; 4 places left.
Battlefalg
Pious
I see your point completely but this is a fixed session to avoid massive differences in level--that's what would happen. I want us to share the experience of increasing powers together and at an equal pace. Anyone who isn't enjoying it, who knows, maybe I won't, can leave. It's not as if you can't play other characetrs when you want and how you want.
I'm drafting an idea to post that's all about getting IC players together but without time or level restrictions. Thinking back, that was my intention to begin with but the details of the Thursday session took over.
Battleflag
A small answer to the difference-in-levels problem if we decide on 'allowing' use of the character outside of the allotted time, may be to say "Okay, level if you want to, but go no higher than level X for this week"
This way, people can still play their characters, but be within a reasonable level range for the rest of the group.
Now that's a good idea Max, well done! We could set an allowance of one or two levels a week or something like that. We'll see what other members have to say and if everyone(or the majority) like the idea we'll go with it. What do you think Militia? I think it gives people the freedom they've been looking for without destroying the original idea. I imagine nearly everyone will use whatever the lev allowance is so we should stay roughly the same anyway.
Another idea to try to make organisation and contact easier is for everyone to put Militia in their team search comment; at least on the night but maybe all of the time. It would make teaming up out of hours easier.
Replies please

Ah cool, wicked. So we could say week one should take the group up to level six. week two up to level ten. week three up to level twelve. week four up to level fourteen.. etc etc.. and still have Thursdays as the main grouping. Yes, I like this idea. Can't wait to get started now.
Hey Max, if you'll be Force Fields, I'm gonna change Dragonfly from Dark Armour to Super Reflexes.. i7 ftw!
Edit: Battleflag, the supergroup window will list us all for contacting anyway, wouldn't it?
Pious
I'm not sure about how many levs but I don't think your idea sounds bad. I imagine by the end of Thursday we should all be at least lev, 3 maybe 4, so two levs for the rest of the week seems reasonable. Week two will probably see us jump two levs in the session, so that leaves three levs for the rest of the week. As you've outlined, this will slow down as we climb.
What does everyone think of this kind of time scale?
Battleflag
So do you mean a slower progression than the one we were just discussing? I don't know what you class as speed levelling.
Battleflag
[ QUOTE ]
level-crunching or speed-leveling definately isn't lvl 6, then 10, then 12, then 14. level-crunching would be more like concentrating time and effort on hitting lvl 30 in a week's worth of play or lvl 20 in precisely two days.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, I can't even imagine levelling at that speed. It sounds more like hard work than fun. And how would you do it, I mean lev 20 in two days!?!?
Battleflag
Cool 4 spaces eh?, well we seem to hav elots of offensive already, so i go for either a tank or defender. You guys choose which one you think i should go for, mind you im not goin for a empath, im making a debuff defender.
I've counted you and Cognito as already in Blitz, so that means there are four places left after you. As for your AT, that's up to you as long as you use the guidelines. Personally, I think a tank always comes in handy.
Battleflag
You'll be surprised hour much experience points you can cash in when you and the other six players simply go NUTS, guns BLAZING, evil LAUGHS and glowing eyes.. yes, i speak of THE GANG.
Tactically, next to no deaths, non-stop Vicious missions, good leadership (as in choosing next missions quickly and making casual conversations while gunning-up trolls like ca-razy) gets a villain/hero leveling up fast.
And of course, you must be have 48 hours free.. not that you'll use all 48 hours gaming.. gotta eat and sleep right? .. right?
I must say that when I've been in a motivated team with good leadership it's surprising how much exp I've recieved. Having said that, your style of gaming would probably have my head exploding, 3 hours is about my maximum session time. Oh you're a tough one Pious!
Battleflag
Hmm im undecide at the moment, with what AT i should choose as i have 2 ic alts im toying with, one is blitz himself, which is i think best for ic, buthe is a T.A defender... and i was saving him for the i7 updates so he would be alot better in terms of powers ( arrows) strenght with the i7 upgrades. But if you guys don't mind having a i6 T.A defender in your group for now ( at the rate we will be lvling , ill get my powers affected by i7 wen its out, i'd really like to use him. No prob using the tank if we need it more tho.
Blitz
It's up to you mate; as far as the details of I7 are concerned I'm not too bothered. It's more to do with being happy with the concept/characetr for me. If we're in decent sized teams that work together we should do pretty well regardless.
Battleflag
That's a genius idea. It means that we can still remain active outside of the team but stay within reasonable levels of each other. Although I reckon we should all start on Thursday with 0 xp, just to get us off to a good start.
As for powerlevelling, I agree that if you get a good team, the xp can fly by. Sadly, these seem few and far between these days. I'm hoping our team will be a nice blend of both, good xp but with a bit of time for chat and roleplay.

I agree, Max has had the idea that will make this work I'm sure. Your comment about EXP was a good one and I'll reinforce it:
WE ALL STILL START WITH ZERO EXP!
Judging by the intelligent responses I've had I expect our teams to be very effective and in role
Battleflag
Hothead, Dante and Max, I've just read your bios, great stuff. We're getting a really ineresting mix of characters here, from the solid depnedables to the semi-crazies. Just as it should be.
Battleflag
Great to see your bio up Blitz, he seems like a dependable type. A defender I assume?
Battleflag
Defender spot please yes
So.. is the Militia is back to an eight-man two-hour per week supergroup? .. If so..
Wouldn't meeting outside those two hours be boring? With so many offline, there'll be few to interact with.
Two hours per week? I foresee very slow progress in character development. People may loose interest.
Of course, the Militia is not my experiment, but I hope you dont mind me the following suggestions...
Totally disregard them if they conflict with your actual plans.
Roleplayer makes an in-character hero for the SG. (Mine being Dragonfly)
Roleplayer logs in at any time, should he find other members on missions, he runs to their aid.
But have 7pm Thursdays (as well as Mondays) be the main grouping session.
No further restrictions. Not levels, not architype.
