But Dante, you sound so... cryptic...

*Starts thinking about conspiracy theories and slowly drifts away while mumbling something about zombies, game-manufacturers, u.f.o's and shrimps.*

Well, I try to be mysterious but often end up coming across as just vague…

*ahem!*

Anyway, if anyone is interested, I will be around for most of the weekend (while the cat’s away etc…) so if anyone needs a hand levelling their alts or even their primaries drop me a line (PM or in game on @Dante ). If we have got the TF out of the way by then I may look at doing cape/costume missions unless we want to hang on until next week. I may even be up for doing another TF as I’ll have the time to spare.

Do we have any idea what might be happening on Thursday yet? I know we’re down a few members but I will still be around and looking for fun.

Who is currently running this SG? I mean... who's in charge of things?

I'm asking because apperantly some people (atleast one) has caught on my idea of listing RP SG's on the forum as a complement to our list of roleplayers. so I figured the leader of the SG should be the one posting our info on the list as he/she will probably be able to give the most accurate info.

Concearning game time I am free thursday as always and also saturday is available. My wife is going to the movies with her siblings and that means my kid can entertain himself infront of the wifes computer giving me time to entertain Myself infront of my computer. I think you are running it Derek!

I don't think there's ever been an official leader since Battleflag departed. Derek seems to be doing ok so I'm happy to let him get on with it really. I can back up if we need it.

Hey guys, you're making me blush (oh what a girly thing to say but what the hey)

Alright, I'll post our details in the RP-SG thread. Also I'd like to take another turn in reminding everyone who hasn't signed up on our own forum http://cohmilitia.suddenlaunch3.com to do so and post a bio or whatever, just to get the forum a bit more active. I've posted a screeny of my militia uniform suggestion recently if we are still on that issue.

Are we getting anywhere with the TF issue btw?

Posted

Well I think it's going to come down to two options:

1) All those active in the TF quit and have another go when we have the time to spare.

2) We find a time to finish it off.

I suggest option 1 simply because we're pretty disparate right now and we need to get back to all teaming together. However, I understand if people feel that this will ruin the TF along with losing all the XP goodness for completing it. I will be around on Thursday for a bit and most of the weekend if people want to finish it otherwise I can't see when it's going to get done.

P.S. I know a lot of people have RL issues at the moment, they happen to me too so no great shakes.

Another quick thing.... wouldn't it be best to point all the new "recruits" in the direction of our brand new forum. I mean, we have it so why not use it to the fullest?

This said because I'm writing the RP-SG-list reply now so I wanted some quick feed-back on my thought.

Yeah, Derek can list The Militia. No problem.

Leaders of the Militia.. well.. I dunno. Capt. America leads the Avengers, Superman leads the Justice League (I think) but who leads the X-men.. I think the Militia's structure should be like the X-men 'cos on the battle ground Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm and Wolverine kind-of discuss and agree tactics as opposed to barking orders and calling the shots like Capt. America does.

When teamed, I think Meriam, Sabrina, FC, Mer'de and often a few others kinda make suggestions on tactics and the group agrees or disagrees right?

I like it that way. The only leader should be the 'Minister' who's never present on missions. Same way Prof. X is rarely present on missions.. more often he briefs the team.. oh, and Charlie's Angels is another team with this structure. Team leader briefs them on missions and allows the 'team' to sort things out.

I think thats pretty cool.

Okay next topic.. the TF. I agree that due to RL issues, absences is messing up completion. I'm working throughout this week and can only ever play at my friends place.. I suggest the team attempt completion of the final mission this thursday (when most people are online) and if there isn't enough firepower to defeat the King, quit it and let us move on. lol.

About costumes, X-men have a group colour theme with emblem right? The big X and the gold/black motif.. I think that'd work for us too. Earlier I suggested an all-black colour scheme with a white-outline M as the SG emblem. Having said that, those who would wear spandex like Cyclops, Storm etc. could wear the glossy black tights, with add-on personal features.. *shrugs*

Also, about my Paragon TV crew idea.. basically, anyone who knows how to use the /demorecord command record small clips of our missions and I'll edit out some exciting 5-minute movies every week.. complete with comic-book style story-text to link in-game plots.

Lastly, speaking of plots, I know we're currently working along individual story-arcs, so when all that is done, how about a pre-planned Militia story-arc one which can deeply involve us all and spark up some action-reaction forum and in-game roleplay.

I mean, for example.. Sabrina gets the Militia into trouble with the law and suddenly th eentire supergroup project is under arrest, our security clearance and hero regisration are revoked, blah blah blah.. and somehow, we manage to clear our name.. MAYBE (with the help of the up-and-coming RPSG-list) a second (Roleplay) group of heroes comes to our aid blah blah blah. Should be fun hey? And afterwards, the city throws a big party to celebrate the release of one of the world's greatest group of law enforcers.. the Militia. then we could have a big party near GG or somink.

I'll keep an eye on this thread wherever I get a chance to surf the net, meanwhile, see you guys next thursday!

PS. Derek, I'm still working on Dragonfly and Mer'de's bios for our spanking new Forum.

This'd be especially interesting when everyone finds out the Portent doesn't have a hero license and is wanted by the police on numerous counts of corporate sabotage...
For me, roleplay is all about storytelling. The more plots and intrigue, as far as I'm concerned, the better.

Being on camera sounds interesting, as long as we get a warning so we can keep OOC speech to a minimum.

As for team leaders, FC seems to do a good job; he's good at it and it fits his character. For an overall leader... I dunno, we still technically have Agent Tremeur (I think) to do the administrative stuff.

And for the TF... I should be around tomorrow as usual. I'd rather not abandon it, but after what it did to the last meeting we may have no alternative.

Knights Exemplar: Wolfram, Autumnfox, Starlit Spirit.
Militia: The Portent, Wavekite, Mr. Sandman.
The Cadre: WarpLocke, Zajin.
Numerous others.

Only got a couple of seconds, I'll put in a longer reply tomorrow.

Briefly, yes, would be great to finish the TF, let's try for tomorrow say 7? If we can get it done early, we can RP with the rest of the team at last (yay!).

I'm all for longer story arcs, I think we could have a thread on our website that details possible stories for development.

I like the team play, so no overall leader is needed but certain members take the helm when it's needed. FC in the TF was superb when we were getting creamed!

So all good really.

With just a little bit of luck, I might be able to make it tonight at 7 after all - so, I hope very much to be there for the final TF-push

Good news Derek. I finally got bios for Mer'de and 'Dragonfly done. Gonna log onto our forums now.

Ok, so all in for tonight at 7? Great.

Just to mention, there will be a new joiner coming to the statue at 7:30. If anyone who is not on the TF could go and greet them, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well done guys! SHame FC wasnt there

Anyway Im back in the saddle now, so hope to get some teaming done!

I think the TF are generally a great idea, but we need to think how to do them. The Clocky is a rather long tedious one in my opinion. It certainly helps if we have a "stealther" on the team - it cuts down mission time considerably! (especially if they have recall friend!)

Anyway, onwards!

And does anyone have any pics to post of that epic Babbage fight (one of the highlights of my CoX experience ever!)

And I did get a few better ones of us taking down the Clockwork King too.

Guys, May I suggest a cozzie compitition for Militia?

Plan: Make an alt on Zukruft server - with the militia costume, go to Atlas, and meet under the normal statue. We then decide on look.

I suggest Monday at 8pm for the meet-up?

A few suggestions:

1. Make the costume distinctive but unfussy. DIstinctive because we want to look the same, Unfussy because we can add little trills and frills according to our background (e.g. Portent may want a tech belt and shoulder straps, Dragonfly may want Gladiator shoulder armour, whilst Banshee might want nothing on top).

2. As far as colour goes... Id suggest a primary colour like black... and the secondary colour according to our archtype (like the icons)

Tanks - Grey
Scrappers - Gold
Blasters - Red
Defenders - Blue
Controllers - Purple

This would allow us to recognise each other a bit easier in combat - or at least recognise that the Grey goes in first and that purple surrounded by enemies needs some attention!

Im thinking "Star Trek" (And no im not a trekkie), but I understand that the basic cozzie and colour is the same, but there is a different secondary colour according to position?

I have drafted up an alt on Zukruft with this in mind.

Please toss in your thoughts. Its time we got the costume up and running!

I like the star trek color-coding idea.

I'm out with family on Monday night.

You already know my cossy idea anyway.

Posted

Even though Monday is my other gaming night, next week is looking questionable so I may not be able to make it. I certainly like the colour coding idea and the primary/secondary colour so I will run with that when I get round to designing some cossies tomorrow. I think what will make it will be the choice of how that colour is applied i.e. what pattern we use.

If I can't make it, I suggest we take a screenshot and post it here so people can make a decision. We can also post it on the Militia board as well just so we've got maximum coverage.
