Ninjas - why dont they listen

Started to get a bit annoyed with the AI of Ninjas. I have two MM, one robot/traps and one ninja/ff level 23. I tend to use the stay and goto commands to make sure they dont run off and agro rooms, esp in caves where you have the very open 4 tiered space at the end. I have noticed they simply dont listen, even in passive mode telling them to stop or goto somewhere so many times they just run off and do their down thing. Its really starting to annoy the hell out of me and making play in teams a pain. My bots are great, stop when i say, and generally behave. So whats the prob with ninjas? and has anyone over come this yet? or we just waiting for some patch or issue 7?

Oh I am stickign with it as i enjoy the change from ranged MM with bots to melee with ninjas

Ah the ninjas .. funny old guys but i love em.
Gotta keep those boys on a short leash tho otherwise they are off all over the map.
Little trick i learnt is to keep them on passive and when you come across a mob send the Oni in first with the 'go to' command then lead the others in on aggressive so they melee and keeping any strays inline with the pet window attack commands.
But yeah they are dumber than a sack of hair

i noticed this also when i rolled out a new ninja/dark for a change. In the first mission (plant the bugs) get get stuck behind a legde of about 15 cm high, no mather how.. he wouldnt move at all. By finaly using the goto i guide him to the side, meanwhile being wacked by 3 archanos. Later outside it took him over 5 minutes to get by a simple fench, robot pets just jump over and they start attacking. Finaly got my upgrade power, i let them 2 attack 1 mob. 1 runs in and do his 2 kicks, is the other 1 just standing from distance firing of a arrow once in a while....

Nope, though they are ninja, they are stupid as hell..

anyway, ninjas are best for PvP, but they die SOOO easily, trust me, I tried a ninja/FF and got em up to lvl 21 and deleted him.
But robots are the coolest in ranged, but they have a bug where they go into melee combat for no reason.

That melee would/should/could be fixed in I7. Downside is my /poison lvl38 power, wich affects mobs around my bot.

I do wonder how they will react if a mob runs toward a bot in melee range.. would they run back and fire?

I have no problems with my bots running into melee. True that they do sometimes run in and if the get ran into, they stay and fight.

Just simply target said bot and put him on passive and goto somwhere else, then tell him to attack again. It takes roughly 2 seconds to do (using the MMpetsbinds).

Most of the time, I have found it that most MMs are lazy and don't want to micromanage. They just want to hit attack/agressive button and go afk while pets take care of it.

Just my 2 cents though

well, actually i dont care if my bots melee.. they make more dmg that way though sometimes the melee can get a bit dangerous for them, its good to choose /FF since at lvl 38 u get force bubble, which can 'move' and keep out melee attackers out of range from ur pets

And i agree.. if more MMs where to manage the pets more, they had less problems.. the most frequent i use that can be applied in alot of situations (frantic runs, sitting in burn-patch, making aggro, leaving MM to solo mobs) is goto.. heres my macro for it (i prefer macros to binds, u do as u plz):
/macro "GoTo" "petcom_all goto"

this will make the pets move to a specific location that u target. they also keep their current mode (ie if aggressive, they maintain aggressive, so u never have to use 'heel' to control them and loose the firepower) its good for forcing them to stay by ur side, or make them walk 1st into the room, before u do... or just recall them when they go on their famous runs during combat

If you want dumb minions you should see the zombies. I have one zombie that does what he wants, when he wants, how he wants.
Follow me/passive = Why are you going the opposite direction to me?
follow me/aggressive = Don't just stand there stupid.. attack.
go to = run in a circle.

Sometimes the AI gets confused. Sometimes it just gets stupid.

not really happened to me, sometimes the grave knights will run into melee, but on thier way will keep nlasting his enemies with gloom and dark blast before slicing the heck out of them. But apart from that, zombies have proven themselves completely loyal and obedient to me.
