Do you people exist?

Or are you all hidden away on the forum, refusing to come in-game?

This is probably just me, but I think I've seen maybe four Brutes running around in-game, and have only teamed with two in the past. Are Brutes really that unpopular? Or am I just not seeing them?

Just comes across a little odd to me; they seem pretty popular on the forums. o_O

Check your sig for details....

Masterminds kill fury. Stalkers/Dominators and corruptors (especially /kin types) are appreciated. I do team with masterminds, but typically only to be sociable ... outside of a kinetic, or more brutes, everything else pretty much slows down my XP/hour...

Look at the numbers on Union right now ...

87 MM
49 Brutes
40 Corruptor
30 Dominators

Brutes are popular - but I find COV much less team required than COH - so if I don't find a team quickly I just go solo and have a blast.

I just made my first villain character today, a Brute, and had fun all evening, 6 hours of insane charging from lvl 1 to lvl 10.

Brutes are hilarious to play because they are total suicide maniacs. Always moreMoreMORE until you die.

I dunno if my playstyle is gonna change now that debt is possible, but up until now at least, it's been a total blast charging from one mob to another and never taking any downtime at all. It's either finish the entire mission on one uninterrupted charge, or go to hospital.

So much fun.

I'm only at 27 myself, but so far, nope, no change.
Although I use the extra levelling time to save up for SOs, so I don't really care ... yet. Ask me again at 32 or so

Ive done most of my levels sollo or on a Duo with an irl friend that plays a stalker. The "boring" part is that i get alot more xp/hour when soloing then i get with teams as there is so much downtime with teams both in missions and when waiting for people.

But now at lvl 37 i think im gonna slow down and enjoy some teaming.

Its true, brutes exceed in either small teams, teams with /kin, and stuff like that, mostly I've been playing my brute with a select group of TeamSpeak users

Im never on hide...I just sit and solo most of the time, most teams i join are mostly with friends, i usually end up with 7 mms

Was in a team of 6-7 last night. 3-4 MMs, a corruptor, a dominator and Red Rag. Most were ranged (MMs were robots/mercs) so my normal technique of charging into combat tended to get me killed very quickly as I had noone to share the aggro with. Also my brute is very end heavy so I kept running out while the others could just move onto the next group.

What I have found to work in large groups is not to toggle Blazing Aura as it's my biggest end hog and aggro magnet. Does mean I can't hold the aggro as well but hey, I'm a brute not a tank.

I wouldn't call myself people but yes I am part of the in-game universe aswell, probably more so than on the forums :>

Well... considering Fire of Darkness is still only lvl 3 (haven't played with him much), not sure what effect I have in joining this conversation. But I can confirm that here is one more brute who does exist...

I exist as of yesterday =p

Made myself a Super Strength/Invun Brute the other day and must say they are great fun. Easy to solo with, but now that I've experienced a lot of content with my Stalker main soloing, I always look for a team.

Brutes to me seem too similar to tanks. Because I always play as my tank I dont really want another character like that. I see a lot of brutes around though. The high hit points is always a popular choice, probably is solo too.

I get a lot of brutes teaming with me, being Dark Kinetics. Love buffing em and watching them scurry off happily like a kid in a funfair.

Until they get themselves in bovver and I have to try to rescue them.

Playing with brutes is like minding my 5 year old nephews & nieces. Great fun but you gotta keep an eye on them and they get everywhere.

*siphons speed and legs it away from all the brutes he's just irked*

I dunno about that, my first CoH ton was an invul/ss tank - retired at 14 due to boredom; my first CoV toon was an ss/invul brute, currently at 31 and a lot more fun; Brutes feel much more like scrappers to me.

I agree with Sugar Rush - I play my Brute very much like I play my scrapper. But then I might play my tanks like I play my scapper, hmmm?

Brutes feel like Tankers did back in I3 - great fun, and being somewhere between Scrappers and Tankers in damage output and defenses makes them very playable.
If I wasn't suffering from severe alt-holism, I would probably have gotten my Brute to level 40 by now as he is great fun to play with ... although the path to level 16 (Unyielding power) seemed a bit long and the toon was constantly being stunned and held
