I have no idea who Nien Numb is, and Mon Mothma was in the films for about a second. Lando was like the only black man in the universe, which has got to give him extra kickass points. Plus he would have fought Batman if not for studio execs.
So, to sum up, Stalkers beat every other AT, Han Solo beats Stalkers, Lando Carlrissian beats Han Solo, Studio Execs beat Lando Carlrissian.
The answer to our problem is clear. Nerf Studio Execs!

Fly is a stupid power in PvP, unless you use it to flee. It has NO combat purpose what so ever except for fleeing. It uses way too much endurance, your halted to an allmost complete stop if you as much as touch your powers. I tried really hard to make a hover / fly combination work on Imaginary. It just didnt work except for fleeing. If you want flying I highly suggest SJ or TP and hover instead. I know its two powerpools but its much more effective.

On the other hand providing you actually know how to use them Fly/Hover are as good if not better than alot of other powers.... Try chasing a flying blaster with SS+SJ or with TP+Hover sure you might get lucky but it would be that luck. There are a range of binds that can be used, some of the best switch between fly for movement and hover when staionary.
In fact I would go as far as to say SJ is best for running away with, it has no other function in PvP!
Yes I remember being ASed once in the air once (Could it have been you Valhart? ) I've learned stalkers are more dangerous when airborne - too many assume they are safe when up high.
As we saw in the big PvP events Stalkers were less of a danger as they were prone to being reveled by the many AoEs and PbAoes. Flight may help here to avoid some PBAoe and other effects like Caltrops etc.
The problem with fly is that the supression is seriously bad, you are halted to an allmost complete stop for 2 secs. Flying and shoting blasters are only anoying the damage is poor and they are lucky if they get kills. (well they can use defiance and snipe, but thats really the only tactic they have going for them). Jingle Jet is awesome cause it doesnt really drain endurance. And if you only rely on fly, there is so many powers with -fly, that you need something else. I like the combination of SJ to get you up and hover for staying there instead, atleast with 3 slots in hover you can move a little.
But perhaps its just me that cant get the hang of the switching part. But on a sniping blaster I would consider SJ and hover wastly superior. Drop from the sky and SJ away if they come close.
If only fly didnt suffer so much from its supression and endurance drain, then it would be awesome.

Yeah I hate those jet packs, I got fly and SS for a reason and now all the airbourne people are more jittery. Will be glad after Jan 2nd when the air will be full of oblivious people and be mine once more

Are you sure AoE's reveal stalkers? I've only ever seen it interrupt there AS, but it still leaves them hidden and able to get an opening critical hit from a regular attack.

I'm going on the 'Hide' description though it could be wrong -
"... If you attack or take damage, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you will be hard to see and will retain the +def bonus"
I think this says that you lose the -perception bonus but having not played a stalker maybe someone else can confirm.

Okay I generally play melee class characters, my main worry in PvP is controllers and defenders. If they have fly and I don't I'm screwed, I can't close. If I can't close they can continue to hold/debuff me ad infinitum. SJ sufers because its too fast, hover on its own is too slow, so I reiterate if you know how to use it fly rocks. And if you don't there are binds that will allow you to move with fly and attack with hover.
I never used to be a great fan of fly, but i tend to take that and superspeed now simply for air superiority. It's a pain trying to fit both those travel powers into builds for exemping in Sirens tho, i invariably loose out on SS there on toons.

Its more than +1 now. And Lando Carlrissian is never funny, he can fly and beat up Star Destroyers.
to be honest i havent checke but there is one other type on the heros side that is completly undetectable untill it attacks just like stalkers and it can unload a small army of pets of you butt as it dose its an illusion controler and i found the controler can be a hell offalot more devastating than a stalker as i played both and been attacked by both found i can counter a stalker rather nicely if i time it right but when a controler unloads his phantom army on my thats it im dead
now all the pets from the villains side can be killed phantom army cant and if used right can do alot more damage than a MM in the same time so why arent the villains complaining that this is unbalanced in the same way the heros are complaining just because one AT can whoop there [censored]

Stalkers need plenty of skill to hit a skilled target, or even a moderately cautious one.
An unskilled stalker will nail an unskilled target because the Stalker is supposed to be able to surprise the target. You are making unreasonable demands and you really didn't do yourself any favours by describing your preferred tactic as what could be termed the '0 skill blaster option' getting you killed by a team of 4 stalkers using a fairly crude ambush.
Edit: and my last observations of PVP stalkers were that most of them screwed up and had to spend a lot of time running away - hardly the mark of being effortlessly outstanding.
