Ummm, thanks, seems I got everyone going off on another tangent... :P
Typical. -
Is there a picture database of the different wings?
I'm not finding anything of good quality to see if I like any of 'em. -
/em giggle
Hehehehe, 'strue that.
It's just one of those thoughts that you HAVE to put down somewhere.
Besides that, I'd be screaming myself, 'cause why doesn't it then boost the defence given by my Bubblefender.
Tee-hee -
Yes, that's right, Damage Inspirations... I've been thinking right..... can't we have it affect the amount we heal???
Wouldn't that be great, could help in a sticky situation... I know, I know, there's healing insps for pple in trouble
But just think of it, we'd actually have a use for them instead of passing them on to others (I'm speaking in broad terms ofcourse as I know we've got a blasting secondary hehe)
A boy can dream can't he? -
I've done gr8 PuG's and sucky PuG's, but that's just life, I always PuG, usually when I'm not picked up I'll start one myself.
Now having pretty much played most of the AT's or played with some a lot, I usually have a general idea what they can do and I pick up people's playstyle's easily. So PuG's haven't been much of a worry.
At times things go wrong and people learn from them, when they don't, or I notice that people are disheartened and go on about how can we do this? I'll usually step up with a plan (oooo ego boost) otherwise I like keeping my fingers stilled and letting the team find their balance.
I've played a Tank (Fire/Fire) and (ego boost again) I've done well by him. Having played with my SG mates with him a lot, I had dedicated empaths and due to my own playstyle I grab and hold as much aggro as I can, keeping track of enemies and allies and trying to spot when a squishie's gotten aggro outside of my range and then pull it off 'em.
Now playing a empath, I sometimes raise my eyebrows at tanks that don't keep aggro on them, but nothing much I can do about it, I also more appreciate the value of Tankers and how much I musta had my SG'mate Empaths hearts beating in their throats as my health went from Green straight to Red ( Ok, so I started off thinking I was going to skrank :P )
I think the general problem with the "OMGZ WE NEAD A HEAL0RZ" mentality is that Heals are VERY noticable, compared to the more subtle bonuses of the other Defending Primaries. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about that except trying to keep educating people that Defenders don't HAVE to be their person Heal0rz and that other Defenders do have a valueable and useful place.
Now... what was I rambling on about? -
My main was a FF defender.
Had great time with him and had a few teams that went why don't you heal?
At which point I'd politely tell them to wait and see what I can do.
Wasn't long till they loved bubbles. hehehe.
Later game it's not as bad luckily, by then people have caught on (USUALLY) that Defenders of any kind are a handy thing to have with different skills.
I've recently started an empath.
Loving it to bits got to admit.
So far haven't had any complaints and a lot of complements.
Still, I hate it when I get a tell from someone asking if I can heal.
Yes, I am playing a empathy defender and yes I do heal, but *sigh* that's not all I can do.
But surely enough, at times when playing other chars and I hear the words "we need a healer" I usually get a bossy and tell 'em to get it in line and work as a team and we won't.... sometimes taking over completely and telling people what to do and sure enough with good co-ordination a team made up of any combination of players can do amazing things.
(I seem to be pulling my own chain, tee-hee)
There do seem to be a large lack of Empaths around though I've found, not surprising really. Nothing worse than people only wanting you to be their heal bot.
I think the next time I have someone say we need a healer, i'm going to go tell them to go and roll one then. :P -

Feh, you want a real challenge, get to 40 without taking any of the pets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now there's an idea... I wonder if you could do that, although I imagine that trying to stay in a team would be hell. -
Thanks for the input so far guys.
I do team a lot, hence picking up the Medicine Pool as well as using the Poison. Double Rez anyone??
Definatly want to take:
Leadership Pool:
Defence
Accuracy
Damage
(Vengeance to be seen)
Medicine Pool:
Aid other
Stimulant
(aid self? maybe)
Rez
TP:
Recall Friend
Teleport
That really doesn't seem to leave me much space for anything else though does it? -
It's gloom (the second power) quite the nice one.
I was thinking of taking life drain, might indeed not do that now.
At the moment, I don't seem to be able to live without Stamina (or at least i'm always out of end) so I was building towards it (taken swift). I basically only really use my Heal from Poison and my Heal from Medicine and seem to be constantly running out of end healing the team and my zombies.
I might respec it out later if it becomes obsolete though. -

O and I want to pick up leadership (will Vengeance work with your pets btw?? when they die that is?)
[/ QUOTE ]It uses the same code as res, so no.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that's a pitty. Maybe I'll skip out on it, of course that does depend on how squishy my teammates are.
I'll have to see if it's a useful power to take or too situational or maybe even if it'll work with my character concept.
Woulda been REALLY useful power if it worked for when your pets go splat though. -
Why helloooooo.
So my Altilitus has gotten the better of me and I've joined Defiants Villain population with a MM.
Now I can't seem to be able to get the Hero Builder I found to work.
But I have the base Idea for what I want with my MM. Any help / advice on which levels to take what form those in the know would be gr8!!!
I want all the Primaries... well most of them anyway, as far as I can tell their all pretty much needed.
Travel power I was going to take TP (just recall and TP)
Then I've already picked up the Medicine Pool
O and I want to pick up leadership (will Vengeance work with your pets btw?? when they die that is?)
Then of course there's my Poison Secondary.
I've already got the Heal (first power)
& then I've taken Envenom, which although being a single target is quite useful to slap that silly Leiut / boss down easier.
I definatly want the Res, but all the other powers look really cool as well, of course due to the restricted amount of powers I can take, I seem to be quite limited in choices, also I'm not sure what powers unlock at what level.
As you can see, I'm not taking the standard MM stealth Route either, I just don't think I have the power slots to pick that up as well
i guess I'm basically asking for a build layout? if anyone has the time or would care to post one for me to have a look at? (or a link to a hero builder, i believe i was trying the SilverShark?? one)
O & Master_Zaprobo Thank for that guide, the binds and all that, WAY usefull!!!!!!!! -
I haven't hit Hamidon Level yet and have gotten Altilitus suddenly....
I'm sure there must be a way to defeat Hami easily... or at least easier.
The Dev's couldn't possibly have created the CoV End Task Force that's going to give a equivalent HO for an 8man Team if the CoH Hami is soooo hard to do.
I also doubt sincerely that they meant for more than one team to go at it.
8 man team is as 8 man team does. They must've worked with the limit of a 8 man team since that's the limit they enforced.
Why should Hami need more than 8 people to do if nothing else (that I know of) needs more than 8 people to do.
I'm pretty darned sure that there's a way for Hami to be beaten with just 8 pple. If not, the Dev's need to seriously make one.
Now, I guess I should prolly start trying to hit Hami levels so I can come and explore with you. -
TK is the BEST power in the Game!
You hit a single target, that gets lifted up and repelled away from you, if you pull it off right, you can hold a HUGE group and pin them in a corner or against a wall and have your people beat them as their floating against the wall unable to attack you.
Note: I have noticed that Bosses and sometimes Leiuts (when Orange/RED/Higher) do tend to be able to attack even while being floated, this is usually sorted out with a hold on them though.
I love the mind set, it takes a while for you to really get going (as with most dominator sets) but once you get there, you can pretty much handle quite a lot.
At the moment (lvl 29) I can handle about 4 or more groups in a team of 8 attacking us at once with me the only dominator and the team knowing how my powers work and what not to do (like wake up the sleepers)
Basically, I sleep one (i have a 3 second tick between them waking up and me sleeping them again), Hold another group.
TK the 3rd one and use single target holds and the Fear Cone Power to control the fourth...
Needless to say, i usually do end up faceplanted at some point due to the mass of aggro, but in a good team, that doesn't always happen!
As a note, I would take the Stamina Arc to be able to get it at 20, I know my dominator can be a very big end hog.
Then again, I did take TK as soon as it became available and that sux end like you can't believe!
But still, my dominator is very end heavy, even now after having Stamina and 4 slotting it. -
-Res on every power it has.
Your attacks, -Res. Single target -Res powers. Group/Cone -Res powers.
The shields look good as well!
I've picked up the first 2 shields for my Sonic/Sonic Corrupter. Their working out quite luuuuuurrrvely and the teams love 'em! -
I'll bring Scarlet around, lvl 40.
If that's alright?.... actually, maybe i better not, my connection is iffy at best and I wouldnt' want to dissapear on you half way through... *grumble*
and I really wana do the respec trials too.... well, maybe I'll turn up anyway. -
YaY! Another Sonic/Sonic!
I've just rolled myself one recently, still exploring it more indepth.
Howls good for me, I like it on top of shout. -
I've just joined your ranks. I'm loving my Fire/Fire, I've never been fond of Fire sets, but a good character concept and idea and ofcourse my SG mates sneakily convincing me to brake my rule and make a Alt had me taking up the tank.
I love it, I was always trying to tank with my defender, but now I get to BE the Tank standing in the front line! -
*waves hand*
Dominator over here!!!
Yes, Yes, I am a dominator, shocking init?
I like my set for PVP, haven't downed someone yet, but I'll get there. -
*blink blink*
That was a cruel topic to write in.... here I was expecting another one of "THOSE" threads.
Yeah! Gr8 to see pple turning the tables on the Stalkies! -

At the moment it's only Persistance!

Bubbles are great, but it is a set that you need to have a feel for.
It was the first set I picked, lol, actually it's still the first char that i'm playing as I want to take him all the way to 50 before catching altilitis.
Dispersion bubble is great, it SERIOUSLY reduces the Mez times and gives a resistance to getting mezzed.
I'm not sure on the defence bonus, but I don't play by numbers anyway. Keeping everyone in it can be a bit of a problem though. But hey, can't have it all our way now can we?
It's definately not a very aggressive set. That's for sure.
But I love the set.
O and the other bonus to dispersion bubble is that it's a bubble that actually gives you a bonus as well!
Bubbles can mean the life and death of a team. I know that at times I've had bubbles drop on some of my teammates and they've wondered away bashing things and then you can just see that healthbar drop double quick.
It's a more passive set, you only affect your team before hand and doesn't have that instant gratification that you'r most likely looking for, or the offender feel, since you mentioned Rad etc.
I don't know the sets all that well, so i'm just tugging at a few stray thoughts that I've picked up.
But yes, to play a bubbler you need to be a bit more of a passive player.
Although now at lvl 39 I'm right in there with my team, if I'm not the one dicing the Tank to see who hits the group first!
My last stand tactic is usually to try and grab as much aggro as I can, get PFF'd and tell the team to run and recuparate. Problem ofcourse is that you can't actually hold aggro for very long in PFF, so if the team doesn't catch on quick, it's a definate splat.
Although that was mostly a tactic I used at lower levels, now at my level, tactics have changed a lot.
I'm just blabbering on endlessly aren't I?
Well I hope some of what I've typed helps. -
I doubt that you'd need to slot for EndRex in your bubbles (insulation & deflection)
I don't have mine slotted for it.
You will need to slot your PFF though (trust me you'll need it!especially early on)
I don't know anything about the /Rad, so I won't comment on that.
I dont' have EndRex slotted in any of my bubbles, xcept for Dispersion Field, Repulsion Field and Force Bubble, all only 1 x EndRex.
I have got my Stamina x4 slotted though.
Welcome to the world of bubbles!
Let them learn to love you! -
*blink*
I think you'd yell at me if I went Psycho bubble!
LvL up so I can play wif you!
Welcome!
