Rage, useless or not

My question is whether rage is useless or not. The reason I'm asking this is whether you people think it is. I believe it is after lvl 15. Even when only running two toggles i find I'm out of end after fighting three minions. My rage has built upto a quarter and I'm then having to rest as all my defences are down and no end to hit anything with.
What are your thoughts on this?

Fury != Rage. That's not me being pedantic, just a disambiguation - Rage is a buff in the SS sets.

That said... I'd take a look at what attacks you're using to build up your Fury, and your toggle management - I sometimes drop the less necessary toggles in order to squeeze that much more endurance out for my attacks, but it's a risk - a calculated one, but a risk all the same. You could always slot EndReds in your attacks. Making more Insp tray space in favour of blues over all else is also a risk. Failing that, find a /Rad Corruptor (after level 4) or a /Kin Corruptor (after level 20), and befriend them.

Fury is great, I solo small missions in one go, mediums with one quick rest. I think you really should learn to manage your end better, make sure you are only running the toggles you need and use any insps you find.

Fury is wonderful.

Tips on using it:

Put brawl on autofire. It is low cost, quick to recharge (plonk a recharge enhancement in there asap) and helps build fury wonderfully.

Take your first attack. It is the fastest recharging, lowest end cost non-brawl thing you have. I soloed entire maps using just Jab and Brawl until getting DOs to cut down on end use and keep fury high.

Save your big attacks for big stuff. When Fury is high, I can happily one shot a minion with knockout blow. Doesn't mean it is a good idea though, as it screws up my whole-as-close-to-end-neutral-as-possible style of gameplay.

Don't enhance for damage, at least not at the begining. End reduction, recharge and accuracy are far more important. Fury will happily look after your damage output.

Get a useful in-mission travel power. Time spent running between mobs is time not spend gaining fury. Some like Super Speed, I personally have gone for Combat/Super Jump, boosted by Hurdle from the fitness pool.

Get the fitness pool and three slot both health and stamina. Bars going up fast are your friend.

For an AT based on the principle of SMASH!, brutes require a significant amount of skill and savvey to play well, but played well they are hugely effective, and most importantly, very, very fun.

I can sometimes go the whiole damn mission nearly non stop . End is becoming an issue now though but I do drop some of my toggle when they not needed, that help. Also I find if you build up nearly an entire bar of fury you have plenty of time to rest full and get back into the fight, you'll be down to maybe half a bar. I also eat loads of my insparations to keep room for new ones int he hopes they are catch a breath

I do that too!

Of course, the occasional team wipe, due to taking it a bit too far does happen

Nothing but a face full of floor can stop me when I'm furious

A small price to pay. The pile of bodies you leave in your wake should cusion the fall

to try to accually reply to you question ( as everyone else seems to have missed the point) rage is a power in the SS pool, good damage and acc buff that when it fruns out leave you unable toattack and with lower defence for 10 second, it's very useful on my SS/invul tanker in CoH, am guess in would b3e really good on a brute, though wouldent recomend taking it till lvl 28 or so, it's not a toggle and take up almost no endurance and even with ED is permerable (becuse it doesnt negate the down cycle). is a good damge boost, with that and fury, you should be able to avoid the need for damage enhancements at all, though the down cycle can be dangerous if you not careful (i.e. if you in a fight you might need to drop a couple of purps to get through, depending on the fight)

Unless i'm wrong Super Strength/Rage doesn't build up, its there or its not. The OP was after Fury which Synaesthetix pointed out.

I love you! Hehe, no really... or well... I did try it out with Brawl and Shadow Punch... and damn, never have I had that much endurance available to me in my 18 levels of DM/DA Bruteship. That Fury just skyrockets in no time to 75+% and that lovely damage just follows .

I like rage, its a big help when you get a whole pile of mobs on you, and its great fun to be able to take out your targets with one or two hits.

Is anyone else considering slotting brawl? Seriously. I'm considering getting more slots in it for recharge time and the attack speed reduction thing. I don't really care if it hits or not, I just want it go go off. Often.

I use other powers to SMASH!

fast brawling certainly does seem the way to build fury fast

Hopefully the devs won't think of stopping brawl generating fury (nooooooo... what have I done... must edit NOW)

find me: @Ebon Hawk or @Jayd Dragon on Union

And then combine brawl with boxing from the fighting pool and rage will really go up fast and still almost no end cost.
