Nope.

Though you might be able to find an adaptor of some sort...

or you could get the collector's edition version of Guild Wars, it comes with a "free" (£24.99) Logitech Internet Chat headset.

I'm debating whether or not to get it as I already have a good headset.

Ok can some tell me how to set this thing up?I'm a complete dufus when it comes to things like this?
I've installed it and tried to create a CoH channel with the address and password supplied but i can't conect

Teamspeak is ace Chaplain, i'm trying to tell as many people about it as possible so the word spreads.

Not only does it make playing CoH easier its just alot of fun too.

Oh yeah, how do you become registered? As i think i will be a regular.

Sorry for my late response DK. You are being a dufus because it is easy...

here it is, as it appears in my profile;

Download Teamspeak: http://www.goteamspeak.com
Connection Details:
213.239.177.120:8700
Server password: union (note lower case!)
Input your Char name in the Nick Name box.
Click Anonymous!!! (not registered)

If you get problems then try sending a tell to kilo, nikta, chaplain (in that order).

Players are registered to the server whenever i manage to do it. however atm, being registered allows no further benefits to being unregistered.

More people always welcome! Although id say 1 thing. This is not aimed at anyone in particular because many people do it. If you come online, please respect other peoples channels and dont come and and try to talk while people are in a mission etc. There are some generic chat areas where this is fine.

Does anyone want any other channels? Anyone have any ideas for improvement?

Haha...cheers but kinda got it working..only after I couldn't have CoH comming out my speakers and teamspeak on headphones.
Is there anyway of keeping the game sound and tunes comming out of my speakers and getting teamspeak to come out of my headphones?

Posted

Probably if you have 2 sound cards. If you dont have 2 sound cards, then no.

We all have al sound coming through headphones. Which often required CoH soudns to be reduced to 25%.

Posted

i also wondered, Disco. its a [censored]. xbox live has ruined me also

Posted

Yup gotta love Live's system

Well do you think I could run the headphones thru mother board sound and game thru soundcard?

Posted

Nope.. Think your system will get confused if you turn On Board sound on and run a soundcard.

I have a mic and cant get it to work. Theres nothing wrong with the mic as ive tried two different ones. The problem is with windows (i think).Im not to hot with PCs and havent got a clue how to get it working. My Bro uses team speak with MOHAA and he couldnt get it working on my pc either. Could some 1 plz help and explain what they think might be wrong. plz word any advice as if you were talking to a blond as ive said im not to hot with PCs

Control Panel and SOund Settings is the route of many peoples problems. Make sure you have the obvious settings for MIC ticked / unticked. As in MUTE etc.

Difficult to say sometimes but most of the time its due to 1 small little toggle somewhere in windows that just needs flicking and hey presto...

TS has a local test feature inside the settings menu. Change things and then try it there to see if you can work it.

Also check you have the lead plugged in the correct socket. Not meaning to insult your intelligence with that one, but sometimes, just sometimes, people get it wrong.

Chap.

odd problem, could be in the sound options, if you double click on the sound icon on taskbar check the mic is not muted. There should be other options to explore in there in file, properties.

ok, enlighten me some one.
I used team speak for the 1st time last night.
I had to be moved to the correct channel by some one else.
1) How do you do this yourself?
2) i have a working mic, i know this because I use skype and it works. why could I not speak on TS2?
3) What does the (R) & (U) mean behind nicknames, it this connected to items 1 & 2 here?
4) is there an idiots guide to TS2, i just want to play, not have to sort out a miriad of problems i don't know how to deal with.
Hope you guys can help.

cheers

Must read through other posts better (skim reading not always the best)
So, i know the jack is in the right hole to have used skype.
as to the rest (**Shrug**)

To move channel, just simply double click on the channel title you desire to be in.

U = unregistered
R = Registered.

makes no odds which one of these you are.

Cant comment on not being able to talk on TS as its down to your own personal settings. Worth playing around with every Sound Setting on your system to check. Also TS sound settings is worth playing with. It has a test programme to can keep checking your settings with.

Was quite interesting last nite chaplain, trying to work out which game you were playing.

"The **** just reversed over me" - unknown

I got it in the end though.

Ah.. that was Enz i beleive. I take to a bit of BF2 inbetween CoH. Its a completely different ball park to CoH and thats nice to freshen things up a bit.

Roled a new Controller last night tho and i think i just got hooked...

OK for those having problems getting microphones working with TS, the following may be of use.

Bring up the windows mixer, as follows:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio -> Click the Device Volume 'Advanced' button.

Ensure that in the Playback options you have the microphone Mute checkbox ticked.

Go to the recording settings as follows.

From the playback mixer, select the Options Menu and click Properties.

Select 'Adjust volume for : recording' and click OK, making sure that the checkbox is selected to show you the controls for the microphone channel.

Select the microphone channel for recording.

These steps should stop you broadcasting in game music to everyone else on TS.

Next, you need to double check that you have plugged your microphone into the correct socket on the back/front/top/side of your PC (this depends on the PC case you have, and whether you've connected it to your sound card or use onboard sounds etc. etc.)

Next, fire up Teamspeak. but don't connect to the server yet.

PLEASE please please for the love of grud, use Push To Talk

I'm serious. most of the crosstalk/feedback issues on TS could be massively reduced if everyone used push to talk.

To be nice to other peoples ears and do this, go to the Settings menu in TS, and select Sound Input/Output Settings.

Select Push to talk as the Voice Send method, and then you need to decide on a button to use to transmit. I use Mouse button 3, on the side of my Logitech MX510 mouse. you can pick whatever you want, but make sure it does nothing in the game, otherwise you'll do that whenever you want to speak, and whilst jumping in game whenever you want to talk may be amusing, it's likely to become old really REALLY quick

Next, activate local test mode. then hold down the button you assigned to use for PTT and talk. You should hear your voice replayed back to you with a slight delay.

Hopefully something in this post will be of use, even if it's only letting you know where to find the recording mixer settings
