Make sure the advertisement includes "unused product key" because some people use the code and re-sell the collectibles.
When I bought mine, I got REALLY lucky. The original purchase price was $50. I signed up for the Amazon credit card and got $20 off my first purchase (or $30, can't remember). Applying the code gave me 30 free days. The set also included a 60-day time card (I don't know why it was there, it wasn't in the ad. lol)
Putting it all together, considering the in-game items and the time added to my account, I ended up paying less for my account than if I had never bought it. lol

If you can find a COH DVD edition, you can add it to your account. They're not being made at the moment.
I have seen/heard of several copies in various stores like Ross, Big Lots or such where they carry computer programs.
I myself saw 4 last year and 2 this year.

I found 4 of them and 1 COV Collector's Edition DVD in a Big Lots here in Houston last year. I bought all of them. Added a code to my account, my wife's account, gave one to a friend (he paid for the vent server for like 2 months, figured why not) and the other one I gave up as a first place prize in an SG Arena PVP tourney. So, if you have a big lots near you, I'd definately check there. As someone already said, they're like $10 from there.

Nothing you actually pay/pay extra/buy a specific edition for will ever be given away free. The preorder sprints (and helmets, from the COV preorder) aren't ones you paid *extra* for. (Even the COV CE Arachnos symbol and the vet symbol are different.)

I have seen two versions of Powerslide. I have the lavender one, I want the golden one. Can anyone tell me which package had the golden powerslide?
There is only the pink slide. Golden slide is slide+superspeed.

You can also buy the Hero Gear Kit direct from NCSoft at Hero Con for $20. It contains all the stuff that was in the collector's edition, though in a plain white box instead. It was available last year and the year before. (That's where I got mine) Since there's no Hero Con this year, I don't know if the Hero Gear Kit will be made available.

Is there anyway to get the Power Glide movement power? I think it was originally available via one of the special DVD releases. I've seen a few heroes with it and I think it would be perfect for a toon I have. I've tried looking under the various add-on packs available but I haven't seen it.
