yeah and make sure you have Dual blades with that!
You have a SS/Wp already.. why not try something like Stone melee/Firey aura? That would be something different. Or SS/fire there both fun and kill really fast.

Electric Aura on stalkers is NOT the I Win button.
Electric Aura has two major weaknesses: No self heal and a toxic resistance hole.
If you play in the Rikti War Zone almost religiously then you'll flat out love the brute.
Now for all around I would probably tell you to try out Shield Defense/Dark Melee. Plenty of fun, good survivability and a very nice attack chain.
I need to roll a shield brute one day .. actually a sheild anything I haven't played any

lol you obviously haven't seen my posts on /ela. So i'll let you know that I was completely joking, since picking /ela is the worst choice for what he wanted :P
Dark Melee/Willpower:
Io sets can be as expensive as hell but easily the solo king. Super survivable, never have to slow down, superior mez protection, good defense, good resistance, very high hp, ultra super regen(starts at 760% regen and increases by 50% for each enemy you add, that's more regen than many pvp builds' attack chains can keep up, before you factor in siphon life), 2.05 net recovery and a very, very high single target dps. >
This is the game on easy mode. >

Point taken.
If you want two completely new-to-you sets, I'd second DM/Shield. Shield is squishy compared to most other sets until you are able to start layering on set bonuses but DM debuffs accuracy so it's the perfect compliment to a defense set. Also as mentioned DM has the heal that Shields lack.
If you have a large budget and don't mind playing SS again, a strong case can be made for SS/Shield for a real min-max "brute god". With a lot of set +defense and +recharge bonuses you get a softcapped (i.e. highly survivable) character with two inherent +damage capabilities (Rage and Againt All Odds), a very high damage AoE attack in his secondary, strong single target attacks and the ability to pump out lots of AoE by cycling Footstomp and Patron AoE attacks. ThugsRus has an SS/SD guide that shows some sample builds. His most expensive build is heart-stoppingly expensive, but you can build an awesome SS/SD without purples. Still won't be cheap though!
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.
Well Im not that rich...since the market is so frickin insane, and Ill burn in H**l before I buy inf from a chinese inf farmer.
Unless someone knows a good way to make tons of cash ( yes I will sell my body ))
If you can wait till i16, there is a new announcement that Claws is coming. That will be a terrific brute powerset. I haven't played a DM brute but my understanding of it is that it's great for building Fury since it has quick attacks that are end-efficient. Claws too has a reputation for having a fast fluid attack chain that seriously pumps out sustained DPS.

I've gotten to the point where my Shield/SS's end bar isn't that bad at all, especially if I don't run Tough.
SS/SR, you will be a monster capable of taking down Lord Recluse himself. If you want a demonstration I will gladly rip apart anything you desire. I can even just about manage some eight man spawn, depending on where the RNG is on the love-me/hate-me scale. Just look up @Kiarean.

He'll be STRONG and PRETTY! And he will gnok you so hihg.

My buddy runs a fully IOd SS/SD and has no problems with end surprisingly. He does have to pop a blue every once in awhile, though.
SM/SD... that would be your endurance bar crying
My SS/SD is 39 atm and dont run into heavy end problems. I have frankenslotted all their attacks for something like 70-90% end reduction, as well as the toggles.
Spamming Footstomp with the FF proc, and KO blow each time it's up can be a bit endurance intensive, but nothing I cant manage with just one blue inspi time to time.
At 50 with all the uniques and a solid IO build I dont think she'll have the slightest endurance issue, at least I hope

personally i quite like elm/ela which is the brute i use atm. its pretty and strong =P
pluss i managed to hit the energy res cap, with 40% res on everything else (bar toxic) which im guessing is good when im not using any IO sets, and only have like 3 IO ench's in each armour =P
/ela is the I win button ^^ =D
on a more seriouse note... /stone looks pretty descent, and has some good synergy with elm's lightning rod as well as some nice PBAOE's that looks tasty no?

To the OP:
I have to know a price tag before I recommend any brute set. If you have the inf, Dark/Shield is quite nice, especially for dealing with AVs. SS/Shield is an atrocity. Elec/Shield is nifty.
I do enjoy electric armor, but I would be lying if I told you it was even close to the best survivable set out there.
Ok...
I want a fun brute....massive damage...great survivablity...and plenty of FUN!
Just tell me why you think what...
I have altitis..been going through different things. Now back to my fav brutes. I have a SS/WP, Stone/Stone
So Im open ...
